Abstract

This writing is motivated by the relationship between politics and Islamic boarding schools, with a focus on the case study of Darul Arafah Raya Islamic Boarding School. Islamic boarding schools, as traditional Islamic educational institutions, play a strategic role in shaping the character and religious understanding of society. In the Indonesian context, where political dynamics often interact with religious values, Islamic boarding schools function not only as social entities that can influence and be influenced by political changes. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Research related to politics and Islamic boarding schools shows that Darul Arafah Raya Islamic Boarding School has a dual role as a place of religious education and as an arena for political discourse. The boarding school leaders are involved in local political activities, both through supporting leadership candidates and educating students about the importance of participation in the democratic process. Pesantren Darul Arafah Raya plays an important role in the local political context, but this needs to be balanced with efforts to maintain the integrity of religious education. The role of this pesantren also strengthens the curriculum that promotes moral values and ethical leadership in politics and encourages active participation by students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the representation of Islamic values (akidah, syariah, dan akhlak) contained in the lyrics of the religious song "Tomat (Tobat Maksiat)" by Wali Band. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a textual content analysis approach. Primary data in the form of song lyrics were obtained through library research and documentation. The results of the analysis show that the lyrics of this song contain comprehensive values. Key findings show the dominance of akidah values, including Remembering the Hereafter (Zuhud) and Repentance (Nadamah), as well as moral values such as Self-Awareness (Muhasabah) and Piety. The message of faith (faith in the Last Day) was found to have a significant percentage. It is concluded that the song "Tomat (Tobat Maksiat)" is a very effective contemporary medium of da'wah, especially for the younger generation, because it successfully combines a deep religious message with light pop music and popular language (an acronym for Tobat Maksiat), in line with the mau'izhah hasanah method.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a serious threat to public health and national security in Indonesia, requiring a comprehensive approach. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the social rehabilitation program at the Class II A Nusakambangan Narcotics Prison, focusing on cross-institutional synergy and a holistic approach to supporting the recovery of inmates. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach through observation and in-depth interviews with prison officers, inmates, and rehabilitation program facilitators. The results show that the social rehabilitation program at the Class II A Nusakambangan Narcotics Prison applies a holistic approach that integrates four main aspects: (1) physical aspects through detoxification and medical treatment; (2) psychosocial aspects through group and individual counseling; (3) mental and spiritual aspects through religious activities and meditation; and (4) independence aspects through vocational training. Synergy between the Prison, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health, and related institutions is the key to the success of this program. This comprehensive rehabilitation program focuses not only on physical recovery, but also on character and skills development to prepare inmates to become productive individuals and be able to reintegrate into society, while reducing the risk of drug recidivism.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program within the Community-Based Intervention (CBI) program. CBI is a program implemented by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to increase community involvement in drug rehabilitation services. This article also explains how to assist CBI clients (Individuals at Risk of Drug Problems) through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program implemented by the Cilacap National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) in collaboration with PT Pertamina Integrated Terminal Cilacap. This program aims to improve community life and reduce the likelihood of drug abuse among at-risk individuals. The empowerment methods used include skills training, health education, and social activities involving active community participation. By involving various parties, such as local governments and community organizations, this program aims to create a positive environment for the rehabilitation and social reintegration of CBI clients. The results of this CSR program indicate that public awareness of the dangers of drugs has increased, stigma against at-risk individuals has decreased, and skills have been developed that can help CBI clients find employment and avoid drug abuse. This article concludes that a community-based approach in PT Pertamina's CSR strategy can empower IBM clients and create a sustainable positive impact on society.

Abstract

Tari Piring, tarian tradisional dari masyarakat Minangkabau di Sumatera Barat, tidak sekadar sebagai ekspresi seni, tetapi juga mencerminkan perpaduan antara tradisi budaya lokal dengan ajaran Islam. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana Tari Piring menampilkan nilai-nilai budaya, moral, dan spiritual dalam konteks kebudayaan Minangkabau yang berlandaskan falsafah Adat Basandi Syarak, Syarak Basandi Kitabullah. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis kajian pustaka, penelitian ini menelusuri asal-usul Tari Piring, peran sosial dan budayanya, serta cara nilai-nilai moral dan spiritual Islam terefleksi melalui gerak, musik, properti, dan konteks pertunjukan. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa Tari Piring berfungsi sebagai sarana pendidikan nilai (value education) bagi masyarakat Minangkabau yang berlandaskan Islam, menekankan rasa syukur, keseimbangan, kerendahan hati, kerja keras, serta pengakuan terhadap kekuasaan Allah SWT. Temuan ini memiliki relevansi bagi Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI), terutama pada mata kuliah pengembangan budaya dan seni, karena Tari Piring dapat menjadi media kontekstual untuk mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai agama dengan budaya lokal.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has a strategic role in shaping the character, morals, and Islamic culture of learners amid the challenges of globalization and modernization that led to the decline of religious values and identity crisis. This condition requires the transformation of Islamic culture through education based on balanced spiritual and scientific values. This study aims to examine the role of PAI as a means of transformation of Islamic culture viewed from a philosophical and pedagogical perspective. The research method used is a qualitative approach with the type of literature study, which examines various relevant scientific literature to obtain a conceptual understanding of Islamic values, educational philosophy, and pedagogical strategies in the context of PAI learning. Data analysis was done with Miles and Huberman interactive model that includes reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results show that the transformation of Islamic culture in PAI is rooted in a philosophical-theological foundation that emphasizes the balance between science, faith, and morality. Pedagogically, the transformation is realized through exemplary learning strategies, habituation, integration of Islamic values in the curriculum, and the use of contextual digital technology. The synergy between philosophical and pedagogical dimensions produces an Islamic educational paradigm that is integrative, adaptive, and relevant to the dynamics of modern society. PAI serves not only as a means of transferring religious knowledge, but also as an agent for the cultivation of moral and spiritual values in the lives of learners. Thus, the transformation of Islamic culture through PAI becomes an important step in building a generation of knowledge, faith, and noble character in the midst of rapid social change.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the benefits of visual aids to strengthen students' enthusiasm for learning. This study applies a qualitative approach through direct observation and interviews involving one of the educators and third-grade III of elementary school students. Based on the results of the study, it is known that visual media plays a role in increasing students' attention during learning sessions, increasing active involvement during indoor learning activities using visual media, greatly supporting students in mastering the material, being more focused and enthusiastic during learning. The use of visual media has shown effectiveness in building an attractive, communicative, and enjoyable learning environment so that it has an effect on increasing students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of art and culture in enriching the Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning process through the integration of aesthetic and religious values. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach with a literature review method. Data were collected through an examination of various relevant literature sources, such as books, scientific journals, and previous research results discussing the relationship between art, culture, and Islamic education. The results of the study show that art and culture have an important contribution in shaping a more holistic, enjoyable, and meaningful learning experience. The integration of aesthetic values in PAI learning not only deepens students' religious understanding but also fosters spiritual, social, and moral sensitivity. Through Islamic art activities such as calligraphy, religious music, and local cultural works, Islamic values can be internalized contextually and creatively. This study confirms that strengthening the aesthetic and cultural aspects of PAI learning is a strategic step in shaping the character of students who are religious, cultured, and noble in the midst of global modernization.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze intolerant attitudes among students at SMP Negeri 4 Lalan, as well as identify the causal factors and solutions to overcome them. The main problem found is the persistence of intolerant behavior such as judging each other, a lack of mutual assistance, and teasing among peers. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation with informants consisting of homeroom teachers, PPKn teachers, and student representatives. The results of the study indicate that intolerant attitudes arise due to internal factors, such as students' limited understanding of diversity, as well as external factors, such as the influence of the family environment, peers, and social media. These attitudes negatively impact the learning climate and character development of students. Solutions offered include instilling an attitude of tolerance from an early age and implementing cooperative learning in the classroom. Both approaches are considered effective in building empathy, mutual respect, and an inclusive school environment. Thus, education plays a crucial role in preventing the growth of intolerant attitudes and shaping a generation that values differences

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of internalizing nine anti-corruption values on academic dishonesty intentions among first-year students at Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU). These values include honesty, responsibility, care, hard work, independence, discipline, simplicity, courage, and fairness. Theresearch uses a descriptive qualitative approach,collecting data through in-depth interviews,observations,and documentation involving new students and academic advisors.The results indicate that the internalization of anti-corruption values plays a crucial role in shaping students’ moral awareness and academic responsibility. Honesty and responsibility emerge as the dominant factors that reduce the intention to cheat or commit plagiarism. Moreover, moral courage and a supportive academic environment strengthen students’ commitment to integrity. In conclusion, the stronger the internalization of anti-corruption values, the lower the students’ intention to engage in academic dishonesty.
