EduInovasi: Journal of Basic Educational Studies is a journal published in the Study Program of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, the  Islamic Institute of Laa Roiba Bogor. This journal is published twice a year in February and Agust. Furthermore, this journal is published in two versions, namely print and online. The focus of this journal contains articles on research on Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education / Primary / MI / SD Teacher Education, such as competency analysis, learning strategies, learning theory, learning development, educator professionalism, and research results. Reviewers will review any submitted paper. The Journal kindly invites scientists, scholars, professionals, and researchers in the form of the contribution with articles to be published and disseminated through: the selection mechanism of the article, criticized by reviewer, and the editing process. Abstract

Low students' learning outcomes are still an issue in junior high school social studies instruction. This is due to teaching methods that do not involve student participation. Therefore, teachers need to select and apply innovative teaching methods to improve students' understanding of concepts. This study intends to explore the influence of crossword puzzles as a learning method on the learning results of seventh graders in IPS subjects at SMP N 11 Semarang. This study uses quantitative techniques and a nonequivalent control group design, which is a variation of a quasi-experimental design. The study’s sample comprised two classes, each with thirty-two students, Class VII B was the experimental group, and class VII D was the control group. The methods used to collect data included pre-test and post-test with essays and multiple-choice questions. The research instruments had undergone validity and reliability tests. Normality tests were used to analyze the data, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests with independent sample t-tests using SPSS version 25. The results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class was 77.59, which was higher than that of the control class, which was 69.78. The hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.010 (< 0.05), so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Therefore, it can be said that the crossword puzzle learning approach significantly and favorably improves the social studies learning result of students at SMP N 11 Semarang.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of teacher competence, teacher performance, and parental involvement on students’ academic achievement, as well as to investigate the moderating role of learning facilities. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that teacher competence and parental involvement have a positive and significant effect on students’ academic achievement. In contrast, teacher performance does not have a significant direct effect on academic achievement. The moderation analysis reveals that learning facilities weaken the relationship between teacher competence and academic achievement, while strengthening the relationship between teacher performance and academic achievement. However, learning facilities do not moderate the relationship between parental involvement and academic achievement. These findings support the relevance of Social Exchange Theory and Epstein’s Parental Involvement Framework in explaining factors influencing students’ academic achievement. This study provides important implications for educational stakeholders in designing policies related to teacher quality improvement, the provision of learning facilities, and the strengthening of sustainable school–family partnerships.

Abstract

Ecological disasters occurring across Sumatera in recent years reveal that environmental degradation is not merely a natural phenomenon but is deeply intertwined with human moral and behavioral failures. This article examines how greed, excessive exploitation, and the neglect of ecological boundaries contribute to the intensification of floods, landslides, and ecosystem collapse. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study integrates Qur’anic teachings—particularly QS. Ar-Rūm:41 and QS. Ibrahim:7—with contemporary environmental analyses to examine the ethical foundations underpinning ecological sustainability. The Qur’an presents greed (ṭama‘) as a destructive inner disposition that leads to fasād (corruption) on earth, while emphasizing syukur (gratitude) and qana’ah (contentment) as virtues that guide humans toward responsible stewardship. The findings suggest that deforestation, illegal mining, river manipulation, and unregulated development in Sumatera align with Qur’anic descriptions of human-induced corruption, leading to ecological imbalance and increased disaster vulnerability. Furthermore, the study highlights that gratitude and contentment offer practical ethical principles that can inform sustainable environmental policies by promoting restraint, accountability, and alignment with ecological carrying capacity. The integration of Qur’anic values with scientific insights provides a holistic framework for addressing environmental crises, emphasizing the need for moral reform alongside technical solutions. Ultimately, the research highlights the importance of integrating Islamic ethical principles into environmental governance to foster equitable, sustainable, and spiritually grounded approaches to ecological preservation.

Abstract

University students are faced with various academic, social, and psychological challenges that require resilience and strong perseverance as essential factors to complete their education and achieve academic success. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy and social support on grit among students at Buana Perjuangan University Karawang. The high rate of students failing to graduate on time and their low enthusiasm in facing academic challenges are important issues that need to be examined. This study uses a quantitative method with a causal design. Data were collected from 386 students at Buana Perjuangan University Karawang who were selected using convenience sampling. The instruments used were the Short Grit Scale (Grit-S) to measure grit, the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) to measure self-efficacy, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) to measure social support. Data analysis was performed using multiple regression with SPSS 26.0 software. The results showed that both self-efficacy and social support had a significant partial and simultaneous effect on student grit. These findings supported the research hypothesis and were supported by an R Square value of 0.414, indicating that 41.4% of the variation in grit could be explained by self-efficacy and social support simultaneously, while the remaining 58.6% was influenced by other factors. These findings reinforce the idea that interventions focused on strengthening self-confidence and providing external social support will be effective in increasing students' grit.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of muhasabah therapy on reducing anxiety levels among middle-aged adults with medical disorders. The proposed hypothesis states that muhasabah therapy has a significant effect on lowering anxiety levels in this group. The research subjects consisted of middle-aged adult respondents with medical conditions selected through purposive sampling. A quantitative method with a one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. The instrument used was an anxiety scale, and data were analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test with SPSS software. The results showed a t-value of 7.617 with a significance level of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of muhasabah therapy on reducing anxiety levels among respondents. These findings demonstrate that muhasabah, as a spiritual approach, is effective in lowering anxiety among middle-aged adults with medical disorders, thus supporting the proposed hypothesis.

Abstract

Education and learning are two concepts that are closely related to individual development. Education provides a framework and environment that allows learning to occur effectively, with a curriculum that supports learning methods according to student needs. In MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Jenangan, mathematics is often considered difficult by students, so high motivation is needed during the learning process. Lack of motivation can negatively impact academic achievement. Teachers are required to create a fun and effective learning atmosphere, as well as encourage students' curiosity about the material taught. Based on this, the researcher conducted research with a quantitative method. This study aims to analyze the influence of learning motivation on the learning outcomes of grade VII students at MTs Muhammadiyah 2 Jenangan. This study uses a quantitative method with the distribution of questionnaires to 75 students as the variables of learning motivation (X) and learning outcomes (Y) to determine the final exam scores of even semesters of mathematics lessons. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 27. The results showed that there was a significant positive influence between learning motivation and student learning outcomes, with the regression equation Y = -74.432 + 1.849X. The regression coefficient value of 1.849 shows that each increase in learning motivation will increase learning outcomes by 1.849 points. The significance test showed a t-count value of 13.751 ≥ a t-table of 1.665, which indicated that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. Overall, learning motivation contributed 72.1% to student learning outcomes, while the remaining 27.9% was influenced by other variables that were not studied.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Canva audiovisual media on the learning interest in economics among eleventh-grade students at SMAN 2 Indralaya Utara. The background of this research stems from several learning issues, such as economics lessons often being unengaging, with students lacking focus and active involvement, necessitating innovations like Problem Based Learning that encourages active participation through solving real-world problems, in line with Vygotsky and Bruner's constructivism theories. This is an experimental research with a Quasi-Experimental Design in the form of a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The results show that t_count = 18.895 ≥ t_table = 1.7109, meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, thus it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by Canva audiovisual media on the learning interest in economics among eleventh-grade students at SMAN 2 Indralaya Utara. The conclusion emphasizes the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning assisted by Canva in making learning more engaging and interactive, as it transforms learning from passive to active, creative, and visual, aligning with modern learning styles. Despite constraints such as the need for Canva premium and limitations focusing only on learning interest, as well as the relatively short research duration for observing long-term impacts.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a product for the development of a learning media using Easil in news text materials for grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Lawang Kidul. The type of researcher used is the RnD (Research and Development) method. The development model used is using the Alessi & Trolip development model.Learning media using Easil in news text materials for grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Lawang Kidul was developed based on the results of needs analysis and interviews of teachers and students. In the results of the needs analysis and interviews of teachers and students, learning media products using Easil are needed in learning news text material for grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Lawang Kidul. Next, the first step is to carry out the initial design of product manufacturing by making flowcharts and storyboards. Then the next step is the development of the initial form of the product, validation tests, and product revisions. The validation test has 3 aspects, namely, the media aspect which gets a percentage result of 92.86% with a very feasible category. Furthermore, in the material aspect with a percentage of 87.5% with a very decent category. Furthermore, the last aspect is the language aspect with a percentage result of 79.17% with a very decent category. From all three aspects, it was obtained in the category of very suitable for use in the learning media from research on the development of learning media using Easil in news text materials for grade VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Lawang Kidul.

Abstract

Early childhood education plays a strategic role in establishing the foundation for long-term development, making the quality of learning planning a crucial factor in determining the effectiveness of the learning process. This study aims to describe how early childhood education (PAUD) learning planning can improve teachers' pedagogical competence through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Rengasdengklok District. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore the practice of AI-based learning planning in depth, with a descriptive study involving PAUD teachers as the main subjects. The results show that the use of AI helps teachers develop more systematic, adaptive, and developmentally appropriate learning plans. Teachers utilize AI applications and tools to identify student characteristics, design varied learning strategies, and develop more structured daily plans. The use of AI also strengthens teachers' ability to organize materials and select learning methods appropriate to the classroom context. Furthermore, AI integration has been shown to encourage teachers to be more reflective in the planning process through more accurate data analysis. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of improving PAUD teachers' digital literacy and institutional support in providing adequate technological devices.

Abstract

Brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens) is a major rice pest that can significantly reduce yields, even leading to crop failure, therefore a biological control strategy is needed by utilizing natural predators.This study tested the predation ability and functional responsse of five Coccinellidae species (Micraspis lineata, Micraspis discolor, Cheilomenes sexmaculata, Coccinella transversalis, and Coelophora inaequalis) against brown planthopper imago at five levels of prey density using a factorial Completely Randomized Design with 48 hour observation. This study analyzed the ability to prey, predation rate, attack rate, handling time, and the type of functional responsse through regression based on Holling Disc Equation modeling. The results showed significant differences between species (p < 0.05) with C. transversalis being the most efficient predator with the highest attack rate (0.6861) and the lowest handling time (0.0311), followed by M. lineata (a = 0.6615; Th = 0.0798), while C. inaequalis was the predator with the lowest effectiveness. All species showed a type III functional responsse with the quadratic model having the highest R². These results indicate that C. transversalis and M. lineata are potential predators as biological control agents for brown planthopper in rice agroecosystems.
