EduInovasi: Journal of Basic Educational Studies is a journal published in the Study Program of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah, the  Islamic Institute of Laa Roiba Bogor. This journal is published twice a year in February and Agust. Furthermore, this journal is published in two versions, namely print and online. The focus of this journal contains articles on research on Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education / Primary / MI / SD Teacher Education, such as competency analysis, learning strategies, learning theory, learning development, educator professionalism, and research results. Reviewers will review any submitted paper. The Journal kindly invites scientists, scholars, professionals, and researchers in the form of the contribution with articles to be published and disseminated through: the selection mechanism of the article, criticized by reviewer, and the editing process. Abstract

The study aims to investigate the correlation between parenting patterns and decision-making processes in late adolescence, this study adopted a quantitative methodology with a correlational design, involving 100 individuals of late adolescents as subjects. The measurement instrument consists of a parenting pattern scale that evaluates the dimensions of control, independence expectations, communication, and support, as well as a decision-making scale that measures self-efficacy, execution ability, social interaction, and adaptive capacity. Evaluation of the normality and linearity of the data showed that the data met the criteria for the application of parametric statistical analysis. Pearson's correlation analysis revealed a robust and meaningful positive association between parenting patterns and late adolescent decision-making (r = 0.747; p = 0.000). These findings imply that the improvement in the quality of parenting patterns correlates with an increase in adolescents' competence in carrying out autonomous decision-making. This study confirms the significance of supportive parenting patterns in facilitating the development.

Abstract

Education in the modern era demands that Islamic institutions be able to manage human resources professionally without abandoning the spiritual values that are their identity. This study aims to analyze human resource management strategies in improving the quality of educational staff at SMP Life Skill Nur 'Ala Nur, Cirebon City. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, through data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis is carried out through a process of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions with validity tests using source and technique triangulation. The results show that the HR management strategy at SMP Life Skill Nur 'Ala Nur, Cirebon City includes needs planning, competency development, performance evaluation, and empowerment of educational staff based on Islamic values. This strategy has proven effective in improving the professionalism, loyalty, and spirituality of educational staff. The implications of this study indicate that the integration of Islamic values and modern management principles can be a model for sustainable human resource development for other Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

The national curriculum is considered not fully able to accommodate the needs of local values ​​and the unique character of students, so schools have an important role in designing a contextual curriculum. Alfath IT High School in Sukabumi City, as an Islamic and technology-based school, is a relevant locus for studying the practice of Local Content curriculum planning in developing student character. This study aims to describe and analyze the Local Content curriculum planning process, identify the types of Local Content developed, and explain its contribution to the formation of religious, independent, and technologically-minded characters. The research method used is a qualitative case study approach, through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results show that Local Content curriculum planning is carried out systematically, collaboratively, and based on an analysis of student needs and the school's vision. The planning process includes setting character objectives, selecting contextual materials, practice-based learning strategies, and ongoing evaluation. The implications of this study confirm that mature Local Content curriculum planning can be an important foundation in strengthening character education in schools, while also providing practical references for curriculum developers and educational policy makers.

Abstract

This research analyzes the representation of the modern woman in Sophie Aulia's novel Azzamine, focusing on the main character, Jasmine, using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory. The study aims to deeply analyze Jasmine's personality structure (id, ego, superego) and emotional classification, and to identify and explain her internal conflicts that reflect the reality of modern women. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method , with data sourced from dialogues and character quotes in the novel that are relevant to the psychoanalytic study. The findings reveal Jasmine as a complex, independent, and spirited modern woman who experiences a profound internal struggle between her desire for personal freedom and autonomy (id) and the constraints of religious and traditional expectations (superego), with the ego serving as the mediator to find balance. These internal conflicts reflect the broader dilemma faced by modern Muslim adolescents in negotiating their individual identity while adhering to social and religious values. The research contributes a new perspective on gender dynamics in contemporary Indonesian popular literature.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of acceptance and effectiveness of the Go Pendamping application used by field facilitators at the Social Forestry Center of Palembang. The research adopts a quantitative approach using a survey method and is based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with the addition of the User Satisfaction variable. The variables examined include Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, Attitude Toward Using, Behavioral Intention to Use, and User Satisfaction. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to active field facilitators selected using purposive sampling, supported by interviews and literature review. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. The results of the outer model analysis indicate that all indicators meet the criteria of convergent validity, discriminant validity, and reliability. Furthermore, the inner model analysis shows that Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness have a significant influence on user attitudes and behavioral intentions. Behavioral Intention also demonstrates a strong effect on User Satisfaction. The findings conclude that the Go Pendamping application is well accepted by users and effectively supports reporting, monitoring, and evaluation activities in social forestry assistance. This study provides empirical evidence and recommendations for improving the implementation of information systems in public sector organizations.

Abstract

Reading literacy is a fundamental foundation for elementary school students to understand various subjects, but in reality, upper-grade students still face functional reading difficulties. This study aims to analyze the forms of reading difficulties, contributing factors, and the efforts and constraints of classroom teachers in addressing these issues among fifth-grade students at SDN Bojongsari 04. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews with the fifth-grade teacher. The results indicate that the primary difficulty is the students' inability to string words together and comprehend reading content, despite being familiar with letters. Contributing factors include low internal reading interest, a lack of parental guidance, and excessive gadget use at home. Teachers have made efforts through guided reading methods, extra hours, and providing appreciation, but effectiveness is hindered by time constraints and a lack of cooperation with parents. The study concludes that stronger synergy between schools and families is essential to overcome students' literacy barriers sustainably.

Abstract

The limited ability of teachers to develop varied learning media and appropriate to the learning material causes science learning activities to only use simple media in the form of printed books and blackboards. As a result, in learning activities, students' learning responses tend to be passive, lack of enthusiasm for learning, quickly feel bored, have low concentration on the material presented and are lazy to read textbooks, some students often do other activities such as chatting, daydreaming, doodling on books, even disturbing friends. This research is a research & development that aims to develop and produce Interactive Multimedia material on Substances and Their Changes in the subject of science for class VII of junior high school. Using the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The research subjects involved media experts, material experts and class VII students of SMP Negeri 8 Payakumbuh. Data collection instruments were observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that the validation test by two media experts obtained a very feasible category with percentages of 97.77% and 96.66%, respectively. While the validation test by material experts showed a feasibility level of 100% with a very feasible qualification. The results of the practicality questionnaire showed a percentage of 93% with a very practical category. The effectiveness test using the N-Gain Score obtained a value of 0.84 with a high effectiveness category, marked by an increase in the average learning outcome from 50.4 in the pre-test to 91.17 in the post-test. It was concluded that the developed Interactive Multimedia was declared feasible, practical, and effective for use in addressing the problems of learning science on the topic of Substance and Its Changes at SMP Negeri 8 Payakumbuh.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between metacognitive skills and critical thinking ability among junior high school students. The main focus of the study is to identify how metacognitive skills, as a form of awareness and self-regulation in thinking, contribute to students’ critical thinking ability during early adolescence. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The participants consisted of 42 junior high school students aged 12–15 years from Tengaran District, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using two standardized instruments: the Metacognitive Skills Scale (27 items; α = 0.977) and the Critical Thinking Scale based on Facione’s theory (20 items; α = 0.970). Data analysis was conducted using Spearman’s correlation test due to non-normal data distribution. The results revealed a very strong positive relationship between metacognitive skills and critical thinking ability (r = 0.894; p < 0.01). These findings indicate that the higher students’ ability to plan, monitor, and evaluate their thinking processes, the higher their critical thinking ability. The results emphasize the importance of implementing metacognitive-based learning strategies, such as self-reflection, learning monitoring, and guided discussion, to enhance students’ critical thinking skills at the junior high school level. This study contributes empirical evidence to the field of cognitive psychology by affirming the role of metacognition as a key predictor of critical thinking in early adolescence and provides a conceptual foundation for the development of 21st-century learning interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of audiovisual media and the improvement of learning outcomes for obligatory prayers through their application among seventh-grade students at Riyadhul Muttaqin As'adiyah Islamic Junior High School in Sungai Tawar Village, Mendahara District, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in three cycles: pre-cycle, cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III. The subjects were seventh-grade students participating in Islamic Religious Education lessons on the practical topic of obligatory prayers. The results show that the use of audiovisual media was implemented in a gradual and systematic manner. In cycle I, the media served as a means of introducing basic prayer movements and recitations. In cycle II, learning was developed through interactive approaches such as discussions, group practice, and analysis of correct and incorrect movements. In cycle III, the media served as reinforcement and reflection, while practice was conducted more independently. The use of audiovisual media not only increased students' attention and motivation to learn but also strengthened conceptual understanding and practical skills. Significant improvements in learning outcomes were seen in each cycle. In the pre-cycle, all students were in the Starting to Develop (MB) category. In the first cycle, this improved to Developing as Expected (BSH). In the second cycle, some students reached the Very Well Developing (BSB) category. In the third cycle, all students reached the Very Well Developing (BSB) category with a very high class average. These improvements encompassed cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects in learning the Fardhu Prayer. Thus, the use of audio-visual media has proven effective in improving the learning outcomes of Fardhu Prayer in seventh-grade students.

Abstract

This study examines the teaching of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) in Islamic Senior High Schools, which frequently encounters issues of school burnout, particularly when the instructional process still relies heavily on oral delivery and conventional presentations. This condition results in a lack of focus, learning motivation, and active student engagement throughout the teaching and learning activities. Based on preliminary observations and interviews conducted at MAN 3 Nganjuk, it was found that eleventh-grade students exhibited relatively high levels of school burnout in the SKI subject. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of Kahoot-based game learning in SKI to overcome students’ school burnout, as well as to examine the factors that facilitate and hinder the implementation of this learning activity at MAN 3 Nganjuk. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects included the SKI subject teacher, the vice principal for curriculum affairs, and students of classes XI-1 and XI-2 at MAN 3 Nganjuk. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation to confirm the trustworthiness of the research findings. The research findings indicate that: (1) The implementation of game-based SKI learning using Kahoot at MAN 3 Nganjuk was carried out properly and systematically. The learning process began with the opening session, followed by group presentations, a question-and-answer session, reinforcement of the material, and continued with the implementation of Kahoot using team mode, concluding with closing activities and the distribution of rewards. (2) The use of Kahoot has proven to be effective in reducing students’ school burnout, increasing their participation, focus, and learning motivation in SKI classes. Learning through team mode creates a more active and engaging classroom environment while encouraging positive competition. In addition, there was an improvement in students’ understanding of the material, as reflected in their involvement in discussions and their learning evaluation results. (3) The supporting factors for the implementation of Kahoot include the availability of facilities and infrastructure, students’ technological literacy, teachers’ competence, technical readiness and collaborative culture, platform flexibility, as well as effective learning management and motivation. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include unstable internet connections, device and infrastructure constraints, technical limitations of the platform, time constraints, and the pedagogical preferences of some teachers.
