Abstract

This study aims to describe innovations of social work practices in children's social services carried out by social workers during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Child Social Rehabilitation Institution in West Java. This research was conducted qualitatively with the data collection techniques such as interviews, focus group discussions and documentary studies of social worker reports while paying attention to the health protocol. The informants involved in this study were five social workers at the Social Rehabilitation Center for Children who need Special Protection (PRSAMPK) in Subang and Garut. The results showed that there were innovations made by social workers in handling children during the COVID-19 pandemic in the assessment process, intervention planning, intervention implementation, evaluation and termination. However, social workers still have obstacles in optimizing innovative social work practices in providing social services during the Covid-19 pandemic. These obstacles include the increased frequency of workloads in handling children because the clients are in the instisutuion, the limited number of social workers and supporting facilities for children's activities. The results of this study recommend that social workers begin to record their findings and successes in developing their innovations, so that they become learning materials for other social workers. Evidence best practices of social worker becomes a model in handling children during crisis situations in institutional settings.

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to examine the experiences of groups of men and women on Sodong Village RW 15 and RW 16, Kertajaya Village, West Bandung Regency in decision making and access to cash social assistance for COVID-19 and to analyze various factors that affect their relative participation using the framework. interectionality analytic work. The research method used is in the form of qualitative methods using primary data through semi-structured interviews, FGDs and informant observations. The results showed that men and women have a significant gap in accessing health system information and social protection. The role of women is identified as a passive group in their participation. This indicates that women's groups only know about decisions that have been taken, or only attend meetings and listen to decisions. The narrative of marginalization and domination appears in this study, this is driven by a variety of cross-cutting factors such as gender, education, age, wealth, meritocracy and personality. The characteristics of marginalization in the findings of this study vary depending on the combination of sources of marginalization itself, such as someone who is elderly, uneducated, female, and poor is more marginalized than someone who is uneducated and poor but male. The more factors a person has of the character of marginalization, the greater their exclusion in accessing information on the health system and social protection of COVID-19 as a whole. This study also reveals that women experience a higher level of gender-based discrimination, especially because women are part of the dominant patriarchal system.

Abstract

Center for Social Welfare (Puskesos) "As Salaam" is a village-level integrated service and referral institution for poor families by providing easy access to Social Protection and Poverty Reduction Programs (SPPRP). A qualitative approach was used in this research with helps from manager, facilitator, village head, chairman, and beneficiaries as informants. Data was collected by triangulate, combining interview, observation, and documentation study. Data validation was performed by credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability techniques. Data was analyzed by The Mile Model & Huberman. The results showed that Puskesos "As Salaam" is new but has been able to achieve its goals. It has ability to: (1) become data center; (2) serve, handle, and resolve the grievances of poor families; (3) refer complaints to higher services; and (4) facilitate the improvement of Social Welfare Integrated Data (SWID). Some achievements: awarded as the best puskesos in Bandung Regency, visited by domestic and foreign guests, done comparative study places, research locations and student field practices. So, it is a growing puskesos whose performance’s "quite effective". Recommendations: (1) It should be a one-stop village-level integrated service institution; (2) Conduct data collection immediately so that poor families are registered in SWID, (3) Socialize not only Kemensos’ program, but also other ministries/communities’; (4) Provide direct services; (5) Provide not only SPPRP, but also social rehabilitation and empowerment; (6) Provide SKPD representatives in Puskesos; and (7) Managers should be high-ranking primary officials to be able to coordinate with District SKPD head.

Abstract

Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran secara empiris efektivitas pelayanan sosial lanjut usia di Pondok Lansia Tulus Kasih. Secara khusus, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran empiris tentang 1) karakteristik responden, 2) pemahaman program pelayanan sosial, 3) ketepatan sasaran pelayanan sosial, 4) ketepatan waktu pelayanan sosial, 5) ketercapaian tujuan pelayanan sosial, dan 6) perubahan nyata pelayanan sosial di Pondok Lansia Tulus Kasih. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan format deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah lanjut usia di Pondok Lansia Tulus Kasih. Penarikan sampel anggota populasi sebanyak 24 responden menggunakan metode sensus/sampling jenuh. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan angket/questionnare, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Validitas alat ukur diuji melalui teknik validitas muka, sedangkan reliabilitas alat ukur diuji menggunakan uji statistik Alpha Cronbach. Data kuantitatif yang telah dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat efektivitas pelayanan sosial lanjut usia di Pondok Lansia Tulus Kasih berada pada kategori sangat efektif. Analisa masalah menunjukkan adanya permasalahan pada aspek ketepatan waktu pelayanan perawatan kesehatan dan aspek perubahan nyata program pengisian waktu luang. Analisa kebutuhan menghasilkan usulan program “Peningkatan Efektivitas Program Pengisian Waktu Luang Lanjut Usia di Pondok Lansia Tulus Kasih” yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kebahagiaan lanjut usia di Pondok Lansia Tulus Kasih. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui tiga kegiatan yaitu peningkatan kapasitas pegawai panti, identifikasi minat dan keinginan lanjut usia dalam kegiatan pengisian waktu luang, dan demonstrasi kegiatan-kegiatan pengisian waktu luang.

Abstract

This reasearch aims to obtain an in-depth picture of the role of Correctional Guardians in the Care of Correctional Inmates at the Class IIB Purworejo State Detention Center which is divided into several aspects, namely: the role of Correctional Guardians in administrative activities, the role of Correctional Guardians in coaching activities and the role of Correctional Guardians. in reporting activities. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. There were four informants, the informants were determined based on purposive sampling or with certain considerations of the researcher. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, observation and documentation studies. The results showed that the role of the Correctional Guardian in the treatment of WBP at the Class IIB Purworejo Rutan had not been carried out in accordance with its main duties and functions. This is because the correctional guardian is busy with other tasks. The inactivity of the role of the correctional guardian causes problems such as the lack of enthusiasm for inmates in coaching activities. In addition, it also prevented the inmates from carrying out coaching activities, the inmates were hampered in applying for conditional leave and parole, and the inmates felt confused when facing the Correctional Observation Team trial. Based on these problems, the researchers analyzed that there are several needs that must be met, namely: Correctional Guardians must understand the main duties and functions of Correctional Guardians. In addition, the correctional guardian carries out his role in administrative activities, coaching activities and reporting activities. The third need is the establishment of a communication forum as a means of overcoming the difficulties faced by the Prisoners (WBP). Source systems that can be utilized in solving problems and meeting needs are the guidance from the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Central Java, and Social Workers from the Sahabat Kapas Foundation. Abstract

Purpose of this study is to determine whether there are contributions from forms of social support for social workers, namely emotional support, appreciation, instrumental, and information on self-confidence in persons with disabilities at the Social Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities (PRSPD) and to find out which forms of support are most contribute to predicting confidence. This research is a quantitative research and used total sampling with 40 participants. The analysis technique used simple linear regression analysis. Instrument for measuring social support and self confidence construct by researcher using form of social support by House for Social Support and aspects of confidence by Lauster for self-confidence. The reliability of the social support instrument is 0.940 and the standardized loading factor (SLF) is 0.621-0.798, while the reliability of the self-confidence instrument is 0.947 and the standardized loading factor (SLF) is 0.617-0.932 . The results showed that simultaneously forms of social support contributed 84.9% to self-confidence. Emotional support contributed 38%, appreciation support contributed 41.1%, instrumental support contributed 51.5%, and information support contributed 38.6%. Based on the results, the researchers suggests that social workers should optimize social support, especially instrumental support to clients disabilities in order to encourage the confidence of clients.

Abstract

Patients with schizophrenia who have been declared recovered may relapse is accompanied by symptoms such as hallucinations or delusions. There are several factors that cause relapse in schizophrenic patients such as conflicts with family, surrounding communities, or work that can cause stress. With the problems and psychosocial conditions of the patient, coping or self-defense is needed to avoid the risk of recurrence and not cause new problems or losses for yourself and those around you. This study aims to explore the coping strategy in schizophrenia patients who follow the rehabilitation service of Wisma Laras Asri at Prof. Dr. Soerojo Hospital Magelang. Aspects of coping strategy by Lazarus and Folkman is divided into two: the problem focused coping and emotional focused coping. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods, data collection uses purposive sampling, and to to collect data using techniques including: interview, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that schizophrenic patients tend to use emotional focused coping in dealing with problems or pressures that befall them. The lack of skills and abilities of patients with schizophrenia in problem solving is one factor aspects of emotional focused coping more frequently used.

Abstract

Handling a juvenile delinquency problem has become a discussion form various disciplines, one of disciplines is social work which provides a different perspective form other. Juvenile delincquency in Cisambeng is described as a problem that has strong relationship with the social environment, so in its resolution social workers bring a strength perspective, a sociopsychological perspective, and a social system perspective that is unique in its practice. This study aims to provide an overview of the solving of juvenile delinquency problems by social worker together with the community itself and how the social worker’s perspective describes the phenomenon and offers a problem-solving solution. The approach that used to describe the empowerment process and results is qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The results that presented in this study are a narrative description of how social workers carry out the empowerment process and the results. Furthermore, it describes how the strength, sociopsychological, and social system perspective sees a problem and practice-based solution that has been done by social workers in handling juvenile delinquency problem in Cisambeng.

Abstract

This study attempts to describe the implementation of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Sawah Baru Subdistrict, Ciputat District, Tangerang Selatan City, which is adjacent to Bintaro economic area in Tangerang Selatan City and the DKI Jakarta Province. A descriptive qualitative approach is utilised to understand the phenomena experienced by research subjects. Data collected through observation, indepth interviews, literature study and documentation. The result shows the implementation of PKH in relation to the graduation of PKH recipients (Keluarga Penerima Manfaat/KPM PKH) in Sawah Baru, is in accordance with the technical procedures and guidelines for social assistance program released in 2019. Moreover, coordination and relations between the local government and the designated work unit in fulfilling its duties and functions is also in accordance with Law Number 23 of 2014 on Local Government. In addition, to encourage the graduation and improve community welfare, the KPM PKH facilitators in Sawah Baru have several procedural strategies as well as personal strategies. The procedural strategies are as described in the PKH technical guidelines issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs, while the personal strategies are taken by adjusting the dimensions of its internal strength. However, the number of KPMs graduated is only 3-5 percent of the national target, since there is a lack of awareness of the KPM PKH to improve their status into a prosperous family.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to get an overview about how the role of social worker in the child adoption at the Social Rehabilitation Center of Child with Special Protection Need “Paramita” Mataram. To obtain an empirical description of the characteristics of informants, the role of social workers in adopting children as administrators, experts, enablers, brokers, advocates, and educators. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The techniques used are in-depth interviews, documentation studies and field observations. The informants determined by using purposive in total 2 (two) informants consisting of social workers who handle child adoption at BRSAMPK “Paramita” Mataram. The results of research on the role of social workers in adopting children at BRAMPK "Paramita" Mataram show that there is an overlap of the main tasks and functions of social workers with other officers so that in carrying out their roles they are less than optimal. The proposed program is “Strengthening Human Resources Capacity of BRSMPK “Paramita” Mataram. This program aims to increase the knowledge of all human resources of BRAMPK “Paramita” Mataram related to their respective duties, principals and functions so that they can provide effective and efficient services.
