Abstract

This research was conducted to explore how the Problem-Based Learning Model can increase student participation and learning achievement. This research discusses the application of the Problem-Based Learning Model in increasing student participation and learning achievement at SMA Negeri 10 Maros in the subject of Sociology. This approach is implemented through two cycles using the Classroom Action Research method. The first cycle showed that problem-based learning required adjustments for students who were not used to it, with a learning completeness of 45.2%. The second cycle showed significant improvement, achieving a learning completeness of 77.4%. These results reflect positive changes in students' attitudes, interests, and activity, as well as an increase in their ability to complete individual and group assignments. The Problem-Based Learning Model has proven to be effective in improving the learning outcomes of sociology students, along with changes in attitudes and more active involvement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how high the level of scientific literacy ability in the competency aspect of class VIII students at SMPN 21 Makassar. This research is a descriptive survey research using a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMPN 21 Makassar as many as 207 students spread over 8 classes. Sampling used the Random Sampling technique and determined the number of samples using the Slovin formula, namely 136 students. The research instrument was in the form of 20 multiple-choice questions. Based on the results of data analysis it is known that the scientific literacy ability level in the competency aspect of class VIII students at SMPN 21 Makassar is 54.66% which is included in the low category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student biology learning outcomes by using the Discovery Learning learning model on Virus material in class X.4 of SMA Negeri 10 Maros. This research is a class action research that has been carried out in as many as 2 cycles. The subjects taken are all students of grade X.4 of SMA Negeri 10 Maros for the 2023/2024 school year. Data collection techniques in this study are (a). observation, (b). interview, (c). documentation, and (d). test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the percentage of student learning completeness is in the very good category, so it can be said that Discovery Learning is effectively used on Virus material, this is shown in cycle 1 the percentage of learning completeness is 00.0%, and in cycle 2 it increases to 100%. In the activities of students and teachers based on the results of observations and also on the model used by researchers, Discovery Learning is at an effective level.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the Problem Based Learning model on the scientific literacy abilities of class IV students at SD Negeri Tetebatu 1 Kabupaten Gowa Regency. This research uses quantitative research methods using True- experimental. The population in this study were all class IV students, the sample with a total of 28 students. The sampling method in this research used a saturated sampling technique. The results of the research show that the average score obtained by students in the pre-test class IV 76.15 which was in the sufficient category and the average score obtained by students in the post-test score in Class IV was 88.08 which was in the category Good. The results show that the use of the Problem Based Learning model can improve the scientific literacy skills of class IV. The results of data analysis obtained a sig value. 0,000. It turns out that the sig value. 0.000 is smaller than the probability value of 0.05 or in other words the value 0.05 > 0.000. So it can be concluded that, there is an influence of the Problem Based Learning model on the scientific literacy abilities of class IV at SD Negeri Tetebatu 1 Kab. Gowa Regency.

Abstract

Digital literacy have an important role in the learning process. Several articles state that the use of digital literacy can improve the quality and learning outcomes at high school level. To investigate the extent of the impact of digital literacy on learning, a meta-analysis was carried out on articles discussing digital literacy in the learning context and published in national journals with a SINTA index of 1-6. This research uses a meta-analysis design with a sample of 16 digital literacy articles on learning that meet the sample selection criteria. Research data was obtained from the analysis of these articles, and the results were analyzed by considering the effect size of each article based on the t-test. Research findings show that the average effect size value is 0.373, indicating that digital literacy has a significant impact on learning in the large effect category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through Scramble Type Cooperative Learning Model with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Latambaga. The research method used was Classroom Action Research. The results showed that by looking at the results of the second cycle test, the average student score was 85.23 with classical learning completeness of 87.5%. When compared to the first cycle test results with an average student score of 79.96 and classical learning completeness of 78.12%, there was an increase in the average score of 5.74 and learning completeness of 9.38%. After seeing the test results, the results of observations of students and teachers during the teaching and learning process, it was concluded that this research was stopped in cycle II. This is because the success indicator of this research has been achieved, namely classical learning completeness has been more than 80% of students obtained a score ≥ 68 (KKM that has been determined), namely 87.5% of students have obtained a score ≥ 68. So it can be concluded that the implementation of the Scramble Type Cooperative learning model with the Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics subjects, especially in the basic competencies of calculating the surface area and volume of cubes and beams of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Latambaga.

Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in shaping individuals capable of bringing positive change to society. Quality of learning is crucial in achieving this goal, particularly in the subject of Science (IPA), where appropriate learning approaches stimulate conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. The Discovery Learning model has garnered attention as an interactive approach that fosters learner-centered environments. This quasi-experimental study investigates the effectiveness of Discovery Learning on critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students in IPA. Two experimental groups, one using Discovery Learning and the other conventional methods, were compared. Results indicated significant improvement in critical thinking skills among the experimental group, supported by descriptive and inferential analyses. Findings underscore the efficacy of Discovery Learning in enhancing critical-thinking abilities, paving the way for more effective educational strategies. Keywords: discovery learning; critical thinking skills.
