Data from interviews with mothers said that the health information obtained was only in the form of lectures with KIA book aids, and never used media such as videos and leaflets when pregnant women took classes. The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of health education using leaflet and audiovisual media to increase knowledge about the importance of vitamin A for postpartum mothers in the work area of Martapura Barat Health Center in 2019. This research method uses Quasi Experiment with a non randomized control group pretest posttest design approach. The population in this study were pregnant women in two villages in the Martapura Barat Community Health Center working area. The sampling technique used saturated sampling as many as 45 people. The test results on the score of respondents' knowledge about the importance of vitamin A for postpartum mothers before and after being given health education using leaflet and audiovisual media experienced an increase with the difference in the average score of leaflets 1.88 and audiovisual media 2.86. Based on the results of the independent posttest t test it can be concluded that Sig. 0.032 <0.05 means that there are differences in the average value of the leaflet group and the average value of the audiovisual group. The conclusion of this study is that there is a difference in the effectiveness of health education in the leaflet and audiovisual groups towards increasing knowledge about the importance of vitamin A for postpartum mothers in the work area of West Martapura Community Health Center in 2019.

Abstract

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2021), neonatal deaths reached 20,154, primarily caused by low birth weight (LBW). Medical records at H. Boejasin Hospital revealed a significant increase in LBW births, from 52 (15.6%) in 2022 to 87 in 2023. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between maternal anemia, age, and parity with low birth weight (LBW) at H. Boejasin Hospital. This analytical descriptive study employed a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 379 newborns at H. Boejasin Hospital in 2023 using secondary data, this data uses Chisquer analysis. The results showed that 23% of newborns had LBW, while 37.3% of mothers had anemia. Mothers under 20 or over 35 years old accounted for 31.4%, and those with high-risk parity (1 and >3) comprised 25.5%. Bivariate analysis revealed significant relationships between maternal anemia (p-value < 0.001) and age (p-value = 0.009) with LBW, but no association between parity and LBW (p-value = 0.221). There is an association between anemia and age in laboring mothers with the incidence of Low Birth Weight (LBW) at RSUD H. Boejasin. Pregnant women should understand risk factors and prevention strategies for LBW to mitigate its occurrence.

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy examination is an important part of the birthing process and will have a positive impact on the pregnant mother and the fetus she is carrying. Pregnant women who know the benefits and importance of prenatal check-ups will be more compliant in carrying out ANC visits compared to pregnant mothers who don't know about it. Objective: This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and support from husbands on pregnant women's compliance in carrying out pre-natal check-up at the Tirta Jaya Community Health Center, Tanah Laut Regency. Method: ANC visit data was obtained from the KIA book, cohort register, while husband's knowledge and support variables were obtained through a questionnaire distributed to selected respondents. To determine the relationship between these two variables, the chi square test was used. Results: The results of the research conducted showed that a relationship was found between knowledge and compliance (p value of 0.029 ± 0.05). Pearson's Chi square test shows a figure of 5.776 or 57.76% for the knowledge variable and a p-value of 0.029 ± 0.05 for the husband's support variable. Conclusion: The results of the study show that knowledge and support have a strong relationship with the intensity of pregnancy check-up visits for pregnant women, as evidenced by the existence of a significant relationship between variables, namely husband's knowledge and support for compliance. Abstract

Preliminary study conducted from August 24-27, 2024, with 10 post-cesarean section mothers on the second day at the Nifas Room of RSUD H.Boejasin showed that 7 mothers had difficulties in breastfeeding their babies due to pain following the caesarean section. This pain made it challenging for them to find a comfortable position to nurse. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between mobilization and the smoothness of breast milk production in post-cesarean section mothers. This study used an observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all postpartum mothers who had undergone a cesarean section, totaling 30 respondents. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with accidental sampling. Data collection instruments were used to gather direct data through observation sheets adapted from a previous study. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The Spearman test yielded a p-value of 0.000, which means (p<0.05). This indicates that Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted, and Ho (null hypothesis) is rejected, suggesting that there is a significant relationship between mobilization and the smoothness of breast milk production in post-cesarean section mothers at RSUD H. Boejasin Pelaihari. The strength of the relationship is very strong and positive. There is a significant relationship between mobilization and the smoothness of breast milk production in post-cesarean section mothers, with a very strong positive correlation.

This article was written using the literature review method with a literature review taken from health journal databases such as Google Scholar and Pubmed; articles selected based on full text, free open access, and in English and Indonesian. The results show that treatment and prevention of underweight are very important for toddlers.
