Abstract

Gill net fishing gear is a passive fishing gear that usually blocks the swimming direction of fish, with the addition of bait as a lure is expected to increase the chances of fish that will be used as a target catch willing to enter the fishing gear. aims to analyze the composition of crab catches on different baits and analyze the size distribution of crabs. The expected benefits of this research are as one of the information materials for efficient crab fishermen about the use of chicken intestine waste bait and fly fish against crab catches with bottom gill net fishing gear related to the availability of fish bait stocks that are uncertain and quite expensive prices. This research was conducted in January - February 2022. From the results of the t-test analysis, the tcount value was obtained at 5.014 while the t-table was obtained at 2.042 with a significance value of 0.000. Because the t-count value is greater than the t-table and the significance value is smaller than the real level of 5% or 0.05, it is concluded that there is a difference in catches between the chicken intestine bait group and fly fish bait with an average catch using chicken intestine bait higher than using fly fish bait

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of different substrates + water volume on the growth and survival rate of white shrimp Penaeus marguensis. This research was carried out from March to April 2019. The research was carried out experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tried were mangrove soil substrate + 36 liters of brackish water media, sand substrate + 45 liters of brackish water media, and 54 liters of plastic substrate. The sampling technique used is probability sampling with random sampling (simple random sampling). The research variables consist of absolute growth and survival rate. The highest absolute growth was obtained in the sand substrate treatment + 45-liter water media volume of 3.91 grams and the lowest was in the plastic substrate layer treatment + 54-liter brackish water media volume of 2.94 grams, and the highest survival rate was obtained in the sand + substrate treatment. the volume of 45-liter water media was 74% and the lowest was in the treatment of plastic substrate layer + 54-liter brackish water media volume of 53%. Meanwhile, water quality is in the optimal range for raising Penaeus marguensis shrimp. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the effect of water media volume on the growth and survival rate of Penaeus marquess shrimp had a significant effect.

Abstract

Portunus pelagicus is one type of crab that has a very high economic value. The high selling price of crab encourages an increase in fishing effort, where the pressure of increasing fishing effort can cause less catch per effort obtained. To maintain the sustainability of the availability of fisheries resources, improve community welfare, equality of cultivation technology, investment development, increase foreign exchange, and development of cultivation and crab (Portunus spp.), the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12 of 2020 was issued to re-regulate the provisions for catching and/or releasing crab, therefore this study aims to determine the feasibility of catching crab (Portunus pelagicus) based on the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12 of 2020. This study uses a quantitative method by measuring the frequency distribution of carapace width and crab weight which will then determine the frequency of each class by entering the width data of each crab based on the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12 of 2020. The results showed that more than 90% of the crab catches followed the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12 of 2020, namely carapace width size above 10 (ten) cm and weight above 60 (sixty) grams per tail. Although the catch of unfit crabs is less than 10%, it should be released back to nature to support the sustainability of crab.

Abstract

Penumpukan sampah di wilayah pesisir merupakan ancaman nyata terhadap kondisi perairan karena dalam jangka pendek dapat mempengaruhi kualitas habitat biota perairan dan dalam jangka waktu penimbunan yang lebih lama dapat menyebabkan biomagnifikasi dan penurunan kualitas rantai makanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik sampah laut berdasarkan jenis, ukuran, dan massa di perairan Kecamatan Galesong Kabupaten Takalar yang menjadi pusat kegiatan pariwisata dan perikanan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret-April 2023 di Pantai Beba (pelabuhan ikan) dan Pantai Sampulungan (kawasan wisata). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian survei dengan cara mengumpulkan sampah laut berdasarkan bentangan transek garis pantai sepanjang 100 m dan lebar 30 m serta mengamati parameter oseanografi yaitu arus, gelombang, dan pasang surut. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan parametrik dengan menggunakan uji ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis sampah laut yang mendominasi di kedua stasiun tersebut adalah sampah plastik (1165 item). Berdasarkan ukurannya, ciri yang dominan pada kedua lokasi pengamatan adalah sampah berukuran makro (3078 item). Total massa sampah laut yang diperoleh dari kedua stasiun pengamatan adalah 198,46 kg. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (P>0,05) antara sampah laut di wilayah pesisir dengan kegiatan utama pariwisata dan pelabuhan perikanan ditinjau dari jenisnya tetapi tidak berbeda nyata berdasarkan ukurannya.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the species composition and community structure of Echinodermata and their relationship with seagrass cover and oceanographic parameters in the Puntondo Coastal Area. The study was carried out from October to November 2021. Seagrass observations and samples of Echinodermata used the random sampling method at three stations representing natural zones, near settlements, and ecotourism. The observations used the line transect method by stretching the transect line perpendicular to the sea for 100 meters with a distance between transects of 50 meters. The results showed that the number of echinoderm species composition identified was 15 species from 4 classes. The community structure of Echinodermata at three stations indicates a moderate level of diversity, a high uniformity index indicates an even distribution and a dominance index indicates that no species dominates. The percentage area of seagrass cover at three station points in the Puntondo Coastal Area belongs to the medium cover category. The condition of the waters on the coast of the Puntondo area at three station points meets the quality standard requirements for marine biota. The relationship between dominance, seagrass cover, and pH showed a positive relationship while abundance, diversity, uniformity, temperature, salinity, brightness, and currents showed a negative relationship.

Abstract

Squid is an Indonesian export product that has high economic value, sharing the type of squid which is classified as cuttlefish (Loligo chinensis.). This research aims to determine the length and weight of squid depending on the color of the lights and the depth of the water, the time it takes for the squid to gather in the fishing area, and the level of effectiveness of the squid in different LED lights. Sampling was taken in the waters of North Galesong District, Takalar Regency, with seven repetitions of blue and green lights. This research is included in quantitative research using experimental fishing and data collection using survey methods. The results of the data obtained are described in a comparative descriptive manner. analysis of the pattern of the relationship between the weight and length of the squid mantle obtained a value of W= 1.5629L^0.0017. Correlation value 84.739, contribution of 96.38% and 3.62%. squid caught with LED lights at a depth of 1 meter, 55 fish, and 3 meters, 25 fish. Frequency distribution of the length of squid (Loligo chinensis) in the North Galesong waters, distribution of weight and length of squid mantle at a depth of 1 meter, frequency of squid mantle length between 9.3–11.1 cm, stagnant frequency 15–16.8. Squid weight frequency 27–32g stagnant frequency 81–95g. The depth distribution is three meters, the squid mantle length frequency ranges between 7.5 – 9.3 cm, and the stagnant frequency is 15.1 – 16.9 cm. Squid weight frequency 12–27g, drop frequency 60 – 75 g. Observation results of salinity values ​​in North Galesong waters are 28-31%, pH values ​​are 6-7. Current speed 0.22 m/s. The squid catch was 80 samples, at intervals of 1, 2, and 3 hours, the catch at an interval of 2 hours was a total of 42, at an interval of 3 hours 23, and in 1 hour only 15 squid. The statistical test results show that the results for the two LED light colors are 2.6177, which is smaller than the t-table 2.1788.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine how the marketing chain of Eucheuma spinosum seaweed and the quality of dry Eucheuma spinosum seaweed originate from each marketing chain in the research area. This research was expected to provide information to the public regarding the marketing chain of dried Eucheuma spinosum seaweed. This research was held from July to August 2021 in Darawa Village, South Kaledupa District, Wakatobi Regency, and the Laboratory of Water Productivity and Quality, Faculty of Marine Science and Fisheries, Hasanuddin University. This type of research is quantitative and qualitative research (mixed method). The results showed that the seaweed market chain originating from Darawa Village, South Kaledupa District, Wakatobi Regency, consists of fishermen as producers, local collectors, interregional collectors, and intercity collectors. The results of the research on the quality of dry Eucheuma spinosum seaweed showed that the water content at the fishermen level was 62,212%, local collectors were 63,485%, and inter-regional collectors were 64,139%. The viscosity test value of dry Eucheuma spinosum seaweed at the fishermen level is 30.77 cps, local collectors are 34.57 cps, and inter-regional collectors are 32.40 cps. This research concludes that the seaweed from Darawa Village has penetrated the inter-regional market while the quality of the seaweed at each level of the market chain does not show a significant difference.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development of catches in maintaining the sustainability of the octopus business and the supply chain in marketing fresh octopus in Makassar. This research was conducted from March to May 2023. The research is classified as a qualitative method with a survey method of fishermen's catches and the marketing supply chain for fresh octopus. The types of octopus caught were Octopus vulgaris and Octopus cyanea with catches reaching 1,000-1,600 kg/trip for 20 days of catching. Fresh octopus marketing supply chain uses channels, margins, and marketing efficiency. In this research, three marketing channel patterns for fresh octopus were obtained: the first is fishermen - consumers, the second is fishermen - retailers - consumers and the third is fishermen - collectors - suppliers - consumers. The most efficient marketing channel is channel three, namely fishermen - traders - collectors - suppliers - and consumers because many suppliers are involved so the marketing margin is high and many profits are made. The third marketing margin has a large profit of IDR. 88,000/kg, the first marketing margin has the lowest profit of IDR 13,000/kg and the second marketing margin is IDR. 25,000/kg. There is development and increase in catches and the formation of several supply chains

Abstract

This study aims to determine the irritant properties of human skin to Gracilaria verrucosa solid soap preparations and organoleptic values. the method used was a pre-experimental design type one group pretestposttest and the data were described descriptively. The results showed that ALT and pH were highest in the control sample with values of 1.9 x 104 colonies/gram and 9.2, respectively. The highest organoleptic value is soap preparation without the addition of Gracilaria verrucosa with a value of 3.2 because it has an attractive appearance with a shiny clear colour. The conclusion of the results showed that the preparation of Gracilaria verrucosa solid soap with the composition of base soap, Gracilaria verrucosa, and essential oil did not irritate the skin of volunteers and organoleptically, the value of the level of Panelists' liking for Gracilaria verrucosa solid soap preparations was highest in soap preparations without the addition of Gracilaria verrucosa compared to soap preparations with the addition of Gracilaria verrucosa. soap preparations with the addition of Gracilaria verrucosa.

Abstract

Bandeng merupakan salah satu jenis ikan yang banyak digemari karena merupakan jenis ikan yang paling banyak diproduksi untuk dikonsumsi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli-Agustus 2023 di laboratorium UPT. Balai Penerapan Mutu Produk Perikanan (BPMPP). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui daya simpan ikan bandeng bajabu (Chanos chanos) asal Kabupaten Maros dan Kabupaten Pinrang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode komparatif dengan menggunakan uji Independent sample T-test. Parameter yang diukur untuk mengetahui umur simpan adalah uji ALT dengan lama penyimpanan (0 hari, 14 hari, dan 30 hari) yang masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Parameter kadar air dengan lama penyimpanan (0 hari, 7 hari, 14 hari, 21 hari, dan 30 hari) dilakukan dengan 1 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji ALT bajabu Maros dan Pinrang mengalami peningkatan pada penyimpanan 0 hari, 14 hari, dan 30 hari, dimana hasil uji ALT tertinggi mencapai 8,6 x 103 untuk bajabu Maros dan 9,1 x 103 untuk bajabu Pinrang, keduanya pada saat penyimpanan. masa penyimpanan 30 hari. Sedangkan kadar air bajabu Maros mengalami peningkatan dari masa penyimpanan 0 hari, 7 hari, 14 hari, 21 hari, dan 30 hari, sedangkan kadar air bajabu Pinrang mengalami penurunan pada masa penyimpanan 14 hari, dimana kadar air tertinggi uji kadar mencapai 14,65% untuk bajabu Maros dan 8,31% untuk bajabu Pinrang, keduanya pada masa penyimpanan 30 hari.
