Abstract

This study aims to analyze word-formation processes and their stylistic functions in selected poems by Emily Dickinson. The research employs a qualitative case study design. Data consisting of words and phrases containing morphological processes were collected through documentation and analyzed through identification, classification, and interpretation based on morphological and stylistic theories. The findings reveal three major word-formation processes: derivation, compounding, and inflection. Derivation emerges as the most stylistically dominant process because it produces abstraction, semantic contrast, foregrounding, and emotional intensification. Compounding strengthens imagery and semantic density, while inflection supports grammatical coherence and temporal perspective in the poems. The analysis indicates that the use of these morphological processes contributes significantly to the artistic and linguistic characteristics of Dickinson’s poetry. Furthermore, the findings highlight the relationship between linguistic form and literary expression in creating poetic effects and deeper meaning. The study demonstrates that morphology functions not only grammatically but also stylistically in constructing poetic meaning and expression. Therefore, morphological analysis provides valuable insights into how language resources are utilized to enhance the aesthetic quality and interpretive richness of poetry.

Abstract

Language skills play a fundamental role in human communication and knowledge development. Among the four language skills, reading is a receptive skill that allows individuals to receive, comprehend, and interpret information through written texts. One approach that goes beyond mere comprehension is creative reading, which encourages readers to think critically, imagine, and generate new ideas based on texts they read. Generation Z, born between 1995 and 2010, is highly familiar with digital information, particularly news texts circulating through social media and online platforms. However, their reading activities have not been optimally utilized to produce creative literary works. This study aims to examine the application of creative reading in converting news texts into short stories among Generation Z. A descriptive quantitative method was employed involving 17 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Respondents were given digital news texts to convert into short stories, assessed using a rubric comprising five aspects: content relevance, creativity, intrinsic elements, language use, and coherence, with a maximum score of 25.

Abstract

This study, entitled "The Role of Teachers in Addressing Learning Difficulties in Fifth-Grade Students at SD Negeri 10 Langkai," aims to answer the following questions: identifying factors influencing student learning difficulties, how teachers identify these difficulties, and the strategies teachers employ to address these learning challenges. The purpose of this study is to explore the factors contributing to student learning difficulties and the roles and strategies teachers employ in identifying and addressing learning difficulties in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Langkai. This study employed a qualitative, descriptive approach. The subjects were 16 fifth-grade students and one homeroom teacher. Data collection techniques included interviews and observations. Data were analyzed using data reduction and conclusion-drawing methods. Observations in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Langkai revealed several clear indications of students' low understanding of mathematics. First, cognitive disorientation, characterized by confused facial expressions and an inability to provide appropriate verbal responses when the teacher asks questions. Second, students repeatedly ask questions. Third, students experience difficulties in solving problems. To address this issue, teachers focus on students experiencing learning difficulties by providing problems and repeating material until students understand what is being taught, while also utilizing interactive learning media such as Canva and Wayground. Throughout the learning process, teachers employ Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methods.

Abstract

Pancasila Education at SMAN 2 Lamongan, the lecture method is still theoretical. This causes students' learning interest to be low. This condition causes the learning process to feel monotonous, causes boredom, and decreases active student participation. This study aims to examine the effect of implementing the Window Shopping method on students' learning interest in the Pancasila Education subject in class XI of SMAN 2 Lamongan. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type and a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 70 students consisting of 35 students in the experimental class (XI-10) and 35 students in the control class (XI-12). Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires, and data analysis used descriptive analysis and inferential statistics. The results of the study showed that the average score of students' learning interest in the experimental class was higher than in the control class. This was proven through the nonparametric Mann-Whitney U test which showed the Asymp. Sig. value. (2-tailed) of 0.000 which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05, so H₀ is rejected and Hₐ is accepted. In addition, the results of the N-Gain analysis show an average score of 0.7013 or 70.13% which is included in the fairly effective criteria. This value indicates that there is a significant increase in student learning interest after the application of the Window Shopping method. Thus, it can be concluded that the Window Shopping method is effective in increasing learning interest because it is able to encourage active involvement, interaction, and a more interesting learning experience.

Abstract

The family is the first and primary institution established by God as the foundation of Christian education. Through the family, Christian faith, moral values, and character are instilled in children from an early age. This study aims to examine the role of the family as the basis of Christian education by focusing on parents as the primary educators, Christian family spirituality, faith education for children and adolescents, challenges faced by modern families, and the application of Christian parenting. The research employs a qualitative method using a library research approach by collecting and analyzing various literature sources relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that the success of Christian education within the family is greatly influenced by the active involvement of both fathers and mothers in guiding the spiritual lives of their children. Fathers serve as spiritual leaders and role models within the family, while mothers function as educators and caregivers who instill Christian values in daily life. Children also have the responsibility to honor their parents and grow in faith toward God. Furthermore, family spirituality expressed through family prayer, Bible reading, and family worship serves as an essential foundation for the spiritual growth of family members. Amid the rapid development of technology, social media, and secular culture, Christian families face various challenges that require parenting practices grounded in biblical principles. Therefore, Christ-centered families can effectively nurture a generation with strong faith, good character, and the ability to become witnesses of Christ in society.

Abstract

Christian Religious Education plays an important role in shaping individuals who possess not only intellectual knowledge but also a healthy spiritual life and godly character. In the midst of rapid technological advancement, globalization, and moral value shifts, the development of Christian spirituality and character formation has become increasingly essential. Christian spirituality refers to a personal and living relationship with God through Jesus Christ, while Christian character formation is the process of developing attitudes, values, and behaviors that reflect the character of Christ in daily life. This paper aims to examine the concepts of Christian spirituality and character formation through discussions on Christian character education, the spirituality of teachers and students, Christian ethics in education, integrity formation, and spiritual disciplines. The study employs a library research method by collecting and analyzing relevant sources, including the Bible, books, journals, and other academic references. The findings reveal that Christian spirituality and character are closely interconnected and cannot be separated. Christian character education, which is grounded in the Word of God, helps develop individuals who demonstrate love, honesty, humility, responsibility, and integrity. Furthermore, the spirituality of teachers and students serves as the foundation of the educational process, while Christian ethics, integrity, and spiritual disciplines play significant roles in shaping lives that are pleasing to God. Therefore, the consistent application of Christian spirituality and character formation can produce individuals who are spiritually mature, possess noble character, and are capable of being witnesses of Christ in society.

Abstract

Social change and modernization may reduce the use of material cultural lexicons that function as media for transmitting local knowledge. One form of material culture that still preserves a traditional naming system is Madurese pottery. However, studies linking pottery nomenclature with linguistic representation and local wisdom among artisan communities remain limited. This study aims to identify and classify lexical units in the naming of pottery types and parts, as well as analyze the local wisdom values contained in them. This research applied a qualitative method with an ethnolinguistic approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation involving traditional pottery artisans in Sumedangan Village, Pademawu District, Pamekasan Regency, Madura. Data analysis included lexicon inventory, classification of naming principles, and ethnolinguistic interpretation of cultural values. The findings revealed 12 lexical units formed through five naming principles: distinctive properties, similarity, parts, sound imitation, and word shortening. The dominance of distinctive properties and similarity indicates that artisans construct cultural knowledge through practical object functions, bodily experience, and interaction with the environment. The naming system also reflects functional, ecological, and socio-spiritual values, confirming that language represents cultural knowledge and community identity. These findings support efforts to preserve Madurese cultural heritage through ethnolinguistic documentation sustainably.
