Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the physical fitness profile of Taekwondo athletes at Universitas Negeri Padang based on standardized fitness components. A descriptive quantitative design was employed involving 25 athletes (13 males and 12 females) selected through purposive sampling. Physical fitness was assessed using the Tes Kebugaran Jasmani Indonesia (TKJI), which includes speed (60-m sprint), upper-body strength (pull-ups/flexed-arm hang), abdominal endurance (sit-ups), explosive power (vertical jump), and cardiorespiratory endurance (1200-m/1000-m run). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and categorized according to TKJI norms. The results showed that male athletes had a mean score of 12.69 (SD = 2.56), while female athletes had a mean score of 12.00 (SD = 2.98). The majority of athletes were classified in the “poor” category (61.5% males; 41.7% females), indicating suboptimal fitness levels. In conclusion, the physical fitness profile of Taekwondo athletes in this setting is below expected standards, highlighting the need for more structured and sport-specific training programs to improve performance.

Abstract

Many consider entrepreneurship education (EE) a significant factor in deciding a person's inclination towards green entrepreneurship (GEI). Yet, few have examined the possible mediating effect of green economy attitude (GEA) in how participants' entrepreneurship education influences their intention to initiate environment-oriented business, especially in a developing country scenario. This paper examines the direct and indirect links between entrepreneurship education, green economy attitude, and green entrepreneurship intention among Indonesian university students. A quant survey cross-sectional design was employed to collect data from 196 students who had attended entrepreneurship classes. A structured Likert scale questionnaire was used to collect the data which were then analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the support of SmartPLS 4 software. The measurement model showed good results in terms of convergent validity (AVE > 0.50), composite reliability (CR > 0.70), and discriminant validity (HTMT < 0.85). The structural model unveiled the fact that entrepreneurship education has a great impact on green economy attitude (β = 0.643, p < 0.001) and green entrepreneurship intention (β = 0.494, p < 0.001). Green economy attitude, on the other hand, also has a significant positive impact on green entrepreneurship intention (β = 0.472, p < 0.001). Further mediation analysis showed that green economy attitude acts as a partial mediator of the entrepreneurship education-green entrepreneurship intention link. The results of this study provide empirical support for green entrepreneurship literature in the context of the Indonesian higher education sector.

Abstract

Employee performance is a critical issue in manufacturing companies facing production and quality pressures. PT Chang Shin Indonesia Factory Cikampek has experienced declining production output, indicating the need to examine factors influencing employee performance. This study aims to analyze the partial and simultaneous effects of employee engagement and job satisfaction on employee performance among production employees. A quantitative associative design was employed using purposive non-probability sampling. Ninety-seven employees were selected from a population of 2,650 workers. Data were collected through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire adapted from validated previous studies. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing with IBM SPSS 25. The results show that employee engagement positively and significantly affects employee performance (β = 0.332; p = 0.001), while job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.194; p = 0.002). Simultaneously, both variables significantly explain employee performance (F = 94.195; p < 0.001) with a contribution of 67%. Although limited to one manufacturing company, the findings suggest that improving employee engagement and job satisfaction can strengthen organizational performance and productivity.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Pencak Silat catching technique model based on the 2022 competition rules. The research used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The study was conducted at UPTD KBOR Dispora Sumatera Barat, involving seven expert validators and fifteen athletes as respondents. Data were collected using validation sheets and response questionnaires, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results showed that the developed model achieved a validation score of 95.57%, categorized as very feasible. Athlete responses also indicated a very high level of acceptance, with an average score of 97.78%. These findings demonstrate that the model is valid and practical as a learning medium to support athletes in understanding and applying catching techniques based on updated competition rules. Therefore, the developed model can be effectively used in Pencak Silat training.

Abstract

The premarital tradition of Nyemendo indigenous Orang Rimba in Jambi contains three philosophical values: active patience, practical competence, and communal decisions. These three values have been ethnographically documented by researchers before, but they have never been transformed into musical works and their success has been verified. This article discusses the creation of a three-part musical composition program (exposition, development, recapitulation) with the aim of answering musical questions, namely: what kind of sound represents active patience, what kind of sound represents practical competence, what musical parameters translate active patience into habitus, and what kind of instrumentation represents communal decision. This study uses three theoretical frameworks: Bourdieu's habitus for the social dimension, Tarasti's musical semiotics for the musical sign dimension, and Feld's acoustemology for the dimension of sound as knowledge. Based on this framework, three compositional concepts were formulated: static minimalism for active patience, gestural virtuosity for practical competence, and discontinuous alternation without soloist initiative for communal decisions. The musical material comes from the main notes of the Orang Rimba ritual mantras as well as the sounds of the forest which are treated as materials equivalent to the tone. The results of technical verification through score analysis proved the existence of the three concepts in 139 beats with a duration of 18 minutes. The results of empirical verification through a hearing test with three respondents (composers, art practitioners, and Tumenggung Urip as traditional elders) showed an average score of 4.33 for active patience, 4.67 for practical competence, and 4.33 for communal decisions (scale 1–5). This composition succeeded in filling the research gap by presenting Nyemendo's philosophical values into a verified sound medium.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of implementing a Proxmox Virtual Environment–based virtual laboratory on students’ cognitive and psychomotor learning outcomes in Computer and Network Engineering, addressing limited physical server availability at SMK Negeri 1 Batam. A quasi-experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design was employed involving 59 students selected through purposive sampling. Cognitive outcomes were measured using a validated 40-item test (KR-20 reliability), while psychomotor skills were assessed using a performance rubric with inter-rater reliability (Cohen’s Kappa). Data were analyzed using Independent Sample t-test and N-Gain, preceded by normality and homogeneity tests. The experimental group showed significantly higher outcomes than the control group (p < 0.05). Cognitive N-Gain reached 82.68% (high), compared to 70.30% in the control group. Psychomotor N-Gain was 83.48%, exceeding the control group’s 76.97%, indicating more consistent technical performance. Proxmox-based virtual laboratories are effective in enhancing learning outcomes and provide a scalable solution for vocational education with limited infrastructure.
