Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of using smartphones in school. This is because so many schools still prohibit carrying/using smartphones in school, and there is a need to consider smartphones as a learning medium for improving the quality of learning. This study is a qualitative research model with a stage application approach of the Policy Analysis Process developed by Brewer. It was conducted at Senior High Schools in Medan City, from June to September, 2020.  The first analysis process carried out was an initial survey of the need for smartphones as learning media. The analysis results in each stage proved that positive impacts are made when smartphones are used as a learning medium, since the technology that has been most mastered by students is the smartphone. Completion is reached through the stages of initiation, estimation, selection, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. Results show that smartphones could be accepted as learning media in high schools in Medan at the selection stage, adding that policy makers should supervise the use of smartphones in school by establishing supervisory rules. Nevertheless, one of the factors that contributed significantly to this conclusion is the menace of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The analysis results are expected to be accepted by all stakeholders in the society and be used as basis for making policies that accept smartphones as a learning medium. However, further analyses are required so that the established rules can be made to conform to standard educational procedures.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of DER, DPR, and ROE on stock returns with PBV as the intervening variable. The research population is non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study uses quantitative research with descriptive statistical methods to measure the level of influence of DER, DPR, ROE on stock returns through PBV in companies listed in Indonesia. The sampling method used is purposive sampling. The data used in this study is secondary data derived from financial statement information published through the Indonesia Stock Exchange website, namely in the 2017-2019 observation period. Analysis using multiple regression with path analysis. The results of the study conclude that DER, DPR, and ROE have no direct effect on PBV, DER and ROE have no direct effect on stock returns, while PBV and DPR have a direct effect on stock returns. PBV affects stock returns in a negative direction. DPR affects stock returns in a negative direction, which means that investors are more oriented towards investment projects that provide long-term returns. Sobel test results prove that PBV does not mediate the effect of DER, DPR, and ROE on stock returns. The novelty of this research is the PBV taken from the December financial statements as an intervening variable, while the stock return used is the realization of the average stock return two months after the announcement of the financial statements.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the school's collaboration with industry and business community (DU/DI) in improving the quality of Vocational High School (SMK) graduates. This study applies a qualitative descriptive approach of case study design at SMK Negeri 3 Jayapura. The researcher as the key instrument of the research conducted an in-depth interview with principals, teachers/public relations, students, school committees, supervisors as well as industry and business community (DU/DI). Participatory observation and document analysis were also utilized in order to support the data gathering process. The techniques for validating the data were gathered by extending the time of observation, peer discussion and triangulation. The data was analyzed qualitatively by means of data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of this study indicate that the school's collaboration with industry and business community (DU/DI) in improving the quality of SMK Negeri 3 Jayapura is favorable but still needs some improvement. It still requires some adjustments in term of alignment of the data-based industry-based curriculum which involves industry and business community (DU/DI) from its early establishment, the presence of industrial teachers which has not yet touched the substance of industrial practice and the absorption of graduates is still limited to MoUs bound by contracts and high-achieving graduates.

Abstract

In addition to the ever-changing conditions, Islamic education faces increasingly complex obstacles. The digital era shows that the implementation of tarbawi interpretation in Islamic education can provide great benefits to students and society. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of tarbawi interpretation in Islamic education in 2021. The research method used is a systematic literature review. Data from the scopus database is considered primary data, while data from the dimensions database is considered secondary data. The data obtained were 110 in the Scopus database and 8 documents in Dimensions. In the analysis, however, only 20 documents were included in the criteria. Research results suggest that the implementation of tarbawi interpretation in education is an obstacle. These challenges include limitations in understanding, social change, technological advancement, controversy, language barriers, and a lack of support from educational institutions and society.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate the content validity and preliminary feasibility of an integrated stress management training program for athletes. A Research and Development design adapted from the Borg and Gall model was employed, focusing on program development and expert validation. The program integrated Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques across seven structured sessions. Three experts in sports psychology, coaching, and Papuan socio-cultural contexts evaluated the program using a five-point validation instrument. Quantitative data were analyzed using Aiken’s V and Cronbach’s alpha, while qualitative feedback was thematically analyzed to guide program refinement. The seven-session program demonstrated high content validity (Aiken’s V = 0.805), internal consistency (α = 0.888), and an overall feasibility score of 86.3%. Session-level feasibility scores ranged from 81.3% to 89.3%, indicating consistently positive expert evaluations. Qualitative feedback supported refinements in content clarity, implementation procedures, and cultural relevance. The integrated MBSR–CBT stress management program demonstrated satisfactory content validity and preliminary feasibility based on expert evaluation. These findings support further pilot testing with athletes to assess acceptability, implementation, and preliminary effects before its effectiveness on stress, mental well-being, and athletic performance can be established.

Abstract

This study examined women’s roles and gender dynamics in community-based mangrove conservation and formulated gender-responsive management recommendations in Bahowo, Indonesia. A qualitative case study involved 106 households and key informants through interviews, focus group discussions, observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the Harvard Gender Analysis Framework and Gender Analysis Pathway. Women contributed through productive, reproductive, and socio-cultural activities, particularly mangrove nurseries, livelihood activities, household management, and community initiatives. However, their participation in formal decision-making and policy formulation remained limited, revealing disparities in access, control, and governance despite substantial conservation involvement. Effective community-based mangrove conservation requires moving from gender-neutral to gender-responsive governance by institutionalizing women’s participation, strengthening leadership and technical capacities, expanding livelihood opportunities, and ensuring meaningful involvement in planning, implementation, monitoring, and systematic evaluation.
