Abstract

The Universitas Ma'soem Library  Universityhas undertaken various initiatives to improve user satisfaction, including the provision of professional librarians, the regular expansion of collections, the implementation of a computerized circulation system using the Online Public Access Catalog, and the development of a digital library. In 2025, the library recorded a total of 12,707 visits. Although this number indicates that the library is actively utilized by the academic community, visit statistics alone do not adequately reflect users’ satisfaction with the services provided. This study aims to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of librarians’ services, collections, and the utilization of information technology on user satisfaction at the Universitas Ma'soem Library. The study employed a quantitative method with a survey approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, literature review, documentation study, and the distribution of questionnaires to library users. The data were analyzed using validity, reliability, and normality tests, as well as multiple correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, the coefficient of determination, t-tests, and F-tests. The results show that librarians’ services have a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction, contributing 64.0%; collections contribute 62.6%; and the utilization of information technology contributes 62.1%. Simultaneously, these three variables have a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction, with a combined contribution of 76.4%. The correlation analysis indicates a very strong relationship between librarians’ services, collections, and the utilization of information technology and user satisfaction. These findings suggest that improving user satisfaction requires strengthening the quality of librarians’ services, developing relevant collections, and optimizing library information technology.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of digital sharia marketing (DSM) on consumer trust and loyalty, and the mediating role of trust, among digital banking users of Islamic banks. DSM is defined as the use of digital channels to communicate and deliver Islamic banking services in a manner that explicitly embeds Sharia compliance, transparency, and Islamic communication ethics, which distinguishes it from general digital marketing that is oriented mainly toward reach and conversion. Using a quantitative survey design, data were collected from 300 Islamic bank customers who actively use the banks' digital services and were analysed through path analysis on standardized composite scores, with the indirect effect tested using the Sobel test and a Monte Carlo confidence interval. The results show that DSM has a significant positive effect on consumer trust (? = 0.505, p < 0.001) and on consumer loyalty (total effect ? = 0.569; direct effect ? = 0.385; both p < 0.001), while trust significantly affects loyalty (? = 0.365, p < 0.001). Trust partially mediates the DSM–loyalty relationship (indirect effect = 0.184; 95% CI [0.126; 0.250]). DSM explains 25.5% of the variance in trust (R² = 0.255), and DSM and trust jointly explain 42.3% of the variance in loyalty (R² = 0.423). The study contributes an empirically tested DSM construct and offers guidance for Islamic banks in designing Sharia-compliant digital marketing strategies.

Abstract

Islamic economics has expanded institutionally, yet its development is still frequently assessed through formal Sharia compliance, contract design, and market growth, leaving the philosophical relationship between economic motivation and the objectives of Sharia insufficiently integrated. This article aims to formulate a coherent framework linking the moral orientation of Muslim economic agents with maqasid-based legal and institutional objectives. Using a qualitative integrative library review, the study synthesizes recent scholarship on Homo Islamicus, maqasid al-shariah, Islamic moral economy, values-based entrepreneurship, multidimensional welfare, sustainable finance, and Sharia institutional performance. The analysis is organized across ontological, epistemological, and axiological-teleological dimensions. The findings show that economic motivation in Islam is structured by tawhid, amanah, khilafah, justice, and social responsibility; profit remains legitimate but functions as a means rather than an autonomous end. At the level of objectives, falah and maslahah require distributive justice, protection of essential human interests, and socio-ecological responsibility. The study concludes that Sharia economic institutions should be evaluated not only by contractual compliance but also by measurable maqasid-oriented outcomes, thereby repositioning Islamic economics as an ethical and civilizational project.

Abstract

This study was motivated by fluctuations in the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), and Return on Equity (ROE) of Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) during the 2021–2025 period. The study aims to examine the partial and simultaneous effects of CAR, LCR, and BOPO on ROE at BSI. A quantitative associative research design was employed using secondary data from BSI’s quarterly financial reports for 2021–2025, consisting of 20 quarterly observations. Multiple correlation, multiple regression, coefficient of determination, t-test, and F-test were used for data analysis. The results show that CAR has a significant negative effect on ROE, with a regression coefficient of ?0.266 and a significance value of 0.000. LCR has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on ROE, with a regression coefficient of 0.003 and a significance value of 0.532. BOPO has a significant negative effect on ROE, with a regression coefficient of ?0.349 and a significance value of 0.000. Simultaneously, CAR, LCR, and BOPO have a significant effect on ROE, with a multiple correlation coefficient of 0.977, an F-value of 110.922, and an R-squared value of 0.954, indicating that 95.4% of the variation in ROE in the sample is explained by the three independent variables.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation and supervision of zakat distribution for venture capital in the form of productive assets at LAZ Klik Sedekah Recehan Ujung Berung, analyzed from the perspective of Islamic Economic Law and Law Number 23 of 2011 concerning Zakat Management. This study employs a qualitative field research method with an empirical juridical approach. Data were gathered through direct observation, interviews with amils and mustahiks, and documentation studies. The results indicate that the implementation of productive asset distribution is well-structured, starting from initial assessment through neighborhood heads (RT), identification of mustahik needs, to asset procurement using the Hibah Muqayyadah (conditional grant) contract, which aligns with the tamlik principle and Article 27 of Law Number 23 of 2011. However, the supervision aspect relies solely on online follow-ups via WhatsApp, posing a risk of deficit control and asymmetric information. Therefore, this study recommends a blended monitoring model by integrating physical spot checks and optimizing the role of local RT to ensure the sustainability of productive assets according to Maqashid Shariah.

Abstract

The sandwich generation phenomenon is currently becoming increasingly prevalent, where individuals must bear the financial burden of their families while simultaneously meeting their own needs, often leading to prolonged financial stress. This study aims to identify the factors of financial stress experienced by the sandwich generation and analyze them using the maqashid sharia approach. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenological study approach. Data collection techniques in this study were conducted through field interviews as the primary data source, supported by secondary data from related literature. The research sample consisted of 9 Gen Z informants who are classified as sandwich generation and 1 expert on maqashid sharia. The determination of informants was carried out using a purposive sampling method, with a total sample of 9 main informants according to the research criteria. The results show that the financial stress  of the informants is influenced by the increase in living costs that is not commensurate with the salary and the size of family responsibilities, social pressures due to the demands of the role as a family supporter and environmental expectations, the burden of debt that the informants have, and the conditions of work in the Gig economy sector with unstable income, thus increasing the perceived financial stress . However, some informants are able to save, indicating fairly good financial literacy. In addition, the application of the maqashid sharia principle regarding the maintenance of assets (hifdz al-mal) must be able to prioritize in managing expenses, arranging primary (daruriyyat), secondary (hajiyyat), and tertiary needs (tahsiniyyat), as well as family deliberations regarding financial responsibilities, so that the welfare of individuals and families is maintained.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the philosophical foundations of marketing ethics in the Islamic economic system through an analysis of the latest literature. This qualitative study employs a literature review method, drawing on relevant books, academic journals, and Islamic legal documents. The results of the study indicate that Islamic marketing ethics are rooted in the principles of justice, honesty, transparency, the prohibition of fraud (gharar), and social responsibility. Philosophically, these principles refer to the maqashid al-sharia—the primary objectives of Islamic law to promote public welfare and prevent harm in economic activities. The analysis also found that the values of Sharia marketing ethics are not only normative but also practical in building consumer trust and strengthening business competitiveness. This study recommends strengthening the understanding and implementation of Sharia marketing ethics in modern business practices as a contribution to sustainable and equitable economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Over Confidence (OC) and Loss Aversion (LA) on the Investment Decision (ID) of Generation Z Fintech users in Garut Regency in 2026. The study employed a quantitative method with descriptive and associative (causal) approaches. The population comprised all Generation Z individuals (born 1997–2012) domiciled in Garut Regency who actively invest through Fintech platforms, whose exact number is unknown. A sample of 336 respondents was selected using a purposive sampling technique. Primary data were collected through an online questionnaire measured on a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and multiple linear regression analysis with IBM SPSS. The results show that Over Confidence has a positive and significant effect on Investment Decision (t = 3.930; Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), and Loss Aversion also has a positive and significant effect on Investment Decision (t = 3.033; Sig. 0.003 < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affect Investment Decision (F = 12.989; Sig. 0.000 < 0.05) with an R Square of 0.072 (7.2%). These findings indicate that psychological biases need to be considered by Fintech platform developers in designing investment education to encourage more rational decision-making among Generation Z investors.
