Abstract

Pluralism is one study that is often of concern to various intellectual circles; Both Muslim scholars and orientalism. The various views that are "proclaimed" have different thinking foundations and are inseparable from the scientific capacity possessed. Studies of religious pluralism are based on several approaches such as philosophical, social and theological approaches as a basis for thinking so that it penetrates all aspects of today's society. The Quran as a reference that has a comprehensive nature is able to penetrate all lines of people's lives related to dogma and teachings contained therein. Almost all of its verses relate to standard rules both personal and group. The verses contained in it even more talk about social life that requires everyone to respect and respect each other between religious or interfaith people. Plurality is plurality based on virtue (uniqueness) and distinctiveness. Plurality cannot be included in a unity that has no parts that do not create its own "virtues", "uniqueness", and "distinctiveness". Without unity that covers all aspects, it is inconceivable that plurality, uniqueness, distinctiveness or plurality. For the sake of creating a plurality, all lines of society must dismiss double standards in the order of life which will later become a bridge so that it is in accordance with the ideology of all peace-loving religions.

Abstract

Tradition in the frame of customs is one of the most important elements in a particular society—which in fact is a variance between one community group and another. Almost all islands of the archipelago have different cultural traditions, such as the traditional mawlid in the islands of West Nusa Tenggara, especially northern Lombok or better known as North Lombok. In the implementation of the traditional mawlid tradition in North Lombok Regency, the Bayan Village section is carried out by opening: collecting crops such as rice / grain, fruits and so on. Then in the evening it continued with a reassurance event opened by the women who became the opening. The tradition of traditional mawlid as a cultural property of the community (local wisdom) is a combination of local wisdom with Islamic teachings framed in a religious ritual as a form of worship and praise to the One God. Cultural clashes that occur seem to shift traditions that have been passed down for generations are tightly attached to the bayan community because of the shift in values that occur so that the stigma of the community in preserving it (read: traditional mawlid celebration) is challenged in today's millennial era. This Mawlid celebration can be said to be a reflection of religious psychology that supports cultural preservation born from community civilization, and still exists in the midst of the onslaught of modern society or in other words millennial society.

Abstract

The study of science plays a very significant role in the Islamic thought scene. Many schools of each school have different characteristics in explaining a concept; The Qur'an, for example, is understood differently depending on the school it follows. The Mu'tazilites as one of the schools that had a very wide influence with reason as the initial basis of their thought. Many of the mu'tazilite schools spawned pioneers who brought about a change in the paradigm of thinking, especially related to the concept of the new Qur'an. Al-makmum in this case very strongly states that the Qur'an is something created and is new. In 212 AH, Al-Makmun stated explicitly that the Qur'an is a creature, in addition to his saying that Ali ibn Abi Talib was superior to Abu Bakr and Umar ibn Khattab. Almost these highly controversial remarks caused great disaster among the Muslims. As it turned out, the people were very sensitive to the issues they considered an important part of the religion. Almost all scholars in the time of Al-Makmun were tested on the creation of the Qur'an. Scholars who agree with the teachings of the creation of the Qur'an will be free from the torment of Al- Makmun. On the contrary, scholars who dispute and disagree with the doctrine receive undeserved treatment for scholars. For example, Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal was one of the victims of the inquisition (mihnah) who had felt the narrowness of the prison and the weight of the handcuff chains he once inhabited and bound him. Months in prison, yet all the suffering could not change Al-Ma'mun's understanding of the status of the Qur'an. Until his death, Imam Ahmad continued to say that the Qur'an was kalamullah.

Abstract

The current of modernism that was carried by Europe with its characteristic ―rationalistic-empirical‖ exerted a very striking influence in the midst of Islamic society. The spread of modernism became more prominent when this concept of thought found its place among Islamic thinkers—as if it were a new school in the dynamics of Islamic thought. One concrete form of the impact of this current of modernist thought in Islam is the birth of one of the reformist-modernist schools; requires every Islamic society to study, understand, reconstruct and create a new format that is able to answer every problem of the Ummah from every line of life. The moderism of Islamic thought underwent significant changes and gained a new world when Islamic thinkers used this model of thought in fulfilling religious guidance to the need for religion in solving various problems that began to surface, necessitating a new formula to fix the socio-politics of the Islamic community which in fact was becoming obsolete and outdated, as proclaimed by Jamaludin al-Afghani. The implication of al-Afghani's modernism is that of the Pan-Islamic concept of carrying a centralized form of government led by a caliph, but still incorporating contemporary ideas. Afghani offers a democratic system as the right way out as the ideal form of an Islamic state. More concretely, Afghani even gave consideration to using a republican system of government.
