Abstract

Teacher professional development (PD) plays a crucial role in enhancing teaching quality and student outcomes. This article explores innovative approaches to teacher PD through case studies from international settings. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, this study conducts a thorough examination of existing literature and library research to identify various innovative strategies employed in teacher PD across different countries. The findings reveal five key innovative approaches: (1) Collaborative Learning Communities, where teachers engage in collaborative and reflective practices to share knowledge and experiences; (2) Action Research, enabling teachers to investigate and address issues within their own classrooms through systematic inquiry; (3) Technology Integration, leveraging digital tools and online platforms to deliver personalized and interactive PD experiences; (4) Mentoring and Coaching, providing individualized support and feedback to facilitate professional growth and skill development; and (5) Cross-Cultural Exchanges, fostering global perspectives and cultural awareness through international collaborations and partnerships. These case studies highlight the effectiveness of innovative PD approaches in promoting continuous learning, improving instructional practices, and fostering teacher leadership. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of embracing diverse and adaptable PD strategies to meet the evolving needs of teachers and enhance educational outcomes worldwide.

Abstract

In the realm of elementary education, particularly in the context of Islamic Religious Education (IRE), the integration of interactive learning media has emerged as a promising strategy to enhance student engagement and motivation. This study investigates the impact of utilizing interactive learning media on student learning motivation in IRE at the elementary level. Employing a qualitative approach, this research conducts an extensive literature review and library research to explore existing studies, theories, and models related to interactive learning media and student motivation. The findings reveal that the integration of interactive learning media in IRE instruction positively influences student learning motivation. Interactive media, such as educational games, multimedia presentations, and virtual simulations, offer dynamic and engaging learning experiences, stimulating students' interest and intrinsic motivation. Furthermore, interactive learning environments provide opportunities for active participation, collaboration, and personalized learning, catering to diverse learning styles and preferences among elementary students. The utilization of interactive media fosters a sense of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, which are key components of self-determination theory and motivational frameworks. This heightened motivation leads to increased attentiveness, enthusiasm, and persistence in learning IRE topics. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of integrating interactive learning media into IRE pedagogy to cultivate a supportive and motivating learning environment for elementary students. This research contributes to the existing literature by highlighting the significant role of interactive media in promoting student motivation and engagement in religious education contexts.

Abstract

The National Examination (UN) is a crucial assessment tool in many educational systems worldwide, determining students' academic achievements and educational progress. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing students' success rates in the National Examination. Utilizing a qualitative approach and conducting a comprehensive review of existing literature through library research, this study investigates various factors that impact students' performance in the National Examination. The analysis includes factors such as socio-economic background, access to educational resources, teaching quality, study habits, and psychological factors like motivation and self-efficacy. The findings reveal that socio- economic status significantly influences students' preparation and performance in the National Examination. Moreover, access to educational resources and quality teaching positively correlate with students' success rates. Additionally, students' study habits, including time management, self-discipline, and effective learning strategies, play a vital role in determining their performance in the examination. Furthermore, psychological factors such as motivation, self-confidence, and perceived academic competence contribute significantly to students' success in the National Examination. By understanding these factors, educators and policymakers can develop targeted interventions and strategies to improve students' preparation and performance in the National Examination, thereby enhancing overall educational outcomes and promoting equity in education.

Abstract

The implementation of project-based learning (PBL) approach has gained attention as an effective method to enhance critical thinking skills among elementary school students. This paper explores the effectiveness of implementing the PBL approach in improving critical thinking skills among elementary school students through a qualitative analysis based on literature review and library research. The study investigates various aspects of PBL implementation, including its principles, strategies, and outcomes related to critical thinking development. Findings suggest that PBL provides students with opportunities to engage in authentic, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote higher-order thinking skills such as analysis, evaluation, and synthesis. Moreover, the collaborative nature of PBL fosters communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities among students. By immersing students in real-world projects, PBL encourages active participation, creativity, and innovation, leading to a deeper understanding of concepts and issues. Additionally, the integration of technology and multimedia resources enhances the PBL experience, offering students diverse learning opportunities and increasing their motivation and engagement. The findings underscore the importance of well- designed PBL activities and supportive learning environments in maximizing the development of critical thinking skills. Overall, this research contributes to the existing literature by providing insights into the effectiveness of PBL in promoting critical thinking skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

Background: This research is conducted to increase the husband's involvement in their active role as a companion from pregnancy until childbirth so that the psychology of the mother during the process becomes good and goes well. This research aims to understand the husband's role in their accessibility, engagement, responsibility, and couple relationship in line with their role as individual, family, community, society, and policy. Method: This research was qualitative study through in-depth interviews with five informant couples as primary sources and four supportive informants such as midwives or health workers in the area of Puskesmas (Primary Health Center) Bumiayu and Kaliwadas. They were interviewed separately in different places and times. Results: The husband's role during the process of childbirth covers their accessibility, which is his direct presence to accompany his wife, their engagement as physical and emotional involvement during the process, their responsibility towards his wife's needs, and couple relationship as his care and concern of his wife. Some factors that affect the role of the husband such as individual, family support (parents), community or closer environmental support such as workplaces that may grant permission or leave from work during the process; social support from midwife which involved of giving information, instruction, to them and her husband; and policy as stated in Regulation of the Minister of Health no. 97, 2014 article 12 verse 4(f) dan article 14, about husband policy (SIAGA) 1999-2000 and KIA book. Conclusion: The primary role of the husband during pregnancy and childbirth are accessibility and engagement. Some factors that affect their role are individual motivation, community or support of her closest environment, and society or the role of health workers in supporting a husband's responsibility. The Standard Operating Procedures about the role of the husband as a companion of his wife during pregnancy and childbirth period are not formulated yet.

Abstract

This article delves into the multifaceted role of Islamic broadcasting within contemporary communication frameworks, adopting a sociocultural perspective. Through qualitative analysis, literature review, and library research, it investigates how Islamic broadcasting platforms navigate the complexities of modern communication landscapes while upholding Islamic principles and values. By exploring various case studies and scholarly works, this research sheds light on the cultural, social, and religious implications of Islamic broadcasting initiatives. It examines how these platforms serve as channels for religious discourse, community engagement, and cultural preservation, contributing to broader discussions on media representation, religious identity, and social cohesion. Additionally, the study examines the challenges and opportunities faced by Islamic broadcasters in reaching diverse audiences and adapting to technological advancements. By critically analyzing the sociocultural dynamics surrounding Islamic broadcasting, this research offers valuable insights into its significance in shaping contemporary communication paradigms and fostering intercultural dialogue.

Abstract

Multicultural literacy is becoming increasingly important in today's globalized world, particularly in diverse societies like Indonesia. This paper explores strategies for developing multicultural literacy in the basic education curriculum of Indonesia. Employing qualitative methods, this study conducts a comprehensive literature review and library research to examine existing frameworks, policies, and practices related to multicultural education in Indonesia's basic education system. The research identifies key challenges and gaps in the current curriculum and proposes strategies to enhance multicultural literacy among students. The study underscores the significance of incorporating diverse cultural perspectives, histories, and values into the curriculum to foster empathy, respect, and understanding among students from different ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds. Furthermore, the paper highlights the need for teacher training programs to equip educators with the necessary knowledge, skills, and pedagogical approaches to effectively implement multicultural education in the classroom. The findings suggest the importance of integrating multicultural literacy across various subjects and learning activities to promote inclusive learning environments and prepare students for active citizenship in a multicultural society. The proposed strategies aim to address the complexities of cultural diversity and promote social cohesion and harmony in Indonesian schools. Overall, this research contributes to the ongoing discourse on multicultural education and offers practical insights for policymakers, educators, and curriculum developers in Indonesia and other diverse societies.

Abstract

Islamic religious education (IRE) holds significant importance in the curriculum of pesantren-based schools, reflecting the integration of religious teachings with academic subjects. This study explores the challenges and opportunities in implementing the IRE curriculum within the context of pesantren- based educational institutions. Employing qualitative methods, including literature review and library research, this paper examines the multifaceted aspects shaping the implementation of the IRE curriculum. The analysis reveals various challenges encountered, such as curriculum alignment with national educational standards, teacher qualification and training, pedagogical approaches, and resource limitations. Additionally, the study uncovers opportunities present in the integration of technology, community engagement, and partnerships with governmental and non- governmental organizations to enhance the effectiveness of IRE curriculum delivery. By addressing these challenges and leveraging available opportunities, pesantren- based schools can better navigate the complexities of implementing the IRE curriculum and foster holistic Islamic education for students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the leadership applied by the principal to improve the performance of Tut Wuri Handayani Kindergarten teachers to work more effectively and efficiently. The method used in the research is a descriptive approach with qualitative analysis, namely by using data collection techniques in the field through the process of interviews, observation and documentation. The results showed enhance teacher performance, the principal leads the team in finishing assignments and work within the allotted time. The orientations peer interactions and task orientation show how teacher performance has improved at Tut Wuri Handayani Kindergarten. The principal effectively carries out the laws aimed at enhancing teacher performance, carries out programs that develop teaching ability by encouraging teachers to pursue further education, and recognizes and rewards the hard work and dedication of their teachers.

Abstract

This research aims to increase students' interest in science subjects regarding Energy and its use in utilizing natural resources, describing the use of concrete props in the science learning process to increase activeness and creativity in learningencourage students to think critically in Energy material and its use in utilizing natural resources and their solutions. From the results of this research, it is hoped that it can provide benefits in improving student learning outcomes optimally, increasing students' interest and motivation in quality science lessons which are considered difficult, increasing understanding of concepts, because students learn directly about themincreasing teacher creativity in carrying out the learning process, helping teachers develop their teaching abilities professionally, growing and increasing self-confidence, advancing school institutions as seen from increasing teacher professionalism in the learning processimproving and enhancing the learning process and outcomes of transfer students, creating a conducive school education situation. In the process of learning science for class IV on the subject of economic activities in Indonesia, the results of observations from colleagues, suggestions from supervisors, the author needs to carry out improvements to the learning of Natural Sciences (Science) subjects on the subject of energy sources and their use in the classroom IV (four). There were 20 students (71.43%) out of 28 students who had not met the KKM/score less than 75.in implementing learning improvements in Natural Sciences (Science) subjects starting from cycle I, it has shown an increase in students'mastery of the material with 15 students achieving completeness out of 28 students with an average score of 72.86.
