Abstract

Humans are unique creatures, they were created in the image and likeness of God. Humans are also highly noble creatures because humans have the dignity of reason, conscience and the nobility of freedom to preserve God's other creations. Humans are creatures that exist because they have consciousness, through this consciousness humans establish relationships with God, nature and fellow humans. Human life always exists with others because through others each individual can know who he really is. In this togetherness, humans maintain what is considered good in the collective life of society, which is called tradition. In the context of the archipelago, the Dawan people in Timor, East Nusa Tenggara know an oral tradition, namely the Takanab for picking up new priests. Takanab for picking up a new priest is a traditional speech spoken by traditional elders or mavefa (speakers) when picking up a new preist. The fundamental question of this cultural study is why humans should be respected? This research uses qualitative research methods to collect and analyze data. Based on data obtained through literature review and interviews, there are new findings regarding the Takanab tradition of picking up new priest. In the Takanab tradition, it is not only an expression of gratitude to the ancestors and God, but also human dignity is highly upheld. Human dignity in the Takanab tradition of picking up new priests is one of the new variants that needs to be developed and must be supported by government institutions and religious institutions (Catholics) so that there is harmonious inculturation in living together.

Abstract

The patience of the faith of the righteous in the face of suffering. The prototype of the patience of the righteous that we want to address is Job. The suffering that Job experienced is a picture of the suffering of a good and righteous man who fears evil. Job feared evil so much that he lived a life of obedience to God, but interestingly he still fell into a tremendous suffering. Job lost all his wealth, family and illnesses but he remained patient and always relied on God. In the face of various trials, Job accepted them willingly and did not make him angry and far from God. Job's patience in various trials is worthy to be emulated by humans in this era. Job's sufferings were sufferings where God wanted to test Job's faith and patience. Just as God tries the faith and patience of the righteous, God will return and restore Job's suffering by bestowing abundant blessings again.

Abstract

Before proceeding to marriage, there are stages that can be taken before the marriage contract is carried out, one of which is the sermon (engagement), which is to prepare for the future marriage process, which is not legal according to Islamic law, but aims to find out the personalities of both parties. This article aims to explain how the bride and groom interact after performing the sermon and the role of parents in it in Islamic family law. The interaction between the bride and groom which gives rise to various interactions that require regulation is called an-nizham alijtima'i. This system essentially regulates interactions between two opposite sexes (men and women) and regulates various interactions that arise from these interactions. The data collected comes from articles, journals, books and working papers. The results of the research are that the engagement period is not the same as the period after marriage. In principle, during the engagement period, there are no legal consequences like husband and wife. During this engagement period, it is only for ta'aruf (introduction) between the two parties and preparations before the wedding, that is why in social relations you must prioritize Islamic ethics, therefore the prospective bride and groom are still the responsibility of their respective parents. each in terms of the relationship between the two.
