Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has transformed how micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) engage with customers and maintain competitiveness in increasingly dynamic markets. Despite this trend, many MSMEs in Indonesia continue to face challenges in adopting effective digital marketing strategies that enhance visibility and customer interaction. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Google My Business (GMB) as a digital marketing tool for improving visibility and customer engagement in the catering MSME Dapur Bu Dedek, located in Deli Serdang Regency, Indonesia. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research utilized secondary data derived from six months of GMB performance reports to analyze patterns of customer engagement and platform-driven interactions. The findings reveal that GMB significantly contributes to strengthening the enterprise’s digital presence by generating substantial profile views, navigation requests, and direct interactions, with mobile-based access accounting for the majority of engagement. These results suggest that GMB not only facilitates visibility but also fosters meaningful customer connections that are critical for sustaining business growth. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on digital marketing adoption in MSMEs by emphasizing the strategic role of GMB in shaping consumer engagement behaviors. In practical terms, the research provides actionable insights for MSME owners and policymakers on optimizing digital platforms to enhance competitiveness and resilience in the digital economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Baitulmaal Muamalat "Sahabat MSME Indonesia" empowerment program on the performance of MSMEs, with intrinsic motivation as a mediating variable. This study used 80 respondents using a quantitative approach and the SmartPLS Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) statistical method. The results showed that training significantly influenced intrinsic motivation and MSME performance. Mentoring significantly influenced MSME performance, not significantly influenced MSME performance mediated by intrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation significantly influenced MSME performance. Based on the respondents' education level, nearly 65% of respondents had a high school or university degree. Therefore, comprehensive training was sufficient for respondents to understand the material presented. Meanwhile, pre-arranged mentoring seemed more focused on meeting schedules, with solutions offered that weren’t necessarily relevant to MSMEs' problems. Mentoring didn’t significantly influence intrinsic motivation because the material presented didn’t directly impact the intrinsic motivation of entrepreneurs but required more time than the mentoring schedule. The limitations of this study are quantitative methods and the use of a single institution. A combined quantitative and qualitative research model could be used to further enhance the relevance of the results. Further research is needed to test the generalizability of the results and establish causal relationships more comprehensively.

Abstract

Sustainability issues and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance are increasingly becoming strategic priorities for global companies, yet a significant gap remains between formal Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) policies and their implementation at the employee level. Data shows that most companies are not yet ready for ESG assessments, while only a small percentage of employees believe their organizations are making sufficient contributions to climate issues. This study aims to explore the role of transformational leadership in bridging this gap to strengthen the impact of Green HRM on ESG performance. Using a narrative review approach, relevant literature from Scopus and Web of Science was critically analyzed. The study revealed that transformational leadership, through inspiration, intellectual stimulation, and individual attention, can encourage employee green behavior, reduce resistance, and foster a sustainability-oriented culture. Thus, transformational leadership plays an essential linking mechanism in ensuring the effectiveness of Green HRM policies in improving ESG performance.

Abstract

This study examines the importance of digital marketing strategies for MSMEs in Jambi City in facing the challenges of the Society 5.0 era through a literature review approach with a focus on market expansion, promotion cost efficiency, and increased profitability. With a significant MSME population in Jambi City as part of more than 99% of the total national business units, digital transformation has become a strategic imperative for MSMEs to increase competitiveness and achieve sustainable growth. The analysis shows that the adoption of digital marketing has a positive correlation with the performance of MSMEs, where behavioral control factors and subjective norms have a significant effect on the intention of using digital platforms. The structured digital transformation program in Jambi City showed high effectiveness with 80% of participants successfully registering for independent NIB, 88% routinely recording digital finances, and 75% actively creating promotional content. The use of social media and digital platforms allows MSMEs to reach a wider market by reducing promotional costs by up to 70% compared to conventional methods, while increasing profit potential through the expansion of consumer segmentation. However, limited capital, human resources, and technological infrastructure are still major obstacles. A sustainable innovation strategy that integrates local wisdom with digital technology has been proven to increase the competitive advantage of MSMEs and provide a significant return on investment. Recommendations include the development of holistic capacity building, access to technology financing, and the creation of a supportive digital ecosystem for the transformation of MSMEs towards Society 5.0 that prioritizes sustainable profitability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sustainability opportunities of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) operating in Bali using the Altman Z-Score bankruptcy prediction model. The research focuses on four strategic SOEs: PT PLN (Persero) Bali Distribution Main Unit, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Ngurah Rai Airport, PT Pelindo (Persero) Benoa Branch, and Perum Bulog Divre Bali. These four SOEs were selected because of their vital roles in providing energy, air transportation, logistics, and food as the main pillars of Bali's economy, which is highly dependent on the tourism sector. The data used are secondary data in the form of financial reports for the 2019 - 2023 period, as well as macroeconomic data from BPS, Bank Indonesia, and the Bali Tourism Office. The analysis is conducted in two stages: (1) calculating the probability of bankruptcy using the Altman Z-Score, and (2) testing the influence of external factors (inflation, exchange rates, interest rates, tourism) and internal factors (liquidity, leverage, profitability) on the probability of bankruptcy using panel regression, as well as the role of corporate governance as a moderating variable. The results show that PLN Bali and Bulog Bali are in the safe zone, while Angkasa Pura I and Pelindo Benoa briefly entered the distress zone in 2020 due to a drastic decline in tourist visits, but began to recover in 2023. External factors include inflation, which has a significant negative effect, and tourism, which has a significant positive effect on the probability of bankruptcy, while exchange rates and interest rates are insignificant. Internal factors include only liquidity. Corporate governance has been shown to strengthen the influence of both external and internal factors in reducing the risk of bankruptcy. Overall, this study confirms that state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Bali have a strong opportunity for sustainability if they can maintain liquidity, anticipate tourism fluctuations, and strengthen corporate governance. With adaptive strategies and government policy support, Bali's SOEs can transform into a resilient and sustainable driving force for the regional economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of psychological biases such as investor overconfidence, herding behavior, and loss aversion on stock returns and trading volume on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The research background stems from a critique of classical financial theory, particularly the Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH), which assumes investors are always rational. In reality, empirical phenomena in the Indonesian capital market demonstrate irrational behavior that is difficult to explain with classical theory. The research method employed a quantitative approach with secondary data from 60 financial and consumer sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2020–2023 period. The independent variables tested included overconfidence, herding behavior, and loss aversion, while the dependent variables were stock returns and trading volume. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression after classical assumption testing to ensure model validity. The results showed that overconfidence had a significant positive effect on trading volume, herding behavior had a significant positive effect on stock returns, and loss aversion had a significant negative effect on stock returns. These findings confirmed all three research hypotheses and bolstered the behavioral finance literature, which suggests that investors are not always rational. The implications of this research are important for investors, issuers, and regulators. Investors need to increase their awareness of psychological biases to make more rational transactions. Issuers must understand that stock prices are influenced not only by fundamentals but also by market sentiment. Regulators need to strengthen financial literacy based on behavioral finance and increase oversight of herding behavior in the digital era.

Abstract

Current developments in digital technology and culture have influenced the financial behavior of Gen Z, who tend to be consumptive and oriented towards short-term gratification. In this context, frugal living has emerged as a new paradigm that continues to emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and self-control in financial management. This concept is not merely about saving, but also encompasses the ability to assess utility, delay gratification, and prioritize long-term needs over immediate desires. This study aims to examine frugal living as a strategy for early financial management for Gen Z, using the perspective of the Theory of Planned Behavior and behavioral economics. The method used is a descriptive literature review with empirical analysis of various international journals related to financial behavior, financial literacy, and frugal consumption behavior. The results of the study indicate that frugal behavior is positively correlated with financial literacy, impulse control, and individual well-being.

Abstract

The digitalization of financial services has driven the increased use of non-cash payment systems at various financial institutions, including PT. Pegadaian. However, customer compliance in repaying loans remains suboptimal. This study aims to analyze the effect of non-cash payment systems on customer compliance in repaying loans at PT. Pegadaian, Boswesen Branch. Using a quantitative approach with simple linear regression analysis, this study processed data collected through a structured questionnaire from gold pawn customers. The results showed that the use of non-cash payment systems did not significantly impact customer compliance. This finding indicates that compliance is more determined by factors other than the use of payment technology, such as financial awareness, understanding of payment obligations, and level of trust in the institution. This study recommends that further studies consider psychological, behavioral, and financial literacy variables to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the determinants of customer compliance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Circular Economy (CE) principles within the Sustainable Supply Chain (SSC) framework through a cross-sectional approach.narrative integrative reviewThe study results show that theoretical models in the CE–SSC literature are still fragmented, with the dominance of NRBV, Industrial Ecology, and institutional theory approaches that have not been able to comprehensively integrate all circular loops. In addition, digital enablers such as IoT, AI, and blockchain have not been systematically integrated in existing models, creating important conceptual gaps in supporting traceability, coordination, and performance measurement of circular supply chains. This study offers an integrative framework that unites circular design, digital technology, supply chain coordination, reverse flow mechanisms, and sustainability outcomes. These findings provide academic contributions through comprehensive theoretical mapping and practical contributions in the form of guidance for organizations and policymakers in developing more effective, collaborative, and technology-based CE–SSC implementations.
