Radicalism in Indonesia is increasingly showing a very worrying increase, and youth are one of the targets of the entry of this understanding. This is evident that the involvement of youth as perpetrators of radicalism and terrorism continues to show an increasing trend. However, youth, in this case students, with a different perspective, have actually become a strength asset owned by universities to fight the power of spreading these ideas. Therefore, it is necessary to provide assistance to youth so that these assets can be maximally empowered. This assistance is carried out through the Interfaith Youth Gathering program which consists of Youth Development, Youth Gathering, and Youth Media. This program was attended by 15 people consisting of different universities and youth religious organizations. Mastery of digital literacy is one of skills that must be possessed by modern humans in order to compete in the 21st century. However, the use of digital literacy as learning media and information acquisition has not been utilized optimally, included in the three fostered modern Islamic boarding schools (hereinafter pesantren). Therefore, this community service activity has main objective, namely to provide training for ustadz/ustadzah council in designing digital literacy programs that can be integrated in the learning process sustainably. To achieve the objective, this program used Community Based Participatory Research method by involving various parties such as residents of pesantren (kiai, ustadz/ustadzah, librarian and santri), community representatives (literacy activists), and lecturers (universities). Finally, this program has positive implications. This is reflected in: (1) the integration of digital literacy media into the learning process sustainably; (2) the development of a literacy culture; (3) the realization of a literate pesantren environment.

Abstract

World Health Organization estimates that in 2019 the global prevalence of hypertension is 22%. Based on the 2018 Riskesdas report, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia is 34.11% and South Kalimantan ranked first (44.13%). One of the risk factors for hypertension is a sedentary lifestyle. Therefore, it is necessary to empower the community related to lifestyles that affect the occurrence of hypertension. A total of 15 residents of RT.007 RW.005 in Guntung Paikat have participated in exercise to control blood pressure. Seven of them received leaflets to increase knowledge and attitudes related to hypertension. Based on the evaluation results, there was a decrease in the mean systolic (p-value=0.020) and diastolic (p-value=0.011) blood pressure between before and after exercise. The increase in mean knowledge (p-value=0.655) and attitude (p-value=0.436) was not significantly affected by the provision of leaflets.

Abstract

This study investigated the reluctance among pre-service to adopt online learning platforms to teach students with intellectual disability. This study consisted of pre-service teachers. The qualitative phenomenological research method was used to examine pre-service teachers' reluctance to adopt online learning platforms to teach students with intellectual disabilities. In-depth interviews were conducted with pre-service teachers at the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan. Seven respondents selected using a convenient sampling technique participated in the study; respondents were referred to as Participant 1 to Participant 7 for the purpose of anonymity. Collected data were transcribed and analysed using ATLAS.ti version 22, a computer-aided qualitative data analysis software. Based on participants' responses, four major themes were generated on the perception: opportunities to access various learning platforms, no special provision for learners with intellectual disability, the possibility of learning biases, and ineffective learning methods. Based on the evidence presented here, individuals with ID will not be able to access online learning platforms to the same degree as others within society.

Abstract

The Act of Village has given many opportunities for villages in Indonesia to generate innovation in the local contexts. The governance for village development creates a new way to develop the rural area through visionary leadership innovation. This study showcases two villages that can encourage modernism in innovative leadership, namely Panggungharjo Village and Sayan Village. These villages have been able to promote local democratization from political clientelism to good governance. This study presented social change by the Most Significant Change (MOS) approach that involves two headmen in the site of engagement community. The critical finding of this study is directed into three notions. First, a contestation of village election is free from clientelistic and money politics. Second, the program is oriented toward citizenship. Third, the governing authority in the local village is given by the resources in the form of village funds allocated in a targeted and legal manner to support community empowerment. In this community service, community organizing to realize good governance practices through innovative leadership is a central issue in the sustainable development of the village
