Abstract

Based on data from the World Health Organization, the direct causes of death in other countries are the same, namely bleeding (28%), eclampsia (24%) and postpartum infection (1%). There are infections with a proportion (20-30%) of cases of infection caused by infection of the birth canal or perineal rupture. Cases of laceration or rupture of the perineum in maternity women worldwide occur in 2.7 million people. Based on the results of a survey conducted at one of the Independent Practices of Midwives in Bengkulu City, data on the number of mothers giving birth from January-July 2021 was 58 people and the incidence of perineal injuries with episiotomy was 38 mothers (65%). The average perineal wound healing time is 7-10 days. The design used in this study was a quasi-experimental. The sampling technique in this study was accidental sampling. The total number of samples was 15 respondents in the guava leaf group and 15 respondents in the comparison group. Statistical analysis used is the Mann Whitney test. The results of this study were the average length of perineal wound healing with guava leaves was 5.47 days, while for binahong leaves it was 5.63 days. There is an effect of guava leaves on the duration of perineal wound healing with a p value of 0.003 which means that guava leaves are effective on the duration of perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers. The most dominant influence of other variables on perineal wound healing is nutritional intake.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition in which an abnormal number of red blood cells in the body is indicated by a low level of hemoglobin in the blood. Knowledge is the result of knowing after feeling a certain object. Protein is an important nutrient for the human body because it is a source of energy, material and regulator. Intake of vitamin C is an aid in the production of hemoglobin and the growth of red blood cells. Fe is needed for the manufacture of blood plasma which produces red blood cells. Anemia Free Youth Card is a visual-based media in the form of a rectangle containing pictures, question text which serves to explain the pictures shown. This research is a Quasy Experiment research with a treatment group, through media card games, healthy adolescents free of anemia. A sample of 36 young women was taken by purposive sampling. Knowledge of young women before and after being given education through the games method with a p-value of 0.000, then p-value (<0.05), and intake of young women before and after going through a 24 hour recall with a p-value of 0.000, then p-value (<0.05). This shows that there is an influence of the Anemia-Free Healthy Teenage Card Games as a media for educating young girls about anemia in junior high schools 19 in Bengkulu City and can be used as an alternative learning media for schools to support female students in improving learning outcomes and providing adequate nutrition during growth during adolescence.

Abstract

Families are the smallest group in society that can contribute to preventing COVID-19 transmission in the new normal. Especially the role of parents in providing education in the family, especially for schoolchildren, to prevent the transmission of COVID-19. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of video-based family nursing therapy on family independence in preparing schoolchildren to face the new normal of COVID-19 in Bengkulu City in 2021. The design of this study is quasi-experimental with pre- and post-tests with a control group. The research was conducted in Kuala Lempuing Village, Bengkulu City, in September–December 2021. The total sample size of the study was 30 respondents for the intervention and 30 respondents for the control group. Data processing is carried out using the Paired Sample T Test because the data is normally distributed. The analysis results show a value of p = 0.000. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there are significant differences in family independence in the treatment group after a video-based family nursing intervention. Abstract

The number of maternal deaths in Bengkulu Province for the last three years is still high, and Bengkulu City is one of the second highest contributors to maternal mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the proposed theoretical model is suitable (fit) to explain the determinants of clean and healthy living behavior in mothers in the home setting in Bengkulu City in 2021. Quantitative research method with cross sectional research design. The research population is mothers who have toddlers in Bengkulu City, while the research sample is mothers who have toddlers who were chosen intentionally. The variable being measured is the latent variable, so it uses a structural equation modeling (SEM) application that examines the relationship between the variables as a unit. Clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in mothers in household settings in Bengkulu City is still low on the indicators of consumption of vegetables and fruit (8.7%) and non-smoking behavior (39.7%). The factor that plays the strongest role in shaping clean and healthy living behavior is perception. Clean and healthy living behavior can be improved if they have good knowledge, receive adequate social support, correct perception of clean and healthy living behavior and the availability of adequate sources of information. It is hoped that the Bengkulu City Health Office through the Coordinator of Midwives, Health Promoters and Cadres can encourage clean and healthy living behaviors in mothers by involving village officials or their peers so that together they improve clean and healthy living behaviors.

Abstract

Bengkulu province experiences an annual accumulation of waste amounting to 38,417.16 tons. The issue of garbage is not something to be taken lightly as it concerns the livelihoods of many people. Practically all waste management leads to landfills, imposing a tremendous burden on these waste disposal sites. It requires not only extensive land but also expensive environmental protection facilities. The increasing volume of waste being sent to the landfill is one of the reasons why there hasn't been a concerted effort to reduce the amount of waste at its source. The aim is to understand the factors that influence household waste management behavior. This study employed a community-based approach with a cross-sectional research design conducted in June and July 2023. The study's population consists of households in the city of Bengkulu in the year 2021. A sample of 542 households was chosen using the simple random sampling method. This study has received an ethical clearance certificate from Bengkulu Health Polytechnic with Reference No. KEPK.BKL/416/06/2023 dated June 30, 2023. The data analysis involves univariate and bivariate analysis, including the chi-square test. The majority of households in Bengkulu City are aged between 29 and 58 years old. They are mostly married, have educational levels below high school, are unemployed, possess limited household knowledge, exhibit a less favorable attitude, and most households demonstrate insufficient behavior regarding household waste management. Age, marital status, education, and occupation show no correlation with behavior in household waste management. There is a relationship between knowledge and attitude with behavior in household waste management. Households with limited knowledge are at an 8.4 times higher risk of displaying insufficient behavior in waste management. Additionally, households with inadequate knowledge face a 8.94 times higher risk of demonstrating deficient behavior in waste management. Regular education-based socialization and accompanying support in waste management can serve as an alternative to enhance households' knowledge and attitude towards waste management. Providing facilities and infrastructure support, such as composters or biopores for organic waste management, as well as offering training on the utilization of inorganic waste, can be a solution to transform community behavior regarding waste management. This will ultimately lead to th
