Abstract

This research aims to analyze Kopi Kenangan's marketing communication strategies through YouTube content, as well as to identify obstacles in consistently achieving the Top of Mind position in Indonesia's coffee shop market until 2025, considering fluctuations in its Top Brand Award index. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study on Kopi Kenangan. Data were collected through triangulation: (1) an in-depth content analysis of three "Endgame" podcast series featuring Edward Tirtanata on YouTube (September 2020), (2) in-depth interviews with nine informants (three store managers, three store employees from ARION, MOI, and SPBU outlets, and three customers), and (3) documentation study on Kopi Kenangan's business development. Data analysis was conducted using the frameworks of Marketing Communication Theory and Push-Pull-Pass Marketing Communication Strategy Theory. The research findings identify Kopi Kenangan's marketing communication pattern as an integrated hybrid model. This model effectively combines digital push strategies through application notifications and social media promotions (implicitly including YouTube), with pull strategies focused on brand storytelling, in-store experiential marketing, and product education. Additionally, there is strong personal communication (pass strategy) from store staff, as well as extensive collaboration with delivery platforms to expand reach. Edward Tirtanata's disruptive vision also serves as the foundation for the strategically conveyed brand narrative. Although this pattern is effective in building awareness and driving purchases, consistent Top of Mind status is still hindered by internal inconsistencies in message delivery by employees, challenges in micro-level communication adaptation based on location, and the need to strengthen a unique and consistent brand narrative through storytelling content on YouTube to create cognitive dominance in consumers' minds.

Abstract

Moisture content is a critical factor that determines the quality of tobacco. Inappropriate moisture levels, whether too high or too low, can degrade quality and trigger damage during storage. Previous studies have mostly focused on soil moisture monitoring or other agricultural products, while research on integrated monitoring and automatic control systems for tobacco moisture content in small-scale storage is still limited. This study aims to design an Internet of Things (IoT)-based system for monitoring and controlling tobacco moisture content using a Wemos D1 microcontroller, soil moisture sensor, Firebase, and an Android application developed with MIT App Inventor. The system monitors moisture levels in real time, sends automatic notifications to a smartphone, and controls a storage roof mechanism that opens when the moisture exceeds 14% and closes when it falls below 10%, in accordance with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI). The system was tested on a small scale under several scenarios, including measurements of dry and wet tobacco, notification delay testing, and internet connection range testing. Experimental results show that the system can detect tobacco moisture content with satisfactory accuracy, with an average notification delay of about 2.8–3 seconds. The roof control mechanism driven by a servo motor successfully operated in 100% of trials. The system also worked effectively within a Wi-Fi connection range of up to 20 meters without obstacles and 15 meters with obstacles. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that an IoT-based solution using Wemos D1 provides a practical approach to maintaining tobacco moisture content within the required quality standards for small-scale storage. Future work may include employing more precise capacitive sensors, integrating historical data storage, and applying predictive models to enhance the reliability of automated tobacco storage systems.

Abstract

Choosing the right hijab color that matches a person's skin tone is essential for many Muslim women to achieve a harmonious and attractive appearance. However, selecting a suitable color is often subjective and requires specific knowledge of color compatibility. This study aims to develop an automated prediction system that recommends hijab colors based on the user’s skin tone using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm. KNN was chosen for its simplicity and effectiveness in classifying data based on proximity. The dataset used includes skin tone and corresponding hijab color data, collected through both primary and secondary sources. The classification process involves extracting color features from images and calculating Euclidean distances to determine the best hijab color prediction. The experimental results show that the KNN model provides fairly accurate predictions in recommending hijab colors based on skin tone. This system is expected to assist users in selecting appropriate hijab colors in a more objective and efficient manner.
