Abstract

The purposes of this research were 1) assessing the income structure of pineapple farmer household in Kualu Nenas, Tambang, Kampar, analyzing the consumption expenditure of pineapple farmer household in Kualu Nenas Village Tambang Kampar, 3) analyzing the dominant factors that influence food consumption expenditure of pineapple farmer household conducted in the Kualu Nenas Village Tambang District Kampar Regency by using survey method. The respondents were chosen by using simple random sampling technique. The population of this research were pineapple farmers with the total number was 67 farmers which was selected randomly of 30 farmers. The data was analyzed by using income analysis, income structure analysis and binary logistics analysis. Based on the result of the income structure analysis, the biggest household income is from the pineapple farm. The consumption system of pineapple farmer household shows that the expenditure of food comsumption is more than non food comsumption. The dominant factor that influences the system of the pineapple farmer household food comsumption is job status. The correlation between job status and opportunities expenditure allocation is inversed. It means that the use of more laborer from outside of the family causing the farmers' opportunity in allocating the consumption expenditure became smaller.

Abstract

Kualu Nenas Village is a pineapple agroindustrial center in the Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang District of Kampar Regency. The development of the pineapple agroindustry in Kualu Nenas Village did not escape the dissemination of information regarding the pineapple chips agroindustry. This information is shared and exchanged by each actor in the network. This study had aimed: (1) analyze the personal and external characteristics of the craftsmen of the pineapple chips agroindustry; (2) analyze communication networks regarding production and marketing in the pineapple chips agroindustry; and (3) analyze the communication network at the actor level in the pineapple chips agroindustry. This research was conducted in Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang District, Kampar Regency. The research was conducted using survey methods and using descriptive analysis and sociometric analysis assisted by the UCINET program. The results showed that the communication network regarding the production and marketing of pineapple chips agroindustry formed an interlocking personal network model. The Restu actor became a star and dominated the centrality in the communication network regarding the production and marketing of the pineapple chips agro-industry in Kualu Nenas Village.

Abstract

North Sumatra Province is one of the largest coffee production Province in Indonesia. The type coffee produced in North Sumatra province are coffee arabica and robusta. North Sumatera Province had no doubt in exporting palm oil commodity, and rubber to many countries. North Sumatra Province can not just rely on both of that commodities and therefore it is necessary to other alternatives such as coffee. Volume and value of coffee exports fluctuated reflecting the competitiveness of North Sumatra Province coffee needs to be improved. The aim of this research to analyze the comparative advantage, a tendency to be exporter or importer of coffee and coffee export projection of North Sumatra Province. The method used is the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Trade Specialization Index (TSI) and Trend. The result showed that North Sumatera Province coffee has a competitiveness and as coffee exporter and the projection of coffee export was positive for the next 5 years.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine consumer perceptions of the marketing mix in the business of O'Chicken. Survey method used in this research and purposive sampling was used to get 50 business customers of O'Chicken as sample. This research took place at the O'Chicken business. Qualitative analysis was quantitatively used in this study. The results showed that consumer perceptions of the marketing mix of product variables, price, place, promotion and service got an average score of 4.25, categorized as very well. Indicators in the product variables are trademark, product packaging, product quality and service score average 4.27, categorized as very well. Indicators on price variables were affordability, price appropriateness with product quality, price competitiveness, price appropriateness with production and price benefits affect consumer purchasing power gets an average score of 4.42, categorized as very well. Indicators in place variables were access, visibility, spacious and safe parking lots and the environment gets an average score of 4.42, categorized very well. Indicators on promotional variables were sales promotion, public relations and mouth-to-mouth information scored an average of 3.77, good categorized. Indicators in service variables were services when product offerings, services in the sale of products and services when delivery of products sold with an average score of 4.35, categorized as very well.

Abstract

Determining key sector is important because can be pass economic development of Riau. This research use linkage analysis by utilizing the indices forward linkage and backward linkage obtained from the multiplier matrices of Input-Output Table.The results of the analysis find eight sectors as the key sectors. This is indicated by their value ofbackward linkage and forward linkage which are higher than the average linkage of the whole economic sectors. Those eight sectors are rice, soy bean, another beans, other plantation crops, palm oil and animal oil, pulp, crumb rubber and smoke rubber, transportation and communication. These commodities should be developed so that can be increase economic of Riau, but does not rule out the possibility of the another sectors to be developed. Research in inter-sectoral linkage may obtain the strength of one particular sectorin influencing other sectors for actively contributing to the Riau economy. However, I-O analysis possessed limitation that prevents the key sectors to be used for long-term policy consideration. Consequently, agriculture development should not continuously depend on the key sectors. More over, it should also develop the potency of other sectors so that agriculture sector would become the key sector of the Riau development as a whole, not partially.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how the economic productivity of labor andtechnical productivity of oil palm harvester at PT Cerenti Subur and to determine how muchinfluence social and economic factors of age, number of dependents, work experience,ethnicity, education level, and incentive / premium on labor productivity of oil palmharvester at PT. Cerenti Subur at Kuantan Singingi District. The analytical method used isthe method of Mathematical and multiple linear regression analysis. Results obtained showedthat the economic productivity of labor in the oil palm harvest of PT. Cerenti has an averageof IDR 146 133 per day and average technical productivity is of 2,474 Kg per day. Therelationship between labor productivity of harvester in PT. Cerenti has a significant effect onlabor productivity with a significant F test of 0.000 and has R square value of 0.919 whichmeans that relationship between productivity factor of age, number of dependents, workexperience, ethnicity, level of education and incentives is 91.9% while the rest 8.1% of laborproductivity of oil palm harvester at PT Cerenti were influenced by other factors which werenot included in the models studied.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Arengka Market and Giant Hypermart Pekanbaru. Theobjective of this research is to analyze the influence of cultural, personal, social andpsychological factors on consumer decision in purchasing fruits and to identify thedominant factors in influencing consumer to buy fruits in the markets. Research wascarried out for 6 months, from August until December 2010. Cultural factors weremeasured from buying habits, social factors were measured from the number of familymember and frequency of purchasing fruit in the markets. Personal factors weremeasured from the selection of the shops place and location, income and expenditure onfruits. The research results show that cultural factors do not influence the consumerpurchasing decision, while social, personal, and psychological factors affect consumerdecision in purchasing fruits. Among these factors, personal and psychological factorsare dominant factors influencing the consumer purchasing decision.Key words: fruit, traditional market, modern market

Abstract

Indonesia has a wealth of unique tropical biological resources, an abundance of sunlight, water and soil, as well as a community culture that respects nature, the potential of agriculture sourced from local abundance is enormous. The local cow maintenance system in Kuantan Singingi Regency is still a semi-intensive system. This business is a hereditary business and is a people's farm that generally farmers provide feed in the form of forage in the form of field grass and let the cows graze foraging in grazing areas in the form of plantation land both oil palm and rubber plantations and shrubs that are not cultivated. local cattle farms or kuantan cows are still dominated by small-scale folk farms. In addition, the scale of management is also still a side business that is not balanced with adequate capital and management and working on livestock as a daily activity. The development of local cattle as one of the slaughter cattle is still experiencing many obstacles because of its maintenance which is still traditional, very unprofitable because it does not produce to the maximum. Based on the description above, the study aims to determine the social and economic factors that affect the amount of income earned by local cattle farmers. The results showed that the free variable that has a real effect on the income of local cattle business in Inuman District Kuantan Singingi is the scale of cattle (X1), because it has a P-value smaller than the real level = 0.01 or a confidence level of 99 percent. Sedankan other variables have no real effect on the income of local cattle business in Inuman District Kuantan Singingi. Farmers are expected to increase the scale of the amount of livestock maintenance. So that with the more number of cattle raised, it will be more and more to the income of local cattle business in Inuman District Kuantan Singingi.

Abstract

The aim of this research is: 1) To know the counseling had been do that by roler of agriculture farming activities sago in the districts of Tebing Tinggi Timur, 2) Determine the level of empowerment sago farmers in the districts of Tebing Tinggi Timur, 3) Conduct analysis of how much the relationship role of extension to the level of empowerment of sago farmers in the districts of Tebing Tinggi Timur. This research used survey method. Research do in districts of Tebing Tinggi Timur Kepulauan Meranti district starts from April to October 2016. Respondents as many as 60 sago farmers has taken in Purpossive Sampling. The data analysis be used is Scala Likert analysis and Rank Spearman analysis. The result of research shown that: 1) the counselin implementation in districts of Tebing Tinggi Timur less result like hoped of farmer in delivery of material and organized the result of sago farmer, and the role of education in districts of Tebing Tinggi Timur are less “willing category” with score average 2,38. 2) The level of empowerment of sago farmer in districts of Tebing Tinggi Timur in category “quite helpless” with a score average 2,73. 3) Rank spearman analysis results showed that there was a significant relationship between the role of extension to the level of emprowerment of human reseurces and a significant level of productive economic emprowerment but no signifikan effect on the level of institutional emprowerment sago farmers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) find out marketing function and marketing channel of cassava, (2) analyze cost, margin, efficiency marketing and farmer share of cassava. The method used in this research is survey method with technique of sample selection by Random Sampling method. Technique of marketing institution by Snowball Sampling method. The result showed there is two marketing channel, channel I is farmer-collecting merchants-consumer and  channel II is farmer-home industry. The result of this research showed that the marketing cost in channel I is Rp 48,59 and in  channel II is Rp. 27,00. Efficiency marketing in I channel is 1,62% and channel II is 1,57% that means channel II is more efficient. Margin is in channel I. Farmer share channel I is 56,27% and channel II is 100%.
