Abstract

Indonesian plays an important role in the creation of laws and regulations, including regional regulations, as the primary tool for formulating legal norms clearly, firmly, and without producing multiple interpretations. The Regional Regulation of Gorontalo Province as a regional legal product needs to be drafted in good, correct Indonesian, and in accordance with legal language rules in order to realize legal certainty in the implementation of regional government. This study aims to analyze the function of Indonesian in the Regional Regulation of Gorontalo Province, particularly in supporting the clarity of norms and legal certainty. The method used in this study is normative legal research that relies on an approach to legislation and a conceptual approach. The research findings indicate that the application of clear, consistent, and orderly Indonesian in regional regulations has a significant impact on the understanding of legal norms among government officials and the public. Appropriate legal language can avoid ambiguity, variations in interpretation, and the possibility of legal disputes in the implementation of regional regulations. Therefore, optimal use of Indonesian in regional regulations of Gorontalo Province is an important step to ensure legal certainty and increase the effectiveness of regional government implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Indonesian language in business communication regarding the decline in consumer visit frequency at Kalimadu Market. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that the Indonesian language plays a vital role in establishing social relations and creating comfortable interactions between sellers and buyers. However, most traders still focus more on product quality than on communication strategies, resulting in underutilized linguistic effectiveness. The use of mixed languages Indonesian and local dialects also creates communication inconsistencies. Therefore, improving communication competence through polite and effective use of Indonesian is essential to enhance market appeal and customer loyalty.

Abstract

This study investigates the business resilience tactics and financial decisions of the Kopi Limantan MSME located in Gorontalo. Using qualitative methods and a narrative analysis design, this research examines the business's journey from managerial failure at its previous branch to successful reconsolidation with an adaptable cart business model since 2024. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and document review, involving the business owner as the key informant. The results of this study indicate that Kopi Limantan is able to create a competitive advantage through a specific "market algorithm" strategy, targeting products at the women and children segment and diversifying revenue into the banking sector (B2B). Operationally, the implementation of a cost-of-sale (COGS)-based management system and the use of a percentage wage system have proven effective in maintaining financial stability. The study concludes that Kopi Limantan's sustainability relies heavily on a combination of friendly personal service and disciplined adherence to proven operational standards. These findings emphasize the importance of flexibility in the business model and an understanding of local demographics to address changes in the coffee industry at the regional level.

Abstract

The Indonesian language holds a very vital position, not only as a national symbol but also as the main bridge in public service. This is particularly evident in the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). As an organization directly involved in social and health sectors, PMI is required to communicate clearly so that the aid provided actually reaches and is understood by the public. Through an in-depth qualitative approach—through field observations, direct conversations (interviews), and document checks—it is evident that Indonesian indeed serves as the backbone of communication at PMI, both in direct conversations and written instructions. In general, its use has been quite effective. Even so, challenges still arise in the field. The issues that often occur usually revolve around the use of medical terms that are too technical for laypeople or inconsistent language style, which sometimes causes misunderstandings among the public. To minimize this, it seems important for PMI officers to regularly sharpen their communication skills through public service language training so that the humanitarian messages they convey can be received more warmly and clearly.

Abstract

Health promotion is a crucial effort in improving public health, and its success is greatly influenced by the communication media used, one of which is language. In addition to aiming to change behavior, health promotion also plays a role in transforming the environment to facilitate changes towards healthier behaviors. Meanwhile, the high use of digital platforms among adolescents makes social media a potential tool with high urgency for disseminating health information. Social media allows fast and widespread access to health education content, improves health literacy, and encourages adolescents' active participation in maintaining their health. Research shows that health promotion through social media is effective in increasing health knowledge and motivating healthy behavior changes. However, its implementation faces various challenges, including the spread of misinformation, lack of content personalization, concerns regarding privacy and security, and adolescents' limited critical thinking skills in selecting accurate information. This paper aims to examine the role of Indonesian in health promotion, both generally and in the context of dissemination through social media for adolescents, as well as its contribution to increasing public understanding, awareness, and behavioral change.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the Indonesian language in economic activities at AP Studio as a photography service business, particularly in the contexts of service delivery and promotion. This research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews with the owner and management of AP Studio, and documentation of promotional materials and social media content. The data were analyzed qualitatively through categorization, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Indonesian language is dominantly used in promotional activities and the delivery of service information, such as explaining service packages, pricing, and booking procedures, while direct service interactions apply flexible communication by combining the Indonesian language with the local Gorontalo dialect to create a more comfortable and friendly service atmosphere. Adjusting language use according to context and customer characteristics enhances service efficiency, reduces potential misunderstandings, and strengthens interactions between service providers and customers. Overall, the communicative and contextual use of the Indonesian language contributes to improved customer comfort, supports operational effectiveness, strengthens AP Studio’s identity as a professional and approachable photography service business, and promotes business sustainability within the creative economy sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Indonesian language in the preparation of legal documents at the Legal Aid Institute of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo, and its implications for clients’ understanding and interpretation as lay members of society. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews with the Head of the Legal Aid Institute and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the use of standard, accurate, and legally appropriate Indonesian significantly affects the clarity and effectiveness of legal aid documents. However, differences in the meaning of legal terms between the Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI), statutory regulations, and public understanding often create potential ambiguity in document interpretation. Therefore, the Legal Aid Institute plays a crucial role in verifying, simplifying, and explaining legal language to ensure clients’ comprehension without diminishing its normative substance. This study confirms that the quality of Indonesian language use in legal aid documents is a key factor in ensuring legal certainty and enhancing access to justice for the community.

Abstract

Penulis dalam penelitiannya bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan menganalisis fenomena budaya komunikasi yang terjadi di lingkungan kampus Politeknik Madyathika Purbalingga. Budaya komunikasi sendiri termasuk bagian penting kehidupan sosial mahasiswa yang mencerminkan cara mereka berinteraksi, membangun relasi, serta menyampaikan nilai dan identitas kelompok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi fenomenologi, untuk menggali pengalaman komunikasi mahasiswa secara mendalam melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pola komunikasi khas yang terbentuk dari latar belakang sosial, kebiasaan digital, serta lingkungan akademik kampus. Mahasiswa mengembangkan budaya komunikasi yang bersifat informal, adaptif, dan kolaboratif, terutama melalui media sosial dan aplikasi pesan instan. Di sisi lain, masih terdapat tantangan dalam menjaga etika komunikasi, terutama dalam konteks formal dan lintas generasi. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian penulis bahwa budaya komunikasi mahasiswa di Politeknik Madyathika Purbalingga mencerminkan dinamika sosial yang kompleks serta menjadi cerminan perubahan pola komunikasi generasi muda di era digital.

Abstract

Health promotion is an essential effort to improve public health, and its effectiveness is strongly influenced by the communication strategies employed, particularly the use of language. Indonesian plays a crucial role as a medium for delivering health messages that are clear, accurate, and easily understood by the community. This study aims to examine the role of Indonesian as an effective medium in health promotion activities at community health centers. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with health workers involved in health promotion programs. The findings indicate that the use of simple, communicative, and context-appropriate Indonesian enhances public understanding, awareness, and acceptance of health information. However, several challenges were identified, including differences in language comprehension among community members, especially the elderly, and the risk of miscommunication. Overall, the study concludes that optimizing the use of Indonesian tailored to the characteristics of the target audience can significantly improve the effectiveness of health promotion and encourage positive health behavior changes in the community.
