Abstract

Father involvement in early childhood is a critical determinant of children’s cognitive development, emotional stability, social competence, and academic achievement. In Indonesia, however, fathers’ participation in parenting remains relatively low, influenced by cultural norms, gender expectations, and work-related demands. This community service program, implemented at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal 23 GDC in Depok, sought to strengthen father involvement through a community-based workshop approach. The program featured interactive sessions, experience sharing, and role-play activities aimed at enhancing fathers’ parenting knowledge and skills. Core topics included effective communication, bonding activities, and strategies for balancing work and family responsibilities. Participants reported gaining valuable insights and practical tools to support their roles as emotionally and socially responsive caregivers. Overall, this initiative underscores the importance of redefining fatherhood in contemporary Indonesian families and contributes to the broader vision of cultivating a strong, character-driven generation in preparation for Indonesia Emas 2045.

Abstract

Psychoeducation on the Implementation of Environmentally Friendly Green Entrepreneurship for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) run by UNJ Students and Alumni in the food production sector, namely Dath Crumbs and Juragan Dimsum, as well as in the artificial flower arrangement service business, By.Paeonia. This activity was also attended by several students who are interested in entrepreneurship. This community service program was carried out to raise awareness among UNJ students and alumni entrepreneurs of the role they can play in protecting the environment while striving to gain profit from their businesses. We aim to foster awareness of environmental issues starting from our closest surroundings. The education we provided began with the introduction of the concept of green entrepreneurship, the importance of sustainability awareness among business actors, and the application of ecopreneurship in the food, beverage, and artificial flower industries. In this seminar, we also discussed the benefits that entrepreneurs can obtain by applying ecopreneurship. Moreover, as part of the younger generation, their businesses are more likely to endure in the long term. The mean score showed an improvement of 0.40 from the pretest to the posttest. Therefore, we hope that these entrepreneurs will eventually become green entrepreneurs and ecoinnovators—a generation that contributes ideas for running sustainable businesses in order to achieve SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.

Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition commonly found in school-aged children. However, many teachers still have a limited understanding of ADHD and how to manage students with this condition effectively. Such limitations may reduce the support provided for students and hinder their academic and social development. To address this issue, a community service program was conducted in the form of psychoeducation for teachers. The program aimed to increase teachers’ knowledge of ADHD characteristics, early identification, classroom behavior management, and collaboration with parents and professionals. The activities included interactive lectures, case study discussions, and simulations of inclusive learning strategies. Participants were actively engaged throughout the sessions and showed increased awareness of ADHD and its implications for the learning process. Pre- and post-program evaluations indicated a measurable improvement in participants’ understanding, with the average pre-test score of 89.9 increasing to an average post-test score of 97.2, representing a 7.27% improvement. While most teachers were already aware of ADHD symptoms, they reported needing clearer guidance on practical steps for intervention and classroom application. This community service activity demonstrates that psychoeducational programs can effectively strengthen teachers’ capacity to create more inclusive, supportive, and conducive learning environments, providing students with ADHD greater opportunities for optimal academic and social growth.

Abstract

Teachers’ well-being is a crucial factor that directly influences the quality of teaching and learning processes. However, teachers often experience psychological distress due to heavy workloads, administrative duties, and limited economic welfare. These pressures reduce their motivation and mental health, which negatively impacts educational quality. This community service program aims to implement mindfulness training as an intervention to enhance teachers’ well-being in elementary schools in Kebumen Regency. A total of 105 teachers participated, divided into an experimental group (55 teachers) and a control group (50 teachers). The program used sandplay therapy-based mindfulness training within a quasi-experimental design. Training activities included mindfulness awareness, breathing techniques, emotional regulation, and reflection sessions using sandplay media. The evaluation showed asignificant improvement in well-being among teachers who attended the training (p = 0.019), compared to minor external changes in the control group (p = 0.013). Qualitative reflections also revealed that participants felt calmer, more focused, and more motivated in teaching after the program. The findings confirm that mindfulness training is an effective and low-cost psychological intervention that can be integrated into teacher professional development programs. This program highlights the importance of addressing teachers’ mental health as part of national education quality improvement strategies.

Abstract

Student mental health is an important issue in higher education, with data showing an increase in the prevalence of mental health disorders, while access to professional services remains limited. The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Sebelas Maret University (FISIP UNS) has established a Mental Health Agent (MHA) unit supported by peer counselors in an effort to expand university-based mental health services. However, initial assessments indicate that peer counselors have not received adequate training in emotional regulation skills, which are essential for their mentoring role. This MBKM Research Program offers an intervention in the form of the Peer Counselor Emotional Mastery Program (PC-EM), a psychological education program consisting of four sessions designed based on the emotional regulation process model (Gross, 2001). Each session combines theoretical understanding, interactive discussion, self-reflection, and practical exercises through worksheets and case simulations. This activity involved ten peer counselors from MHA FISIP UNS and was evaluated using pre- and post-tests to assess improvements in knowledge and emotional regulation skills. Descriptive results from pre-test and post-test calculations show positive developments in participants' emotional recognition and control abilities. This program contributes to strengthening the capacity of peer counselors and supports the development of a preventive, participatory, and sustainable university-based mental health service model.

Abstract

Inclusive education in Indonesia requires teachers to be prepared not only in pedagogical aspects but also in mental and psychological readiness to manage student diversity. However, many teachers still face challenges in terms of limited knowledge, skills, and psychological well-being in inclusive teaching practices. This community service program aimed to strengthen teachers’ mental readiness and psychological approaches through psychoeducational interventions. The program was conducted at SMP Negeri 10 Malang, involving 37 teachers, shadow teachers, and inclusive education teachers. The implementation method consisted of four psychoeducational sessions, including interactive lectures, case discussions, role play, and pretest–post-test-based evaluation. The analysis results showed a significant improvement in psychological well-being (M pretest = 81.9; M post-test = 90.3; p = 0.001). These findings indicate that the training successfully enhanced teachers’ mental readiness in facing the demands of inclusive education. Thus, psychoeducation is proven effective as a strategy to strengthen teachers’ capacity while providing practical implications for the development of sustainable training models based on psychological approaches. Abstract

In the era of Industrial Revolution, industries require not only technical skills but also adaptive capabilities, flexible thinking, psychological resilience, and career direction awareness (Schwab, 2017). Indonesian Vocational High School (SMK) have a strategic role in preparing graduates to enter the workforce. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS, 2023) show that SMK graduates still have the highest unemployment rate among all educational levels, reaching 9.42%. In Surakarta, Wibowo (2024) reports the unemployment rate of SMK graduates remains the highest compared to other education levels, at 1.85%. These conditions highlight the need to strengthen student’s learning agility to navigate a dynamic and unpredictable work environment. To address these challenges, the research team designed and implemented a learning agility training. The training included a conceptual introduction, reflective activities, and interactive sessions that operationalized the dimensions of learning agility. The study employed a quasi-experimental one group pretest-posttest design and was conducted at SMKN 1 Surakarta. Participants were selected from the class with the lowest average pretest score, resulting in a final sample of 28 students from Grade 11 Digital Business-1. After the training, participants required to complete the posttest. Descriptive and inferential analyses showed no significant difference between pretest (M = 142) and posttest (M = 139) scores, t(27) = 1.50, p = 0.144, with a small effect size (d = 0.284). These findings indicate that the short duration and compact schedule may have limited its statistical impact, suggesting the need for longer or multi-session interventions in future programs.
