Abstract

The training method for an actor is the first step that becomes an important part of the success of a theater performance. The right training for actors is training that can develop their potential, such as the actor training conducted by the Ruang Seni Foundation in Tuban Regency. Actor training conducted by the Ruang Seni Pribumi Foundation is carried out once a year and is attended by high school / junior high school / high school theater communities in Tuban Regency. The research method used is qualitative with a qualitative descriptive approach that uses data collection techniques in the form of direct observation, structured interviews and field documentation in the form of photographs. Researchers used triangulation of sources and techniques to test the validity and truth of the research. The results showed that the Ruang Seni Pribumi Foundation in the acting training conducted absorbed Constanin Stanislavsky's theory of acting from 15 stages into 5 stages to make it easier for trainees to understand the concept of playing a role for an actor. The results of the application of the acting training method can be seen in the performance of actors in portraying characters when participating in festivals and winning, as well as in the best presenter category and the best actor and actress nominations.

Abstract

Differentiated instruction has emerged as a crucial issue in education to address the varying needs of students in the classroom, specifically in mathematics subjects at the junior high school level. This approach highlights the importance of tailoring learning strategies to meet the distinctive needs of each student, taking into account their cognitive style, interests, and level of learning readiness. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the differentiated instruction model. This study employed a descriptive-qualitative approach, with an observation sheet as an instrument for data collection. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, along with validity testing using triangulation techniques. The results showed that the teacher’s implementation of differentiated instruction increased significantly between the first and second meetings, with the percentage of implementations increasing from 85.71% to 92.86%. Students demonstrated various responses based on their cognitive styles: reflective students showed a high level of organization and self-confidence; impulsive students were prompt in providing answers but less accurate; and slow-inaccurate students required more time to process information and frequently made mistakes. The implementation of the differentiated instruction strategy at State Junior High School (SMPN) 2 Sumbergempol has been proven to improve the quality of mathematics learning. This approach can serve as a valuable model for other schools seeking to improve their teaching methods. It was suggested that further research could be carried out over an extended period with long-term impact evaluations, as well as additional training for teachers to implement differentiated instruction strategies effectively.

Abstract

Pendet dance is a Balinese dance that contains a variety of basic movements including agem, tandang, tangkis, and tangkep. These movements are introduced early on or at the phase A elementary school level. To develop cognitive understanding, pop up books are used as learning media for the introduction of Pendet dance movements. Because this kind of media has never been available before, it is considered important to provide in schools. Therefore, it is necessary to have interesting learning media applied at SD Negeri Lidah Wetan II Surabaya. The purpose of this study is to describe, 1) the process of developing pop up book of Pendet dance basics as a form of art appreciation education for elementary school (phase A), 2) the feasibility of content components and appearance components of pop up book developed to produce quality books, and 3) user responses about pop up book of Pendet dance basics. Supported by the development method, the pop up book development process uses the Analyze, Design, Development, Implement, Evaluate stages. Validation by media and material experts showed that the content components and appearance of the pop up book were considered very feasible. User trials were conducted to determine student and teacher responses to the pop up book. The percentage of results shows that the pop up book gets a value from media validation of 82.5%, material validation of 92.5%, the first teacher's response of 90%, the second teacher's response of 95% and student responses that show an increase in the answer "yes" from each question asked. Thus, pop up book media can be used as a medium for introducing movement variety for elementary school (phase A) and students interact actively during the learning process through pop up book.

Abstract

This research explores the impact of implementing technology-based learning innovations on student literacy and numeracy at SMP Negeri 1 Makassar using a qualitative approach. Data was collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers, and focus group discussions with students. The research results show that the integration of technology, including online learning applications and educational tools, has significantly increased student engagement and made it easier for them to access learning materials. Technology also contributes to more interactive and interesting learning, and supports better understanding of the material. Although many teachers display positive attitudes towards the use of technology, some experience challenges related to inadequate training and limited infrastructure. Students, on the other hand, felt more motivated and engaged in learning after technology was implemented, with visible improvements in their literacy and numeracy scores. This research recommends improving technology infrastructure, ongoing training for teachers, and adjusting the curriculum to be more adaptive to the use of technology. These findings confirm that technology has great potential to improve educational outcomes and prepare students to face the challenges of the 21st century more effectively.
