Abstract

Purpose: The study aims to determine the effect of green fund ownership and return on assets on total assets in coal companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Green fund ownership is proxied by ESG ownership, while profitability is proxied by return on assets (ROA). Research Method: This research used a quantitative approach using secondary data. The sample selection technique used purposive sampling, with 10 companies sampled at four-year intervals, resulting in a total sample of 40 companies. The data analysis methods used were descriptive analysis, classical assumption tests, normality tests, multicollinearity tests, heteroscedasticity tests, autocorrelation tests, multiple linear regression tests, T-tests, and F-tests using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) application. Results and Discussion: The findings of this study indicate that green fund ownership and return on assets each have a positive and significant effect on total assets in coal companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Implications: The results reinforce the argument that institutional investors with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) preferences may encourage firms to adopt sustainable business practices, thereby enhancing their ability to attract capital and expand their asset base. Originality: This research contributes empirical evidence from an emerging economy, specifically Indonesia, where studies investigating the interaction between ESG-oriented ownership, financial performance, and corporate asset growth remain limited.

Abstract

Indonesia Stock Exchange to the announcement of the Finance Minister’s replacement. It tests whether daily average abnormal returns (AAR) differ throughout the event window and whether AAR differs between the pre- and post-announcement periods. Research Method: A quantitative event-study design was applied to 45 banking issuers that remained actively traded during an 11-day event window, from t−5 to t+5, producing 495 observations. Abnormal returns were calculated from daily closing stock prices and Composite Stock Price Index returns. Because most data were non-normally distributed, the Friedman Test and Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test were employed. Results and Discussion: Daily AAR differed significantly across the event window (χ² = 49.341; p = 0.000), with the strongest difference occurring between t−2 and t+2 (p = 0.002). AAR also differed significantly before and after the announcement (Z = −3.883; p = 0.000). The findings indicate that the replacement was interpreted as a relevant political-economic signal and generated a short-term market adjustment. Implications: Investors should incorporate political-economic developments into investment analysis, while policymakers should communicate policy directions consistently to reduce uncertainty. Future studies should include other sectors, longer event windows, and additional market indicators. Originality: This study provides specific evidence on Indonesian banking-stock reactions to a Finance Ministerial replacement using nonparametric event-study analysis.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effects of profitability, liquidity, and solvency on the stock prices of banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2025. It tests whether Return on Assets (ROA), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) significantly influence banking stock prices. Research Method: A quantitative associative design with multiple linear regression was employed. Annual financial statements and stock-price data were collected from 31 banks selected through purposive sampling, producing 186 observations after extreme values were removed using the z-score criterion. Stock prices were transformed into natural logarithms, while ROA, LDR, and CAR remained in ratio form. The data were analyzed using SPSS 26. Results and Discussion: ROA positively and significantly affects stock prices (B = 76.973; p = 0.000), indicating that investors value efficient asset utilization. LDR has no significant effect (B = 0.065; p = 0.847), whereas CAR has a significant negative effect (B = −2.324; p = 0.000), suggesting that excessive capital may indicate inefficient capital utilization. The model explains 37.9% of stock-price variation. Implications: Bank management should strengthen profitability and utilize capital efficiently. Future studies should apply robust panel-data methods and include macroeconomic and bank-specific variables. Originality: This study provides post-pandemic evidence that banking solvency may be interpreted negatively when capital accumulation is not accompanied by productive expansion.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effects of work-life balance and workload on job stress and investigates the mediating role of psychological well-being among employees of PT Pegadaian Terandam Branch. Research Method: A quantitative research design with a census approach was employed, involving all 60 employees of PT Pegadaian Terandam Branch as respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1.1.7. Results and Discussion: The findings indicate that work-life balance has a significant negative effect on job stress and a significant positive effect on psychological well-being. Conversely, workload has a significant positive effect on job stress and a significant negative effect on psychological well-being. Psychological well-being also has a significant negative effect on job stress. It serves as a complementary partial mediator in the relationships between work-life balance and job stress as well as between workload and job stress. Implications: The findings highlight the importance of promoting work-life balance, managing workload effectively, and enhancing employees' psychological well-being as strategic approaches to reducing job stress and improving organizational performance. Originality: This study extends the application of the Conservation of Resources Theory by demonstrating the mediating role of psychological well-being in explaining the relationships between work-life balance, workload, and job stress among employees of a state-owned financial service institution.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the partial and simultaneous effects of digital marketing, word of mouth, and service quality on customer satisfaction at Toko ATK Damai in Topoyo District. Research Method: A quantitative associative design was employed using primary data collected from 95 customers selected through incidental sampling. Data were obtained through questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. The hypotheses were tested using validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, an F-test, and the coefficient of determination. Results and Discussion: Digital marketing positively and significantly affects customer satisfaction (t = 3.297; p = 0.001), as does word of mouth (t = 3.037; p = 0.003). Service quality has the strongest positive effect (t = 9.142; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, the three variables significantly influence customer satisfaction (F = 146.618; p < 0.001), explaining 82.9% of its variation. Implications: Retail managers should strengthen digital communication, encourage positive customer recommendations, and improve employee responsiveness and service consistency. Future studies should examine customer loyalty, trust, and repurchase intention across broader locations. Originality: This study integrates digital marketing, word of mouth, and service quality within a single model to explain customer satisfaction in a local general-merchandise retail context.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effects of capital structure and liquidity on firm value, with profitability as a mediating variable, in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024. Research Method: This study employed a quantitative approach using panel data analysis. Secondary data from 44 food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024 were selected through purposive sampling. Firm value (Tobin’s Q), capital structure (DER), liquidity (CR), and profitability (ROA) were analyzed using panel regression and the Sobel test with EViews 12. Results and Discussion: Capital structure, liquidity, and profitability have no significant effect on firm value. Profitability also fails to mediate the relationships between capital structure, liquidity, and firm value, indicating that other factors may better explain firm value. Implications: The findings suggest that other factors may better explain firm value. Future research should examine additional determinants across different sectors and periods. Originality: This study contributes updated evidence by examining profitability as a mediating variable in food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines whether role breadth self-efficacy (RBSE), confidence in undertaking tasks beyond prescribed roles, explains the relationship between employee competence and performance, and whether work discipline contributes independently. Research Method: A two-wave census survey involved all 55 employees of a state-owned pawnbroking branch in Manado, Indonesia. Competence and work discipline were measured at Time 1, RBSE four weeks later, and immediate supervisors rated performance. Fifty-three employees completed both waves and were matched with ratings from four supervisors. Partial least squares structural equation modeling was used. Results and Discussion: Competence did not directly predict performance but predicted RBSE, which subsequently predicted supervisor-rated performance. The positive indirect effect through RBSE had a bias-corrected interval excluding zero, indicating indirect-only mediation, while work discipline retained a direct association. Thus, competence was linked to performance mainly through employees’ confidence to act beyond prescribed roles, although causality cannot be inferred. Implications: Competence development may need to be paired with involvement and task control, although no intervention was tested. Originality: RBSE is positioned as a candidate activation mechanism in Indonesian financial-service work, extending prior models emphasizing person-job fit or job satisfaction.
