Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Arts and Scouts extracurricular programs in instilling the values of religious moderation to address the crisis of tolerance, exclusive grouping, and potential bullying among fifth-grade students at MIN 9 Aceh Tengah. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this research involved students, homeroom teachers, and instructors selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participant observation, interviews, and document analysis. The main findings indicate that the member randomization system (rolling groups) in the Scouts program compels students to collaborate across groups, thereby effectively instilling the values of tawazun (balance) and i'tidal (justice). Furthermore, the Arts extracurricular program was shown to foster tolerance (tasamuh) by honing emotional sensitivity and harmonization. The practical implications of this study confirm that integrating the values of religious moderation through extracurricular platforms successfully breaks down exclusive barriers, mitigates the risk of bullying, and fosters a harmonious madrasah culture.

Abstract

The normalization of micro-bullying in elementary schools often appears through teasing, joking, and subtle social exclusion. This study investigates how religion-based character education at MI Tarbiyatusy Syubban, Pati, Central Java, operates as a hidden curriculum to foster empathy and prevent bullying. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that verbal and social bullying are frequently perceived as harmless jokes, shaped by low student empathy, inconsistent values between home and school, and limited emotional reflection in character education practices. In response, religious education functions not merely as normative instruction but as an implicit process of empathy internalization through teacher exemplarity, social habituation, and a spiritual school environment. This study introduces the concept of the religious-empathic hidden curriculum, referring to the implicit transmission of spiritual values that shape students’ social behavior and emotional sensitivity. The findings extend the theories of Lickona and Bandura by emphasizing the transcendental dimension of empathy formation in children.

Abstract

This study examines differentiated learning for elementary school students with neurodevelopmental disorders, such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and dyslexia. The study emphasizes the importance of adaptive and inclusive learning approaches to address diverse student needs. This research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using the PRISMA 2020 framework. Data were collected using the Harzing Publish or Perish (PoP) application from Scopus, Google Scholar, Crossref, and Elicit, with inclusion criteria limited to Scopus- or SINTA-indexed articles published between 2020 and 2025. Of the 158 identified articles, four met all eligibility criteria and were analyzed using NVivo to identify key themes. The findings indicate that differentiated learning improves academic achievement, learning engagement, and students’ socio-emotional development by adjusting content, processes, products, and learning environments. The review also highlights the importance of teacher readiness, interdisciplinary collaboration, and inclusive school support in optimizing learning outcomes and inclusive educational practices in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the quality of teacher-made tests in the Madrasah Examination for the Fikih of sixth-grade at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Hulu Sungai Tengah. The study employed quantitative evaluation method involving 125 students as research participants. The instrument analyzed consisted of 20 items. Data analysis was conducted using the Winsteps program to determine the fit of the test items to the Rasch model and to identify the characteristics of item difficulty levels. The results showed that all test items met the model fit criteria based on the MNSQ, ZSTD and Pt-Measure Corr values. These findings indicate that the instrument was able to measure students’ abilities appropriately. The item difficulty analysis revealed that 18 items were categorized as good difficulty levels because they measure values within the range of -2.0 to +2.0. The distribution of items was still dominated by easy and moderate questions, indicating that the measurement of students’ HOTs not been optimal. This study concludes that teacher-made tests still require improvement in terms of difficulty level distribution and the development of HOTs, to provide important implications for teachers to improving the quality of learning through the development of instruments were valid, reliable, objective, and reflective.
