Abstract

This study aims to develop an educational game tool, “Feed the Chicken,” to enhance the cognitive abilities of early childhood children. The development process follows a research and development (R&D) approach, including needs analysis, design, prototyping, testing, revision, and evaluation. The game is designed to stimulate memory, attention, decision-making, and problem-solving skills through interactive and enjoyable activities suitable for children aged 4–6 years. Validation by experts and field testing in early childhood education settings ensure the game is effective, practical, and engaging. The study emphasizes the importance of local adaptation, teacher and parental involvement, and scalable design to accommodate various cognitive levels. Findings indicate that children show improved cognitive performance, higher engagement, and increased motivation during learning activities using the game. The “Feed the Chicken” tool demonstrates that educational games can serve as an innovative media to support early childhood cognitive development while providing enjoyable and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in implementing social rehabilitation guidance for deaf students at SLB Negeri 1 Sinjai. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research subjects were teachers directly involved in the learning and guidance of deaf students. The results of the study indicate that teachers have a very strategic role not only as teachers, but also as guides, facilitators, and supporters of students' social-emotional development. Rehabilitation guidance is carried out through the use of sign language, visual media, and an individual approach according to the students' needs. In addition, teachers also play a role in building communication with parents to support optimal student development. Despite various obstacles such as limited facilities, differences in student abilities, and a lack of professional staff, teachers continue to strive to overcome these through creativity and collaboration. The use of sign language has proven effective in improving communication, understanding, and self-confidence of deaf students in the learning process.

Abstract

Learning motivation is a critical determinant of student’s academic success, particularly in basic physics courses. This study aims to examine the effect of a flipbook-based practicum module integrated with PhET simulations, implemented within an academic guidance framework, on students' learning motivation at STAIN Mandailing Natal. The study employed a quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample consisted of 32 students from the Science Education Study Program, selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire based on ARCS dimensions (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction), which was validated (Aiken's V = 0.84–0.92; α = 0.89). Data were analyzed using Paired Sample t-test, Cohen's d, and Normalized Gain. Results indicated: (1) a significant increase in learning motivation after the intervention, t(31) = 16.32; p < 0.001; (2) a very large effect size (Cohen's d = 2.88) with a moderate improvement category (N-Gain = 0.46); (3) the Confidence and Satisfaction dimensions showed the highest gains. It is concluded that integrating flipbook-PhET modules within academic guidance effectively enhances students' learning motivation. This study provides empirical contributions to the development of innovative academic guidance models in Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan perencanaan dan kesiapan-kesiapan yang harus dipersiapkan demi mendapatkan pernikahan yang bahagia, serta mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peran konseling pernikahan dalam penanganan problem relasi keluarga dalam membangun keluarga sakinah. Metode yang digunakan library research, dengan tekhnik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa problematika relasi keluarga semakin komplek sehingga mengakibatkan ketidakharmonisan dalam keluarga. Upaya yang dapat digunakan untuk mencegah dan mengurangi problem relasi keluarga adalah melalui layanan konseling pernikahan. Konseling perkawinan diarahkan pada lima tahap orientasi yaitu memahami makna keluarga, meningkatkan kesadaran dan dinamika keluarga, komunikasi dan terapi, membangun interaksi dan relasi keluarga, penanganan problem keluarga, membina hubungan keluarga melalui gaya kelekatan keluarga. Lima orientasi ini merupakan upaya preventif mengurangi dan menangani problem relasi keluarga, selanjutnya dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu strategi membangun hubungan keluarga sakinah.
