Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of dhikr and prayer therapy in reducing stress levels in the elderly. Stress is one of the psychological disorders often experienced by the elderly due to physical, social and emotional changes that occur with age. In the Islamic context, worship such as dhikr and prayer not only has a spiritual dimension, but can also function as a form of psychological therapy that calms the soul. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of several elderly people who routinely practice dhikr and prayer in the environment of houses of worship and elderly communities. The results showed that the consistent practice of dhikr and prayer can provide inner peace, reduce stress symptoms, and increase the meaning of life in the elderly. This spiritual therapy proved effective as a form of non-medical intervention that is easily accessible and in accordance with the religious values of Muslim elderly. The implications of this study are expected to be a reference in a holistic approach to elderly mental health based on Islamic values.

Abstract

This paper explores the importance of literacy in Islamic education as a foundation for character building, spirituality, and critical thinking skills. Literacy in Islam is not limited to the ability to read and write, but also includes a deep understanding of divine revelation, moral values, and life ethics. This study uses a qualitative approach through library research by examining Qur’anic verses such as Surah Al-‘Alaq (verses 1–5) and Surah Ali Imran (verses 190–191), along with scholarly interpretations. The findings indicate that Islamic literacy education should cover three main dimensions: literacy towards sacred texts, critical thinking guided by the principle of tabayyun (verification), and moral and spiritual awareness. Abstract

Language learning encompasses various complex aspects, one of which is the mastery of key issues such as competence and performance, comprehension and production, as well as the debate between nature and nurture in language acquisition. This article provides a detailed discussion on how these aspects play a role in the learning process and explores strategies that can be used to develop and strengthen them. This study is supported by various theoretical references and research findings in the fields of applied linguistics and language education.

Abstract

Character education is a crucial aspect in shaping the personality and integrity of university students. In the context of globalization and rapid technological advancement, the moral and social challenges faced by the younger generation are becoming increasingly complex. Therefore, higher education institutions are not only responsible for the intellectual development of students, but also for shaping character based on ethical values, social responsibility, and leadership. This article discusses the urgency of integrating character education into the higher education curriculum, effective implementation strategies, and the role of lecturers and institutions in instilling character values in students. Through a holistic and sustainable approach, character education is expected to produce graduates who are not only academically competent but also possess high moral integrity and contribute positively to society.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi digital memberikan dampak besar dalam dunia pendidikan, terutama terhadap perilaku siswa. Penggunaan handphone yang lebih banyak dimanfaatkan untuk hiburan daripada belajar menimbulkan kekhawatiran terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana implementasi pendidikan karakter mampu menanggulangi dampak negatif teknologi terhadap perilaku siswa. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket tertutup skala Likert. Angket terdiri dari 10 pernyataan yang mencakup tiga aspek: pengaruh penggunaan handphone terhadap konsentrasi belajar, persepsi siswa terhadap pemahaman nilai karakter oleh guru, dan pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di sekolah. Data diperoleh dari 30 siswa yang dipilih secara acak dan dianalisis menggunakan Microsoft Excel 2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan handphone memberikan pengaruh tinggi terhadap konsentrasi belajar (82%). Persepsi siswa terhadap pemahaman nilai karakter oleh guru tergolong tinggi (74%), namun pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter di sekolah hanya berada pada kategori cukup (55%). Temuan ini menunjukkan perlunya penguatan implementasi pendidikan karakter melalui keteladanan guru, pembiasaan sikap positif, serta kolaborasi antara sekolah dan orang tua.

Abstract

The development of information technology encourages organizations and industries to manage large amounts of data in a more efficient, secure, and structured way. Database Management System (DBMS) comes as the main solution in managing and storing data, while supporting accurate data-based decision-making process. DBMS not only acts as a storage medium, but also provides security mechanisms, integration, and controlled multi-user access. As the need for data processing efficiency increases, various modern storage methods such as cloud storage are also increasingly in demand due to their flexibility and scalability in managing digital data. This article discusses the strategic role of DBMS in modern information systems, its architecture and main components, the efficiency of data storage through various media, and its integration with cloud technology as a data management solution today. Through database-based data management, organizations can minimize redundancy, improve accuracy, and accelerate the decision-making process, both in digital and industrial business environments.

Abstract

Social Media is a technology used to communicate as well as to access available content. Social media if used excessively will result in addiction, for this reason anticipation or prevention is needed. On the other hand, students’ mental health also needs to be maintained, because with a healthy mentality students will more easily understand the learning taught by the teacher in class and will be more active in participating in activities. The research used a qualitative approach and the type was a case study. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. Analyzing data through data reduction, presenting data and concluding data. The role of Islamic Religious Education in anticipating social media addiction and maintaining students’ mental health at MTs Negeri 15 Jombang is realized through learning social media adab to wisely use social media, as well as by participating in religious-based activities carried out regularly by students, aiming to anticipate social media addiction and maintain students’ mental health.

Abstract

Religious activities in schools are a strategic effort to shape character and enhance students' spirituality. This article discusses the role of "Religious Friday" activities routinely implemented at SMKN 1 Jombang as a means of fostering students’ spiritual awareness. These activities include the recitation of Surah Yasin, tahlil, sholawat, and istighotsah, guided by Islamic education teachers. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, with data collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that Religious Friday activities contribute positively to developing students’ religious behavior, discipline in worship, and the internalization of values such as sincerity, responsibility, and social care. Furthermore, active teacher involvement and a supportive school environment are essential factors in the program’s success. Therefore, Religious Friday activities are not merely ceremonial routines but serve as an effective instrument in nurturing and strengthening students’ spirituality within the school context.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the cultural da'wah strategy implemented by Ustadz Zainal Arifin in Biyoro Hamlet, Kandangan Village, Kandangan District, Kediri Regency. Cultural da'wah refers to a preaching approach that integrates Islamic values with local culture. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results show that Ustadz Zainal Arifin employed a strategy of Islamizing local traditions through activities such as Barikan and religious gatherings, gradual and empathetic approaches, exemplary behavior, and effective interpersonal communication. These strategies have led to increased religious understanding and practices among the community. Supporting factors include the active role of the preacher, support from local leaders, and a humanistic approach. Hindering factors include low education levels and strong adherence to traditional Javanese beliefs. This research is expected to serve as a reference for culturally adaptive da'wah development.

Abstract

Financial information systems are vital components in managing an organization's financial data, making them highly vulnerable to security threats such as data theft and information manipulation. To address these challenges, the implementation of encryption technology has become a primary solution to ensure data confidentiality and integrity. This study aims to analyze various encryption methods used in financial database systems, including RC4,SHA3-512, RSA, and homomorphic encryption algorithms. The research method used is a qualitative approach through literature studies of scientific journals published from 2021 onwards. The results indicate that implementing the right combination of encryption algorithms can enhance protection against cyber-attacks and maintain the privacy of financial data optimally. These findings emphasize the importance of encryption-based security systems in supporting the reliability and user trust in financial information systems.
