Abstract

This research is motivated by the rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the academic ecosystem, which offers research efficiency but simultaneously triggers risks of cognitive degradation and scientific ethical crises. This study aims to evaluate the role of AI as a cognitive supporting tool and analyze the challenges to the authenticity of thinking across all stages of the scientific method. The study employs a multi-methodology approach integrating five systematic research methods: a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), explanatory quantitative surveys, comparative qualitative content analysis assisted by Natural Language Processing (NLP) semantic algorithms, controlled computational simulation experiments, and an explorative phenomenological case study. The results indicate that AI provenly functions as an effective supporting tool capable of exponentially reducing research bureaucracy and expanding big data analysis capabilities. However, empirical testing also confirms substantial risks, including cognitive offloading, disguised plagiarism, and the threat of pseudo-correlation due to the "black box" nature of advanced algorithms. In conclusion, AI shifts the scientific method from a traditional linear approach into an exponential data-driven cycle. Consequently, higher education institutions are recommended to immediately formulate strict AI governance regulations while maintaining the "human-in-the-loop" principle to preserve intellectual integrity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine two widely used approaches in quantitative research, namely Correlational Design and Comparative Design. The discussion focuses on understanding the concepts, characteristics, operational procedures, and practical applications of both research Designs in educational and social science studies. The research employed a library research method with a descriptive qualitative approach by reviewing relevant books, scientific journals, and methodological references. The findings indicate that Correlational Design is used to identify and analyze relationships among variables without any researcher intervention, enabling the exploration of association patterns and the prediction of certain phenomena. Meanwhile, Comparative Design is intended to compare two or more naturally existing groups in order to identify similarities and differences in specific variables. Although both approaches do not involve experimental manipulation, they differ in their primary focus. Correlational Design emphasizes the strength and direction of relationships among variables, whereas Comparative Design concentrates on differences between groups. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of these two research Designs is essential for researchers in selecting the most appropriate method according to their research objectives and in producing valid, reliable, and scientifically accountable findings.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the concept, types, comparisons, and applications of experimental design in quantitative research. The study employed a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data were collected through documentation techniques from books, scientific journals, and other relevant references related to experimental design. The data were analyzed using content analysis to identify, classify, and interpret the characteristics of various experimental designs. The findings indicate that experimental design is an essential research framework for examining causal relationships between variables. Experimental design consists of three main forms, namely pre-experimental design, quasi-experimental design, and true experimental design, each having different levels of control, validity, and applicability. Among these, true experimental design has the highest internal validity, while quasi-experimental design is the most frequently applied in educational research due to its practicality in real settings. Therefore, selecting an appropriate experimental design is crucial for producing valid and reliable research findings.

The research employs a qualitative method using a literature review and observation approach to collect data from various relevant sources. The findings indicate that the utilization of social media as part of digital marketing has a positive impact on increasing product sales. Social media enables business owners to reach a wider audience, disseminate product information more quickly, enhance customer interaction and trust, and conduct promotional activities at relatively low costs. Platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and various e-commerce marketplaces have proven effective in expanding market reach and increasing sales volume. Furthermore, digital features such as visual content, customer testimonials, and online promotions significantly influence consumers' purchasing intentions. However, several challenges remain, including intense market competition, changes in social media algorithms, limited resources, and insufficient skills in managing digital content. Therefore, optimizing social media utilization and improving digital competencies are essential factors in supporting marketing success and increasing business profitability.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary supplementation with ginger (Zingiber officinale) powder on the growth performance and carcass characteristics of Japanese quail at the Bamiyan province of Afghanistan. A total of 160 seven-day-old Japanese quails were randomly assigned to a completely randomized design consisting of five dietary treatments, with two replicates per treatment and 16 birds per replicate. The experimental diets included a control diet without ginger powder and four diets supplemented with ginger powder at levels of 0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%, and 0.8%. Feed and water were provided ad libitum throughout the experimental period. The results indicated that dietary supplementation with ginger powder had no significant effect (p > 0.05) on feed intake or final live body weight. However, significant effects (p < 0.05) were observed on body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, dressed carcass weight, breast yield, and thigh yield. These findings suggest that dietary supplementation with ginger powder can improve growth performance and carcass characteristics in Japanese quail.

Abstract

Waste pollution in urban drainage systems remains a common environmental problem in urban areas, including Jalan Rela in Medan City. This study aims to analyze waste pollution in drainage culverts from the perspectives of environmental ecology and Christian ethics. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that waste accumulation in drainage culverts is caused by low public awareness, inadequate drainage management, and limited concern for environmental cleanliness. These conditions disrupt water flow, cause flooding, create unpleasant odors, and increase environmental health risks. From an environmental ecology perspective, waste pollution reflects an imbalance in the ecosystem caused by human activities that exceed the environmental carrying capacity. Meanwhile, from the perspective of Christian ethics, littering contradicts humanity’s responsibility as stewards of God’s creation, as stated in Genesis 2:15. This study concludes that environmental problems require integrated solutions through drainage improvement, environmental education, community participation, and the strengthening of moral and spiritual values in caring for the environment.

Abstract

The transformation of the Nigerian Prison Service into the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOs) through the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019 marked a significant shift in Nigeria's correctional philosophy from punishment to rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders. Central to achieving this objective is the effective classification of inmates, which enables correctional authorities to assess offenders according to their security risk, legal status, behavioural characteristics, health condition, age, gender, sentence length, and rehabilitation needs. Appropriate inmate classification promotes institutional security, protects vulnerable inmates, facilitates individualized treatment programmes, and enhances successful reintegration into society. However, despite the legal framework supporting classification, the Nigerian Correctional Service continues to face numerous challenges, including overcrowding, inadequate infrastructure, shortage of trained personnel, limited funding, poor inter-agency collaboration, and reliance on manual record-keeping systems. These challenges undermine effective classification and reduce the efficiency of correctional administration. This study examines the role of the Nigerian Correctional Service in inmate classification, analyses the challenges confronting its implementation, explores opportunities for improvement, and discusses the implications for correctional administration in Nigeria. The study adopts a qualitative research design based on documentary analysis of relevant legislation, policy documents, books, journal articles, and reports from national and international organizations. The findings reveal that effective inmate classification remains indispensable for strengthening institutional security, improving rehabilitation programmes, reducing recidivism, and promoting effective correctional administration. The study recommends increased government funding, modernization of correctional facilities, adoption of evidence-based risk assessment tools, and digitalization of inmate information systems, continuous staff capacity building, and stronger collaboration among criminal justice institutions to enhance inmate classification practices in Nigeria.
