Abstract

This research is motivated by the rise of unhealthy lifestyles among society today, such as consumerism. On the other hand, the minimalist lifestyle trend emerged as a response to consumer phenomena. In fact, the minimalist lifestyle trend has been taught by Islam through the concept of simple living. In Surah Al-Furqan verse 67, it is explained that Allah commands His servants to be fair in all matters and take the middle path. Regarding clothing, Allah commands us to dress in a way that covers our nakedness. Apart from that, we are allowed to wear nice clothes with the intention of worshiping Allah, so wearing nice clothes in the sense here is not to brag. On the other hand, Allah also emphasizes not to overdress. In line with this, a brand called Ansoris.id applies a minimalist lifestyle concept to its clothing products. The research method used to look at the social situation of Al-Qur'an livelihoods in Ansoris.id clothing products is a qualitative research method. The sample is the clothing brand manufacturer Ansoris.id. Data collection techniques use interviews. Abstract

This article focuses on one of the archipelago's tafsir books, namely tafsir al-Huda: Tafsir Qur'an Basa Jawi written by Bakri Syahid. A person who holds the rank of colonel and participates in the military and political world. Although his tafsir is not well known in the field of tafsir science, but this tafsir al-Huda has its own uniqueness among the interpretations of the archipelago in general. Tafsir al-Huda is heavily influenced by Bakri Syahid's military rank, academics and positions. Covering the background of interpretation, methods of interpretation, style of interpretation, flow of interpretation and references used in writing tafsir al-Huda. For the author of tafsir al-huda is a uniqueness in terms of the book of interpretation and the author who has a different background than the mufassir-mufassir in general. In terms of authorship, this tafsir also uses Javanese Latin which has its own uniqueness and specialty. Keywords:  Tafsir, Nusantara, al-Huda

Abstract

The Qur'an is the greatest mu'jizat owned by the Prophet Muhammad In addition, the Qur'an is one of the main sources of Islamic teachings in addition to the hadith. The study of the Qur'an has been carried out by many scholars since ancient times. They studied the Qur'an in accordance with the disciplines they mastered. The Qur'an which is a sea of knowledge will never run out of studies from various sides. One of the studies and at the same time proving the miracle of the Qur'an is the study of the opening words and closing words of each letter in the Qur'an. As it is known that the Qur'an which consists of 114 letters, apparently begins with various kinds of opening (fawatih al-suwar) and ends with various kinds of closing (khawatim al-suwar).

Abstract

The requirement of chastity in a married relationship becomes an important point in the doctrine of Islam that is explained in the qur 'an. Among the scriptures that discuss this issue is surah al-baqarah verse 222. This text was intended to analyze ibn katsir's interpretation of the text. In its interpretation, ibn katsir describes the laws and conditions that pertain to chastity in married relationships, including sacred and unholy times for women, and how to cope with them in the context of daily life. An analysis of ibn katsir's interpretation gives insight into the traditional understanding of chastity in Islam, and provides a relevant view of coping with it in today's life. Abstract

Fasting is a form of worship known in various major world religions, such as Islam, Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism. In Islam, fasting is not only interpreted as refraining from eating, drinking and sexual relations, but also includes controlling negative speech, hearing, views and thoughts. QS. Al-Baqarah verse 183 emphasizes the obligation of fasting for Muslims as part of a universal tradition that is also known to followers of previous heavenly religions. This article aims to explore the fasting tradition in religions other than Islam and analyze the similarities, differences and continuity of religious values ​​from the perspective of the Koran. This research uses qualitative methods with a comparative study approach to the Al-Qur'an, analyzing the QS. Al-Baqarah: 183, tafsir, as well as other religious and cultural literature. The research results show that although there are differences in the form of fasting practice, the main goals are often similar, namely drawing closer to God, cleansing the soul, and strengthening social solidarity. Abstract

The tradition of Qur’anic exegesis in Islam has long been dominated by Sunni approaches, often marginalizing interpretations from the Shi’a school. However, Shi’a tafsir possesses its own independent epistemological foundation, rooted in the spiritual authority of Ahl al-Bayt as the authentic interpreters of revelation. This study aims to explore the characteristics of exegetical schools within Shi’a tradition by highlighting their sources, methods, prominent figures, and the role of tafsir as a discourse of resistance against mainstream interpretive dominance. Employing a qualitative approach based on textual analysis and discourse study, this research focuses on classical tafsir within the Imami Shi’a school. The findings show that Shi’a exegesis has developed through narrative-tradition-based (bi al-ma’tsur), philosophical-esoteric (falsafi-isyari), and thematic (mawdu‘i) approaches, centering on concepts such as imamate, wilāyah, and divine justice (‘adl). Tafsir also functions as a tool for identity formation and critique of religious-political hegemony, particularly in contexts such as Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon. In conclusion, Shi’a tafsir is not merely an interpretive tradition but also a space of discursive resistance and theological-political expression. Exploring Shi’a exegesis is essential to foster inter-sectarian dialogue and enrich the inclusive landscape of Islamic scholarship. Abstract

The Qur’an contains around 32 verses that discuss the sea, ocean, coast, estuary, and various other aquatic elements. This fact is truly astonishing, considering that the holy book was revealed in a desert region far from the sea, and there are no records indicating that any revelation occurred in the middle of the ocean. One of the extraordinary phenomena revealed in the Qur’an is the meeting of two seas that do not mix with each other. Even before modern science discovered it, the Qur’an had already disclosed the existence of this phenomenon. Interestingly, the existence of these two distinct bodies of water was only identified in modern times, and to this day, the phenomenon continues. Research in modern physics and chemistry has confirmed the reality of this natural event as described in the Qur’an. These findings further affirm that the information contained in the Qur’an hundreds of years ago aligns with the results of contemporary scientific research. Abstract

This study thoroughly examines seven important components in Tafsir Bahr al-‘Ulum by Abu al-Laits al-Samarqandi, namely the mufassir’s biography, interpretation methods, style, structure, characteristics, sources of reference, and concrete examples of interpretation. This book is one of the classical tafsirs rich in scientific and linguistic approaches. The main objective of this research is to analyze the systematic structure, approach, and characteristics of this tafsir in explaining the verses of the Qur’an. This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, analyzing the primary source, Bahr al-‘Ulum, along with secondary references that discuss the author’s thoughts and interpretations. The findings show that this tafsir uses a tahlili method, meaning it explains the Qur’anic verses systematically and sequentially. Additionally, the tafsir has a scientific style with linguistic, qira’at (Qur’anic recitation), and some philosophical and medical aspects. However, one weakness identified is Abu al-Laits al-Samarqandi’s tendency to cite Isra’iliyyat narrations without strict selection. Nevertheless, Bahr al-‘Ulum remains an important tafsir in the Islamic scholarly tradition because of its deep analysis of verse meanings and its relevance to understanding Islamic law and spiritual values. Abstract

This research aims to discuss the meanings of science in Surah An-Nahl Verse 56 through the approach of scientific interpretation which with the letter can be related between the combination of Surah An-Nahl 56 to food security in the Pandeglang Carita area. The interpretation of science as a method rather than interpretation seeks a concept of how the Qur'an can adapt and can distribute its role to global and economic challenges as is the case in Pandeglang Carita. More than that, the interpretation of knowledge can be used as a source of role in studying and processing natural resources in this world. In the view of the Tafsir of science in Surah An-Nahl: 65 there is a correlation with the problems in Pandeglang Carita. The interpretation of knowledge in Surah An-Nahl can make the people of Pandeglang Carita improve the quality and general knowledge in managing resources in their area, especially in Pandeglang Carita in the sea area. Pandeglang Carita has many problems in knowing the benefits of marine resources and components. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal how differences in interpretive methodology influence the understanding of temptation, moral resistance, and divine intervention during Prophet Yusuf’s encounter with the wife of the ruler of Egypt. Using a qualitative-comparative method and data analysis, the study finds that Quraish Shihab’s interpretation centers on ethical awareness and human willpower. Meanwhile, Afifuddin Dimyathi places greater emphasis on the spiritual dimension and divine protection as essential elements of moral salvation. The findings indicate that Qur’anic interpretation is influenced not only by methodology but also by the epistemological background of the exegete. This study contributes to the broader discourse of thematic exegesis and Qur’anic hermeneutics, particularly in exploring the roles of morality and spirituality when facing life’s trials, as illustrated in the story of Prophet Yusuf and the wife of Egypt’s ruler.
