Abstract

In the field of leadership, traditional literature has largely focused on how followers are influenced by leaders or how they act as mediators between leadership and behaviors. However, leadership is a process of interaction, leadership research should shift this focus to emphasize the influence of followers on leaders. Therefore, this research examines how teacher technology adoption impacts principal digital leadership practices. A quantitative survey method was employed, collecting data from 382 university teachers in Changchun city, China, with Pearson correlation and multiple regression data analysis. The results revealed that there is a positive relationship between teacher technology adoption and principal digital leadership, as well as confirmed a statistically regression model from teacher technology adoption to principal digital leadership practice. The further analysis showed that communication dimension contributes most, while teaching dimension has a very weak effect on principal digital leadership practice. The study provides valuable contributions to both theory and practice, discusses the findings and implications in detail. The significance of the study derives from its ability to deepen our understanding of the reciprocal influence between digital leadership and technology adoption in higher education, offering insights for future research and practical applications in similar contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of pedagogical and professional competencies on improving the quality of education at SMA Negeri 1 Payaraman. The research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to teachers and analyzed using statistical methods to test the relationship between the variables. The findings indicate that both pedagogical and professional competencies have a significant and positive influence on the quality of education. Pedagogical competence, which encompasses the ability to design, implement, and evaluate learning processes, contributes to more effective teaching strategies. Meanwhile, professional competence, including mastery of subject matter and continuous professional development, supports academic excellence and student achievement. The results suggest that enhancing teachers' competencies in these areas is essential for improving educational quality. Therefore, educational stakeholders are encouraged to invest in continuous training and development programs for teachers.

Abstract

This research analyses the implementation of Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) at Algerian universities and its potential for encouraging undergraduate learners to academically acquire learning, enhancing self-regulated learning strategies, and enhancing interdisciplinarity collaboration. This research adopted the mixed-method approach and used a quantitative tool (the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ)) and obtained qualitative data through reflective journals, interviews, and classroom observation. Outcomes show that CBL greatly affects enhancing students' motivation and supporting self-directed actions such as goal-setting, time management, and metacognitive processing. Interdisciplinary cooperation was also determined to be supportive for student engagement and problem-solving capacity. Students and instructors predominantly reported positive opinions regarding CBL, highlighting the relevancy, authenticity, and cooperation aspects of CBL. These findings validate the four study hypotheses and endorse the pedagogical shift towards active, student-centered learning in Algerian universities. The research concludes with strategic suggestions to institutionalize CBL, reassess assessment practices, and encourage professional development in support of the faculty utilizing this new pedagogy.

To find out the principal's leadership of the driving teacher in implementing the independent curriculum at the SMA / SMK level education unit in the Selayar Islands Regency 3). To find out the challenges of the driving teacher with his leadership competence in implementing the independent curriculum in the SMA / SMK level education unit in the Selayar Islands district. This research is a qualitative study using a phenomenological approach. The research was conducted on SMA/SMK principals who came from motivating teachers in Selayar Islands Regency consisting of SMAN 5 Selayar, SMAN 6 Selayar, SMKN 7 Selayar. SMKN 8 Selayar and the informants were the principals. The data collection techniques are observation, interviews and questionnaires, documentation, and data validity. Data analysis techniques with data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification.   The results showed that 1). The driving teacher as a school principal has several roles, namely as a manager, motivator, innovator, collaborator and leader in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum 2). The Principal's leadership of the driving teacher in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at SMA / SMK is a leader who is able to drive learning, and ensure the implementation of IKM runs well 3). The challenges of the driving teacher in his leadership competence in implementing the independent curriculum are the lack of understanding of fellow teachers about IKM, the difficulty of fellow teachers making changes, and the understanding that the driving teacher has perfect abilities compared to other teachers.

Abstract

This study examines the correlation between reading interest and writing ability of STIKOM Yos Sudarso Purwokerto students as an effort to understand the relationship between two basic literacy skills in the context of higher education. Low interest in reading is often blamed as one of the causes of students' weak writing skills, which impacts their academic quality and critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the extent to which reading interest affects students' writing skills, as well as provide an initial mapping of literacy conditions in the campus environment. The method used is quantitative with a correlational approach. Data was collected through questionnaires to measure reading interest levels and writing tests to assess students' writing ability. The analysis was carried out by Pearson correlation statistical test. The results of the study showed a significant positive correlation between students' reading interest and writing ability. The higher the students' interest in reading, the better their writing skills, especially in terms of writing structure, vocabulary use, and logical argumentation. These findings reinforce the assumption that active reading habits can promote significant improvements in writing skills. Therefore, a learning strategy is needed that is able to foster a literacy culture among students.

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of interactive learning in traditional dance education on students’ critical thinking skills at the senior high school level. The background highlights the dominance of rote-based teaching in dance classes and the lack of reflective and analytical approaches that can foster students’ higher-order thinking. A quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design was employed, involving 72 tenth-grade students from several high schools in South Jakarta. The experimental group received interactive dance instruction integrating reflection, interpretation, and peer discussion, while the control group received conventional instruction. Data were collected through critical thinking tests, classroom observations, and student perception questionnaires. The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s critical thinking scores, with a posttest average of 88.2 and a gain score of 0.71 (high category), compared to the control group’s posttest average of 66.7 and gain score of 0.21 (low category). Paired t-test and independent t-test analyses confirmed statistically significant differences (p < 0.05) between the two groups. Observation and questionnaire data revealed that students in the interactive group exhibited higher engagement in critical thinking activities such as interpretation, evaluation, and reasoning. These findings confirm that interactive dance learning not only enhances aesthetic understanding but also promotes critical thinking, making it a valuable pedagogical approach for 21st-century education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of flashcard media in music learning, especially in helping students understand music theory and increase motivation to play music through a fun and interactive approach. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study identified, evaluated, and synthesized eight selected scientific articles published between 2015-2025. The selection process was based on PRISMA guidelines and Zawacki-Richter's SLR model, including the formulation of research questions, screening of articles based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and assessment of study quality. The results showed that the use of flashcards - both in manual and digital form - consistently contributed positively to the improvement of rhythmic ability, understanding of notation concepts, and affective engagement of learners from various levels. Flashcards proved effective in simplifying complex musical material into concrete visual representations, strengthening long-term memory through retrieval practice and spaced repetition techniques. Furthermore, the integration of flashcards in project-based pedagogical approaches (PjBL), character learning, as well as digital technologies such as apps and AR, shows great potential in enriching music learning experiences that are inclusive, collaborative and meaningful. Therefore, this study recommends the continued development of interactive technology-based flashcard media as a future music learning innovation.
