Abstract

This research is a descriptive study with a one group pretest posttest research design. The aim of this research is implementing a PhET simulation virtual laboratory integrated with a discovery learning model to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes on parabolic motion material. The research sample was 29 students of class XI MIA-1. Research data obtained through pretest and posttest were analysed descriptively based on KKM and Ngain score. The results of data analysis show that students' initial knowledge of parabolic motion material is still low with an average pretest score of 22.76. The results of the analysis of students' posttest on parabolic motion material showed that students had reached the KKM with an average posttest score of 77.24, and an average Ngain score of 0.7. Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of the PhET simulation virtual laboratory integrated with the discovery learning model can improve cognitive learning outcomes on parabolic motion material.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the increase in mastery of Energy material by implementing a guided inquiry model for class VIII students at SMP Negeri 60 Central Maluku. This type of research is descriptive quantitative, with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Research subjects are people who provide information regarding the data that researchers want related to the research data being carried out. The subjects in this research were 12 students in class VIII. The data in this research was collected through test instruments in the form of initial tests and final tests and non-test instruments in the form of student worksheets (LKPD). The results of this research show that in the initial test, 12 (100%) students were in the failed qualification with an average achievement score of 13.8. The results of data analysis during the learning process show that the average achievement score for students' cognitive abilities is 90 with very good qualifications. The final test results showed that as many as 8 (66.7%) students were in very good qualifications, as many as 3 (25%) students were in good qualifications and as many as 1 (8.3%) students were in sufficient qualifications, with The average achievement score of students on the final test after the learning process is 87.62 with very good qualifications. For the N-Gain test results, the average student achievement score was 0.86 with high qualifications. Thus, it can be concluded that applying the guided inquiry model can increase mastery of energy material in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 60 Central Maluku.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of load mass on the damping coefficient of liquid substances such as water, cooking oil, and oil. The load masses used are 71 grams, 81 grams, 91 grams, and 101 grams. This study employs an experimental method with a damped oscillation analysis approach aided by Origin software. The research results indicate a significant influence of load mass on the frequency (Hz) and damping coefficient (γ) values of the liquid substance, where the larger the load mass, the higher the frequency (Hz) and damping coefficient (γ) values of the liquid substance. The study also examines the damping constants of each liquid substance. The results show that the damping constants of each liquid substance, namely water, cooking oil, and oil, are respectively 0.049 kg/s, 0.107 kg/s, and 0.201 kg/s.

Abstract

Lurus Beraturan (GLB) practicum outside the laboratory. The trial was conducted in the form of a practicum carried out in elevators and on escalators using smartphones. To read the data from the smartphones, acceleration monitor software was used, where the measurement data is displayed graphically. Before trialing the practicum module, validation was carried out by two media experts with an average feasibility percentage of 96.25% and two material experts with an average feasibility percentage of 95.66%, both of which were declared valid. The module was then tested on 25 students from the Physics Education Study Program, class of 2022, to measure the students' understanding of the GLB concept. The research results show that students were able to understand the material and solve the given problems contained in the module. This is evident from the average initial practicum task score obtained by the students, which was 77.8 with a good category. Meanwhile, the average student score for the tasks after the practicum was 89.6, categorized as very good, and the average score for data analysis and graph interpretation was 81.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mastery of Physics, specifically on the topic of Elasticity and Hooke's Law, through the use of modules within a Cooperative Learning Model. This is in response to the low curiosity and academic achievement of XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 11 Maluku Tenggara. The study is categorized as a quantitative descriptive research. To assess the extent of students' mastery, this study employs a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, consisting of a single group distributed within one class, totaling 16 students. In its implementation, both test and non-test techniques were used to collect data. For the test technique, a set of test questions was used, including a pretest and a posttest, while for the non-test technique, a Student Worksheet (LKPD) was utilized. The data collected was then processed descriptively, referencing the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). To determine the extent of improvement in students' mastery through the use of Physics Modules within the Cooperative Learning Model, the N-Gain test was conducted. The results of the study indicate a significant improvement in mastery, both during the initial test, the intervention, and the final test. Based on the N-Gain test, there was an increase in students' mastery of the topic of Elasticity and Hooke's Law through the use of modules within the Cooperative Learning Model, with an average N-Gain score of 0.8, categorized as high.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the problem-solving learning model integrated with context-based Learner Worksheet (LKPD) in improving the mastery of vibration and wave concepts in students of class VIII-2 SMP Negeri 7 Maluku Tengah. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 29 students as samples selected randomly (random sampling). The LKPD used was developed based on a contextual approach that links physical material with real phenomena in the surrounding environment, such as traditional musical instruments and ocean waves. The data collection instruments consisted of an initial test, a final test, and a student engagement observation sheet. The results showed a significant increase in concept mastery, marked by an increase in the average score from 35.33 in the initial test to 78.31 in the final test, with an N-gain value of 0.50 (medium category). In addition to cognitive improvement, students also showed a better ability to solve problems independently through the problem-solving stages. These findings indicate that the integration of the problem-solving model with context-based LKPD is an effective learning innovation to improve learning outcomes and active involvement of students in science learning.
