Abstract

Cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) are known to have high toxic effects and have been found polluting marine environment. Regular monitor the concentration of heavy metals in marine waters is necessary by combining chemical and biological analysis.  This research was conducted to analyze the levels of heavy metals in sediment, water column, cardinal fish Apogon beauforti, and to measure the concentration of MTF-1 protein in A. beauforti. This research was conducted at four sampling stations at Ambon bay for 2 years. The levels of Cd and Pb metals were analyzed using AAS instruments (Atomic Absorbsion Spectrophotometer), while the concentration of MTF-1 protein in the body of A. beauforti was analyzed using indirect ELISA. The results showed that the seasonal and spatial distribution of heavy metals Cd and Pb at Ambon bay did not show any variation. The results of the ANOVA proved that the concentrations of heavy metals Cd and Pb in the four research stations were not significantly different in the year 2013 and in the year 2014 in the samples of sediment, the water column, and the body of A. beauforti. In addition, it was revealed that the concentration of MTF-1 protein of A. beauforti in 2014 was higher than that in 2013, with an average of the concentration of MTF-1 protein of A.beauforti was higher at station 2, which was at Ferry Galala Harbor. Keywords: distribution, spatial, seasonal, cadmium, lead, MTF-1, Apogon beauforti

Abstract

Contamination of mercury (Hg) in the sea is one of global issues, including the waters of bay inside the Ambon Island. This research was conducted to monitor heavy metal pollution (Hg) in Ambon bay using Apogon beauforti. This study was conducted by using exploratory survey on physical-chemical environmental factors (temperature, salinity, pH, DO). Hg levels in water, sediments, and A. beuforti were measured, as well as the differences in the morphology of the gills of fish. The sampling technique used in this research was a purposive sampling technique. The environmental factor data were collected in-situ during east and the west season in year 2013 and 2014. The levels of mercury were measured by Atomic  Absorbsion Spectrophotometer (AAS). Data were analysed by descriptive statistics. The results showed increasing temperature, salinity and pH within one year (2013-2014) at four different stations. There was a decrease in the levels of Hg concentration in sea water, sediments and A. beauforti at four stations, even though it still remained above the Threshold Limit Value (TLV). The gills of A. beauforti showed dark red, pale and blackish colors indicating the accumulation of heavy metals Hg. Abstract

Magnetic properties of sediments from two different environmental settings in Indonesia have been studied using rock magnetic methods and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In the first setting, magnetic measurements were conducted on core sediments from two maar lakes in East Java (Lakes Lading and Bedali) that represent very confined environments where sediments are derived mainly from rocks and soils within the craters. In the second setting, similar measurements were obtained on core sediment from Lake Matano, a cryptodepression lake in tectonically active South Sulawesi where the area around the lake is dominated by highly magnetic lateritic soils. The results show that the predominant magnetic mineralogy in sediments from Lakes Lading, Bedali, as well as Matano is pseudo-single domain (PSD) magnetite (Fe3O4). Compared to that of Lake Matano, the maar lake sediments of Lakes Lading and Bedali have higher magnetic susceptibility as well as high intensity of ARM and SIRM. Variations in magnetic susceptibility in all core sediments are controlled mainly by the concentration of magnetic minerals. The homogeneity of magnetic minerals in these three lakes sediment provides an excellent setting for interpreting paleoclimatic signals as they will be recorded as anomalies of magnetic susceptibility.

Abstract

Heavy metals content as well as magnetic and electrical properties of leachate from Sarimukti, West Java were studied in an attempt to seek correlation between heavy metals content and magnetic/electrical properties. Such correlation is expected to open the way for the use of magnetic/electrical properties as proxy indicators for the concentration of heavy metals in the leachate. The number of leachate samples studied is 21; 15 were taken spatially at depth of 1 m while the remaining 6 samples were taken vertically at a particular point. Measurement results showed that the heavy metals content in the leachate has a smaller concentration, except for Fe. The correlation between magnetic susceptibility and heavy metals content was found to be not so significant. The best correlation coefficient between magnetic susceptibility with heavy metals in leachate was found in Zn. Correlation between electrical conductivity and heavy metal is also not so significant, except for Zn and Cd. The use of magnetic properties as proxy indicator for heavy metals content in leachate is plausible provided that the magnetic susceptibility exceeds certain threshold value. Correlation between magnetic susceptibility, electrical conductivity and heavy metal content would be good if each quantity has a large value.

Abstract

The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Salahutu. The purpose of this study is to develop a science learning tool using the Problem Based Learning learning model, through lesson study. The research design uses the 4 D Research and Development research method (Define Phase, design, develop, Disseminate). The application of products in the form of PBL-based integrated science-oriented learning modules through LS results in the following findings: 1). The Global warming theme module is based on curriculum analysis, student and teacher needs and field observations; 2). The Global warming theme module is able to get students actively involved in the learning process. 3). PBL-based Global warming theme modules through Lesson Study train students' creativity; 4). The teacher's knowledge about the systematic writing of the modules is still lacking so that the writer at the time of dissemination gave a presentation on the systematic module. The results of this study found that 1). Development of Integrated Science Learning Using Models of Problem Based Learning through Lesson Study can improve the student learning outcomes; 2). Development of Integrated Science Learning based on Problem Base Learning through Lesson study using the Global warming theme module is based on curriculum analysis, student and teacher needs and field observations. This module is able to make students actively involved directly in the learning process and train students' creativity

Abstract

The applicability of environmental magnetism methods based on the study of magnetic susceptibility (χ) have been successfully used over several decades to characterize and quantify the degree of anthropogenic pollution of different environmental systems. Moreover, in recent years, there have been a number of studies linking low frequency magnetic susceptibility (χLF) and heavy metal content in different kinds of material. Furthermore, the χLF technique can be used as a potential method to discriminate polluted and unpolluted samples. The plots of χLF versus frequency-dependent magnetic susceptibility (χFD) have been shown to be effective as discriminating tool for sources of magnetic minerals. The polluted and unpolluted samples display disparate distribution patterns of χLF and χFD. Furthermore, the pollution area can be roughly inferred. We conclude that measurement of χLF and χFD can serve as a convenient and effective method for detection of polluted and unpolluted areas. This method is promising as an alternative to conventional chemical analysis. Keywords: environmental magnetism, pollution area, anthropogenic, heavy metals, magnetic susceptibility.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik kelas V di SD Negeri 89 Ambon pada materi panas dan perpindahannya dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran koperatif tipe STAD dalam pembelajaran daring menggunakan Microsoft Teams. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada tes awal terdapat 31 (88,6%) peserta didik pada kualifikasi gagal dan 4 (11,4%) peserta didik pada kualifikasi cukup dengan rata-rata pencapaian peserta didik pada tes awal yakni 48,00. Setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran koperatif tipe STAD diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran daring menggunakan Microsoft Teams, diperoleh rata-rata keseluruhan skor pencapaian peserta didik pada tes akhir sebesar 82,00. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan peserta didik telah memahami materi panas dan perpindahannya. Berdasarkan analisis peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif dengan menggunakan rata-rata gain ternormalisasi diperoleh bahwa rata-rata peningkatan sebesar 0,73 pada kualifikasi tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran koperatif tipe STAD dalam pembelajaran daring menggunakan Microsoft Teams dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada materi panas dan perpindahannya.

Abstract

Penerapan model pembelajaran team games tournament (TGT) berbantuan alat peraga sederhana digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada materi magnet dan sifat-sifatnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada peserta didik kelas VI SD Swasta 23 Leksula, Kabupaten Buru Selatan yang berjumlah 18 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa instrumen tes hasil belajar dan lembar observasi untuk siswa dan guru. Hasil tes awal menunjukan bahwa 100% kemampuan kognitif awal peserta didik pada kualifikasi gagal. Setelah penerapan model pembelajaran TGT berbantuan alat peraga sederhana, maka 100% peserta didik tuntas menguasai materi dan berada pada kualifikasi sangat baik. Berdasarkan rata-rata gain ternormalisasi 〈g〉, diperoleh bahwa peningkatan kemampuan kognitif peserta didik berada pada kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran TGT berbantuan alat peraga sederhana sangat baik diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran IPA khususnya materi magnet dan sifat-sifatnya.

Abstract

Pembelajaran fisika saat ini sudah mulai menggunakan ICT (Information and Communication Technology) sebagai media dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, baik di kelas atau laboratorium komputer. Beberapa media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan guru adalah media pembelajaran berbasis komputer yang dapat memvisualkan gejala-gejala dan interaksi fisis yang terjadi dalam dikehidupan nyata ke dunia virtual yang ditampilkan secara menarik dengan animasi yang menyenangkan. Media-media ini disebut laboratorium virtual. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan untuk dengan tujuan untuk melatih guru-guru Fisika di Kecamatan Salahutu dan Leihitu Barat Kabupaten Maluku Tengah untuk merencanakan dan mengimplementasikan pembelajaran fisika menggunakan Laboratorium virtual. Pelaksanaan kegiatan di bagi atas 3 bagian yaitu Tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan dan rencana tindak lanjut. kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat berjalan dengan baik dan memberikan dampak yang positif bagi seluruh peserta. Peserta merasakan manfaat dari kegiatan ini, sehingga setelah kegiatan selesai dilaksanakan peserta dapat melanjutkannya di kelasnya sendiri tanpa pendampingan. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pencapaian hasil belajar pada ranah kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor, serta pencapaian nilai akhir siswa pada materi listrik statis dan dinamis pada siswa kelas IV Negeri 4 Waelata. Tipe penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Intrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket siswa dan guru, pedoman wawancara siswa dan guru, dokumentasi yang berkaitan dengan kegiatan penelitian seperti data hasil penilaian dan lembaran jawaban pada ranah kognitif, ranah afektif dan ranah psikomotor serta data kegiatan proses belajar mengajar di dalam kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hasil belajar ranah kognitif siswa berada pada kualifikasi cukup dengan rata-rata skor pencapaian 72,73, ranah afektif siswa berada pada kualifikasi baik dengan rata-rata skor pencapaian 79,68, ranah psikomotor siswa berada pada kualifikasi baik dengan rata-rata skor pencapaian 78,56, sedangkan nilai akhir siswa berada pada kualifikasi baik dengan rata-rata skor pencapaian 77,55. Dengan demikian diperoleh bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang didapat dari ranah kognitif, afektif dan psikomotor berada pada kategori baik khususnya pada materi listrik statis dan dinamis di kelas IV SD Negeri 4 Waelata.
