Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) differences in mathematical communication ability between students who are given cooperative learning model with Think-Talk-Write type and direct learning model, (2) describing the level of students' active activities during the Think-Talk-Write type cooperative learning process, (3) describing the process of completion of students’ answers on Think-Talk-Write type cooperative learning and the students who are given the direct learning. This research is semi experimental research. The population in this study is all students of seventh grade SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Medan consisting of 180 students which there are six parallel classes. The sample is chosen by using cluster random sampling consists of 60 people, 30 students of VII A class for Think-Talk-Write type cooperative learning model and 30 students of VII B class for direct learning model. Instruments used communication skill tests and students’ observation sheets. Data analysis used covariance analysis (ANACOVA). The result of this research shows that (1) there is difference of mathematical communication ability between the students who are given Think-Talk-Write type cooperative learning model and direct learning model. It can be seen from the result ANACOVA for Fcount = 43,72 > Ftabel = 4,21. The regression equation constant for the model between the students who were given the Think-Talk-Write type cooperative learning model, that is 9,89 is bigger than the direct learning model, that is 2,27, (2) the students' active activity level has met the ideal percentage time set, (3) the process of completion of students’ answers that learning by using the Think-Talk-Write type cooperative learning model better than the direct learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the magnitude of verbal bullying at SD Negeri 104206, determine the magnitude of Interpersonal Intelligence at SD Negeri 104206 and the relationship between verbal bullying and interpersonal intelligence of students at SD Negeri 104206 Sei Rotan. This research is a correlational descriptive research. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 104206 Sei Rotan for the 2017/2018 academic year with a population of 188 people and a sample of 128 people. The instrument used was a closed questionnaire for each variable with a Linkert scale. The data analysis tests used are normality, linearity, product moment correlation test and hypothesis significance test. The results of the research show that the level of verbal bullying at SD Negeri 104206 is in the sufficient category, the level of interpersonal intelligence at SD Negeri 104206 is in the sufficient category and there is a positive relationship between verbal bullying and students' interpersonal intelligence. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that the higher the verbal bullying, the higher the student's interpersonal intelligence.

Abstract

This study aims to examine students' mathematical self-efficacy reviewed under gender. This research uses descriptive design. Data obtained from the spread of scale of self-efficacy to students of mathematics education courses at Malikussaleh University as many as 38 people, 8 men and 30 women. The scale of self-efficacy online is spread on April 2018 in a two-week period. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis technique using normal curve approach. The results showed that the mean of male mathematical self-efficacy was 64 and the mean of female mathematical self-efficacy was 59,83. Mathematical self-efficacy of male and female students is in the medium and high category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ learning outcomes through the use of mind mapping model on the local Civics in fifth grade SD Negeri 101736 Medan Krio academic year 2017/2018. This type of this study is a classroom action research (PTK). The tools used in collecting the data are tests and observations that done during the learning process takes place. This study was conducted with two cycles. The results of this study show that the use of mind mapping model in the first cycle, are the students who got the score below the minimum completeness as many as 17 students (42,5%) and the students who got the score above the completeness as many as 23 students (57,5% ) with an average value of 71,00. On the second cycle, there is a very drastic increase that all students (40 students) have completed in obtaining the desired learning outcomes and no more students are not complete. The average value obtained is 91,63. Thus it can be concluded that the use of mind mapping model can improve students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the better effect between students’ science learning outcomes that taught by numbered heads together (NHT) and direct instruction model, (2) a better effect between students’ science learning outcomes who have high teamwork skill and low teamwork skill, and (3) the interaction between learning model with teamwork skill in influencing learning outcomes. This research is quasi experimental. The sample in this research were selected by cluster random sampling of two classes. The instrument consists of tests of learning outcomes in the form of essay tests and pieces of observation tamwork skill observation. Data were analyzed using two way ANOVA. The results sho. The data were analyzed by using two-ways ANOVA. The result of this research showed that the students’ science learning outcomes by using numbered heads together model was different and showed a better results than direct instruction model, the students with the high teamwork skill showed better results than the students with the low teamwork skill, and there is an interaction between numbered heads together model and teamwork skill in influencing the students’ science learning outcomes.

Abstract

The aim of this study were to improve the students’ mathematics creative thinking ability by appliying mathematic problem-based learning model on three variables linear equation system subject in X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar. The type of this research was a classroom action research. The subject of this study was the students of X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar that amounts of 30 students. The object of this study was the students’ mathematics creative thinking ability by appliying problem based learning model. This research was done in two cycles. Based on data analysis, the first cycle provided that 13 students (43,33%) from 30 students already achieved the success criteria (≥70). After the second action, it obtained that 23 students (76.67%) from 30 students already achieved the success criteria. Occur a rising classical completeness percentage in amount of 33,34%. Based on the classical criteria, this percentage already fulfilled. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that has occurred a rising of mathematics creative thinking ability in X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 3 Pematangsiantar so the applying of the problem-based learning could be used as one of the learning alternative to increase the mathematics creaitve thinking ability.

Abstract

Human was not given any potential ability in the first time of their existence, but they had consciousness to develop all their potential inside that be a competent and skilled human. The ability that thay had is created by adapting their educational environment. In the curriculum of 2013, teachers are given freedom to facilitate the development of every learner’s ability, including learner’s language ability. This study aims to developing the Indonesian language ability on fifth grade students through behavoristic and cognitive learning. The type of this study is quasi experiments by giving pre-test and post-test. This research was done on fifth grade students on 2017-2018 academic years at a state elementary school, Patean II Sumenep. The data collection methods were in the form of observation, interview, test, and questionnaire. The data was analyzed by simple quantitative description based on the average score of pre-test and post-test. The behaviourism and cognitive lesson significantly affect to the development of students’ language acquisition. During the treatement, the students were experiencing an increase on each indicator. The highest score occurred on the students’ intonation spoken emphasis and the students’ spoken understanding. The students’ intonation spoken emphasis increased by 1,35 of 4 scale. From the 2,1 first average score turns into 3,4, and the students’ spoken understanding competence increased by 1,29 of 4 scale, from the 2,2 first average score and post-test average score of 3,5. The result of this study shows that there is a difference on the students’ Indonesian speaking ability between before and after the treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the students’ learning outcomes by using examples non examples learning model on science subjects in class IV. The subjects of this research were all fourth graders of Private Primary School Advent Sumbul. The object of this research is the use of examples non examples model to improve the students’ learning outcomes on science subjects. Methods of data collection was through tests, observations, and documentation. Data analysis used comparative analysis. Based on the research shows that there is an increase of activity and learning outcome of IPA through example non examples model seen from the first cycle that is on the observation of teacher activity percentage 58,88% which enough category, 44,44% students’ activity, classical mastery 42,42% with average 70. The results of the second cycle is teacher activity of 67,70%, 73,33 students’ activity, 90,1% classical completeness. Based on the data analysis of the classroom students’ learning result increased by 15,46%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the role of principal of private junior high school in Rantauprapat Local Government in implementing School Based Management either school infrastructure, student, energy, finance, curriculum and school partnership with local community. Methods in this study by used descriptive qualitative research using percentage technique. The instrument of this study used interviews, questionnaire and documentation. The results of this study showed that the percentage results are evident from the results of questionnaires obtained very good as much as 2 respondents where the value is 91-100%. Meanwhile the good rating is 1 respondent where the value is 81-90%. Good enough as many as 14 respondents where the value is from 71-80%. And the selection of Option less good as much as 1 respondent where the value is 61-70%. the conclusion that the percentage from the school principal's role in implementing school-based management at Private Junior High School is good enough overall.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine: the effect of problem-based learning to improve the attitude of self-efficacy between students who were given with students and who were given direct learning. The type of this research is a quasi-experimental research by taking samples from the existing population. The variable of this research consist of independent variable that is problem based learning model while the dependent variable is self-efficacy attitude of student. This research was conducted at UMN Al-Washliyah Medan which is located at Jalan Garu II No. 52 Medan. This research will be conducted in the odd semester of the academic year 2017/2018. The population in this study is all students Mathematics Education Program of FKIP UMN Al-Washliyah Medan and the sample in this study are students of mathematics education program in the third semester by taking two classes that are III A and III B at random (experimental class and control class). Technique of collecting data in this research by using questionnaire. Questionnaire used is the scale of attitude self-efficacy (pretest and posttest). Data that have been collected then analyzed and performed hypothesis testing by using regression test. Based on the results of the analysis is obtained: there are effects of problem-based learning to improve student self-efficacy attitude. Therefore, it is suggested that problem-based learning be used as an alternative for lecturers to improve student self-efficacy attitude.
