Abstract

The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into education has introduced significant transformations in how teaching, learning, and assessment processes are conducted. AI offers various benefits, including personalized learning paths, intelligent tutoring systems, and administrative efficiency. However, its implementation also presents a range of critical challenges that must be addressed to ensure its effective and ethical use in educational settings. One major concern is data privacy and the ethical handling of student information, especially as AI systems rely heavily on data collection and analysis. Additionally, algorithmic bias can lead to unfair treatment or reinforce existing educational inequalities if not properly managed. The lack of digital infrastructure and technological literacy in some regions may widen the digital divide, limiting access to AI-enhanced education for marginalized communities. Furthermore, over-reliance on AI tools could reduce meaningful human interaction and the role of educators in shaping character, values, and social-emotional learning. The rapid evolution of AI technologies also demands continuous updates in teacher training and curriculum design. Addressing these challenges requires collaboration between educators, technologists, and policymakers to develop clear ethical guidelines, promote equitable access, and ensure that AI serves as a supportive tool rather than a replacement. Ultimately, the goal is to leverage AI to enhance, not hinder, the human-centered nature of education.

Abstract

The transformation of Islamic education is a response to the dynamics of the times that continue to develop, both in terms of social, technological, and globalization. Islamic education, which was initially oriented towards the formation of morals and mastery of religious knowledge, is now required to integrate spiritual values ​​with contemporary knowledge. This transformation process includes changes in curriculum, learning methods, and the use of technology in teaching and learning activities. Islamic education is no longer only focused on madrasahs and Islamic boarding schools, but also reaches more modern formal institutions that are accredited nationally and internationally. The challenge faced in this process is how to maintain Islamic values ​​so that they remain the main foundation, while accommodating the need for global competence. Therefore, the transformation of Islamic education must be carried out holistically and continuously, involving all elements: government, educational institutions, teachers, parents, and the community. Strengthening character, digital literacy, and 21st century skills are important parts of this reform. Thus, Islamic education is able to produce a generation of Muslims who are not only religious, but also capable, critical, and productive in global life. This transformation is a strategic step to make Islamic education relevant and highly competitive amidst changing times.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role and contributions of Syekh Musthofa Husein in Islamic education politics and its impact on the development of Islamic education in South Tapanuli. Syekh Musthofa Husein is known as a prominent Islamic scholar who was actively involved not only in religious matters but also in advancing Islamic education through social and political channels. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature review and in-depth interviews with key figures and educational institutions influenced by his efforts. The findings reveal that Syekh Musthofa Husein's political approach to Islamic education included the establishment of pesantren-based educational institutions, the strengthening of Islamic curriculum, and advocacy for education policies rooted in Islamic values. His influence is significant, as seen in the growth of Islamic educational institutions in South Tapanuli, increased community participation in religious education, and the emergence of a generation of Muslim intellectuals grounded in local traditions and Islamic teachings. This study highlights the crucial role of Islamic scholars in shaping contextual and sustainable Islamic education policies.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of family education management in supporting children's educational success, particularly in the Pasar Muara Sipongi Village, Muara Sipongi District, Mandailing Natal Regency. Many families in this area have not yet optimized the management of their children's education at home, as evidenced by the lack of parental involvement in their children's learning processes. The aim of this study is to analyze how the planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling of family education management occurs in this region. The method used is qualitative research, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation from six parents with children in elementary and junior high school. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that long-term educational planning has not yet become a primary priority for families; the organization of children's learning activities is poorly structured; the implementation of education remains passive and simplistic; and the control of learning activities is more reactive than preventive. Additionally, parental involvement in evaluating their children's educational processes is still minimal. In conclusion, family education management in this area needs to be improved to support the optimal development of children.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis etika dan strategi komunikasi pendidikan berbasis media sosial di Kota Padangsidimpuan dalam rangka meningkatkan efektivitas penyampaian informasi dan interaksi edukatif antara pendidik dan peserta didik. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada meningkatnya penggunaan media sosial sebagai sarana pembelajaran, namun masih ditemukan berbagai kendala terkait etika komunikasi, seperti penyampaian pesan yang kurang sopan, informasi tidak valid, serta kurangnya kontrol terhadap interaksi daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi pada guru, siswa, dan praktisi pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan media sosial dapat meningkatkan akses informasi dan keterlibatan peserta didik apabila didukung oleh penerapan etika komunikasi yang baik dan strategi yang tepat, seperti penggunaan bahasa yang santun, penyaringan informasi, pengelolaan waktu penggunaan media, serta pemanfaatan fitur interaktif secara optimal. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa keberhasilan komunikasi pendidikan berbasis media sosial dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan pendidik dalam memadukan etika komunikasi dengan strategi penyampaian pesan yang efektif dan kontekstual sesuai karakteristik pengguna di Kota Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas peranan malim kampung dalam pembinaan pendidikan keagamaan remaja di lingkungan masyarakat. Malim kampung, sebagai tokoh lokal yang memiliki legitimasi keilmuan dan kedekatan sosial dengan masyarakat, memegang peranan penting dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai keagamaan, membimbing perilaku, serta memperkuat akhlak remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan bentuk-bentuk peran alim kampung, metode pembinaan yang digunakan, serta dampaknya terhadap perkembangan religiusitas remaja. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa alim kampung berperan sebagai pembimbing spiritual, pendidik informal, dan teladan moral dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kehadiran mereka memberikan ruang pembelajaran agama yang lebih personal, kontekstual, dan berkesinambungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan aktif alim kampung mampu meningkatkan pemahaman keagamaan, membentuk karakter Islami, serta mendorong remaja untuk menjauh dari perilaku negatif. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa alim kampung merupakan aktor strategis dalam memperkuat pendidikan keagamaan di tingkat komunitas, terutama dalam menghadapi tantangan moral dan sosial pada generasi muda

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need to re-understand the goals of Islamic education from a philosophical perspective, particularly in the effort to develop complete human beings with holistic character. The main problem of this research is the lack of a comprehensive understanding of the goals of Islamic education from a philosophical perspective, especially in forming complete human beings who are balanced in spiritual, intellectual, and moral aspects. This research aims to re-explain how philosophy views the goals of Islamic education and how this concept can be applied to contemporary education. The method used is a literature study by reviewing the books and writings of classical and modern Islamic educational thinkers. Data were obtained from the thoughts of figures such as Al-Ghazali, Ibn Miskawayh, and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, supplemented by the latest educational literature. The results of this study indicate that the goal of Islamic education is essentially to shape good, knowledgeable, moral, and capable human beings who are able to live lives based on Islamic values. Education emphasizes not only knowledge, but also the development of the soul, character, and strengthening of faith. In conclusion, a philosophical perspective helps provide a more complete picture of the goals of Islamic education so that it can be used as a basis for developing education that is relevant to the needs of the times without abandoning religious values.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of integrating Islamic Religious Education (PAI) values into the teaching and learning process of Islamic da‘wah, particularly through material design and curriculum development capable of shaping students’ character, religious understanding, and da‘wah competencies holistically. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, curriculum document analysis, and data collection through interviews with PAI educators and da‘wah practitioners. The findings indicate that integrating PAI values into the design of learning materials and the Islamic da‘wah curriculum can be achieved through establishing value-based learning objectives, selecting materials relevant to contemporary needs, applying participatory learning strategies, and strengthening evaluation systems based on spiritual and social competencies. The study concludes that material and curriculum designs integrated with PAI values effectively enhance the quality of da‘wah learning, reinforce moral internalization, and encourage students to become knowledgeable, moderate, and well-characterized da‘i. This research recommends the development of an adaptive, contextual Islamic da‘wah curriculum oriented toward 21st-century competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of peer support and the overseas living environment on the learning motivation of students at UIN Syahada Padangsidempuan. The background of this research is the challenges faced by overseas students in adapting both academically and socially, which requires external support to maintain learning motivation. The research employed a quantitative method with data collected through questionnaires. The sample consisted of 120 overseas students selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results revealed that peer support has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation, and the overseas living environment also significantly affects students’ learning motivation. Simultaneously, both variables contribute significantly to improving the learning motivation of students at UIN Syahada Padangsidempuan. This research highlights the importance of social relationships and a supportive environment for overseas students in achieving academic success.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of student discipline and their compliance with school Tegulations at SD 200508 Sihitang Padang Sidempuan. The imposition of sanctions on students who violate the rules is one of the school’s efforts to motivate students to improve their discipline. The research employs a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through methodological triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of school regulations in improving student discipline at SD 200508 Sihitang has been carried out quite well. The supporting and inhibiting factors in this process include parental support, the consistency of rule enforcement at the school, and differences in student characteristics that influence their level of discipline. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kedisiplinan siswa serta kepatuhan mereka terhadap tata tertib sekolah di SD 200508 Sihitang Padang Sidempuan. Pemberian sanksi kepada siswa yang melanggar aturan merupakan salah satu upaya sekolah dalam memotivasi siswa agar meningkatkan kedisiplinan. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian field research. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tiga tahap, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data diperoleh melalui triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi tata tertib sekolah dalam meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di SD 200508 Sihitang telah berjalan dengan cukup baik. Faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam proses tersebut meliputi dukungan keluarga, konsistensi penerapan aturan di sekolah, serta perbedaan karakter siswa yang memengaruhi tingkat kedisiplinan mereka.
