Abstract

Consolidation is the process of merging two or more companies into a single entity to strengthen the business, reduce competition, increase market share, and drive company growth. Therefore, this study analyzes the impact of consolidation on company performance through key indicators, namely liquidity, equity-earnings-based metrics, and company profitability, using financial ratio analysis such as the Current Ratio (CR), Earnings Per Share (EPS), and Net Profit Margin (NPM). This study adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data from financial statements of PT Astra International Tbk for the period 2022-2024. The secondary data sources include journals and articles from websites. The results of this study indicate that the consolidation of PT Astra International Tbk from 2022 to 2024 has both positive and negative effects on the company's financial performance. Consolidation can initially boost revenue and profits, but its performance tends to fluctuate due to financial adjustments and additional operational costs.

Abstract

This study examines environmental economic policies in Indonesia through a literature review and analysis of national regulatory documents. The main focus is on mapping environmental economic instruments regulated under Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, Government Regulation No. 46 of 2017, PP 22/2021, the Presidential Regulation on Carbon Economic Value (NEK), and strategic planning documents such as RAN-GRK, LTS-LCCR, and RPJMN. The study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, using thematic content analysis to identify categories of economic instruments, including market-based instruments, funding mechanisms, risk-based licensing, and incentive–disincentive schemes. Findings indicate that Indonesia has established a relatively comprehensive regulatory framework; however, its effectiveness remains limited due to regulatory inconsistencies, institutional capacity constraints, inadequate environmental data, and weak monitoring mechanisms. The study recommends enhancing inter-agency coordination, standardizing environmental data, developing digital monitoring systems, and expanding the implementation of carbon taxes and payment-for-environmental-services schemes. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of more effective environmental economic policies, supporting Indonesia’s transition toward a low-carbon economy

Abstract

Tourism is a vital sector capable of driving economic transformation, particularly in developing regions such as Jember. However, previous studies have largely concentrated on the growth of the tourism industry without thoroughly examining how it empowers local communities or contributes to poverty reduction. This research addresses that gap, as non-inclusive tourism development often results in unequal distribution of benefits for nearby communities. The article aims to outline the key issues surrounding the limited participation and capacity of local residents in tourism activities, while also presenting empowerment strategies that can enhance their overall well-being. This study employs a qualitative method with a case study approach conducted in several tourist villages in Jember Regency. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, and document analysis, then processed using data reduction, thematic categorization, and in-depth interpretation. The findings reveal a collaborative empowerment model involving government actors, local communities, and industry stakeholders that effectively increases income levels and strengthens community self-reliance. The study concludes that inclusive tourism has the potential to act as a catalyst for economic transformation when community-based empowerment strategies are implemented consistently and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of a consumptive lifestyle on household economics in Indonesia. The rapid development of technology, social media, and digital shopping platforms has influenced people’s consumption patterns, shifting spending from primary needs to secondary and tertiary desires. Using a qualitative descriptive method with literature study, observation, and semi-structured interviews of households in urban and semi-urban areas, this research reveals that consumptive behavior significantly weakens household financial stability. Excessive spending on non-essential goods and services reduces the ability to meet primary needs such as education, health, and savings, while also increasing the risk of household debt and financial stress. On a macroeconomic level, excessive consumption of luxury and imported goods contributes to trade deficits and decreases domestic economic resilience. Furthermore, low financial literacy exacerbates this problem, as many households struggle to differentiate between needs and wants, leading to poor financial management. The findings highlight that households with higher financial literacy and education levels are better at balancing consumption and maintaining economic resilience. Therefore, improving financial literacy, strengthening social awareness, and developing government policies that encourage productive and sustainable consumption are essential to mitigate the negative impact of a consumptive lifestyle.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital banking services has led financial institutions to strengthen user interaction through user experience and gamification strategies. This study aims to analyze the effect of user experience and gamification on user engagement in the Livin by Mandiri application, with user satisfaction as a mediating variable. This quantitative study used primary data collected through online questionnaires distributed to 234 users in the Jakarta area. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS 4 software. The results show that both user experience and gamification significantly influence user satisfaction, while user satisfaction positively affects user engagement. However, user experience and gamification do not directly influence engagement. The study concludes that user satisfaction serves as a crucial mediating factor linking system design and motivational features to sustainable engagement in digital banking services.

Abstract

This research analyzes TikTok live streaming as a promotional medium for thrifting fashion businesses. The background addresses how interactive live streaming features enhance pre-owned apparel sales while presenting competitive and technical challenges alongside spontaneous consumer behavior. The study aims to examine TikTok live streaming utilization in thrifting business promotion, focusing on feature deployment, encountered challenges, and applied marketing strategies. The methodology employs qualitative descriptive case study design through semi-structured interviews with Windyy_Shop proprietors. Purposive sampling selected business operators and hosts demonstrating expertise in live streaming operations. Data collection instruments included in-depth interviews and operational observation. Thematic analysis employing Braun and Clarke's framework provided qualitative interpretation. Results demonstrate that live streaming reduces information asymmetries, facilitates real-time consumer engagement, and significantly accelerates purchasing decisions. Eight operational mechanisms emerged, including interactive product visualization, competency-based host selection, and algorithmic platform optimization. Findings reveal substantial sales conversion rate increases, elevated customer loyalty, and expanded brand awareness despite technical infrastructure constraints and competitive saturation. The research concludes that live streaming functions as a multidimensional promotional mechanism generating meaningful business performance enhancement through comprehensive psychological consumer engagement across emotional, social, and interactive dimensions.
