Abstract

The main cause of work accidents due to falls from heights was unsafe behavior. In the Jakarta LRT Project, there were still unsafe behaviors performed by workers at heights such as not use complete PPE, not hooking FBH (Full Body Harness) to lifelines or scaffolding, not follow safety procedures, and smoke while working at heights. This research aimed to describe the unsafe behavior and determinants in the workers at heights in the Jakarta LRT Project Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai Zone 2 in 2025. This research used quantitative methods with a cross-sectional design and was conducted from January to May 2025. The sample was workers at heights using random sampling techniques and obtained 73 respondents. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. The research results showed that 72 workers (98.6%) behaved unsafely with the highest percentage of unsafe behavior being 71% of workers had never reported work conditions and hazard and risk findings to supervisors. The description of determinants of unsafe behavior showed that most workers had poor knowledge, did not comply with safety procedures, had never received occupational health and safety training, had poor supervision, rarely received rewards, and rarely received punishment. HSE personnel need to educate workers about the dangers and safe working practices when working at heights and increase supervision to ensure compliance with safety procedures. Management needs to re-conduct training on working at heights and safe use of scaffolding for workers and increase the number of award recipients and strengthen the punishment for workers. Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a strategic initiative of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia that aims to improve the quality of the nation's Human Resources (HR) and support the realization of the 2045 Golden Generation through overcoming the complexity of the three burdens of nutritional problems. However, in its implementation, it faces a number of challenges, including reports of food safety incidents in beneficiaries. This literature review evaluates the program's impact, health risks, and alignment with public policy and nutritional standards. This study is a literature review using the keyword “MBG”, “Poisoning”, and “Halal Thayyib” through the Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus for the 2021–2025 period, 25 highly relevant scientific articles were analyzed. The results of this study were obtained as many as 25 scientific articles that are considered the most relevant in this study. The results of the study show that MBG has a positive impact on improving the nutritional status of students, increasing the level of concentration in the classroom, reducing student attendance rates in schools, empowering local catering MSMEs and absorbing the production of regional farmers. On the other hand, this study highlights the importance of strengthening the food safety monitoring system and program governance. This study recommends improving MBG policies through strict oversight of food safety standards, as well as improving transparent and accountable program governance.   Keywords:MBG, Poisoning, HalalThayyib

Abstract

Schools have various safety hazards due to their teaching and learning activities. These hazards can cause losses such as injuries, health problems, and damage to school property and the environment. This study aims to determine the effect of safety education on students' knowledge levels. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest was used for the research design. A total of 32 respondents, including student representatives, Junior Doctors, and Scouts from SD X in Mekarjaya, Kota Depok, West Java, participated in the study. The study was conducted in October 2024. Safety education was delivered through lectures, posters, and PowerPoint presentations. Knowledge improvement was measured by distributing questionnaires about safety hazards and risks at school before and after the educational program. The analysis was conducted using a t-test. The results showed that the average score was 50.84 before the educational program and increased to 89.22 after. These results indicate a significant improvement in knowledge of safety hazards at school (p-value = 0.000). It is recommended that SDN Mekarjaya 11 Depok's management conduct regular health and safety education activities involving all stakeholders, including parents and the local education office, to optimize the development of a safety culture at the school.   Keywords : Safety Hazard, Safety at School, Safety Promotion

Abstract

The phenomenon of smartphone use among children has drawn attention to toddler development. This stage, which spans from 12 to 59 months, is often referred to as the "golden age" for human development. During this period, children are particularly receptive to various forms of growth, including intelligence, aptitude, physical abilities, cognitive skills, language development, social-emotional skills, and spiritual capacities. This study aims to determine the relationship between smartphone use and language development in toddlers in the working area of Karang Tengah Community Health Center, Tangerang City. This research was a quantitative study using a cross-sectional design. The study's population comprised 105 toddlers selected using a non-probability purposive sampling technique. Data analysis included univariate analysis and bivariate analysis, using the Fisher’s Exact Test. The findings reveal a p-value of 1.000 (α < 0.05), suggesting that there is no significant relationship between the level of smartphone use and language development in toddlers in the working area of Karang Tengah Community Health Center. There is no significant relationship between smartphone use and language development in toddler. For future studies, it is essential to conduct a more in-depth exploration of parenting dynamics, parental communication patterns, and the socio-economic context of families. Abstract

Adolescents with HIV/AIDS face elevated mental health risks from stigma, discrimination, and social pressure, yet effective strategies to strengthen their coping remain underdeveloped. This systematic review explored coping strategies used by HIV-positive adolescents to manage depression, stress, and anxiety, aiming to identify the most adaptive and effective approaches. A total of 360 articles were retrieved from PubMed and screened using Rayyan AI, followed by targeted keyword searches and manual selection based on inclusion criteria (English-language studies on coping with stress, depression, or anxiety among HIV-positive adolescents) and exclusion criteria (studies unrelated to HIV/AIDS, adolescents, or coping, and literature reviews). This yielded18 relevant studies from the USA, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Botswana, and China, which underwent qualitative analysis. Finding shows that the most adaptive personal coping strategies include self-acceptance, positive thinking, emotional expression, physical activity, and spiritual practices such as prayer and self-reflection. Spiritual coping, especially prayer and faith-based reflection, emerged as a key component of emotion-focused coping, helping adolescents find meaning, reduce rumination, and achieve inner peace despite HIV-related stressors. Overall, adaptive personal coping strategies play a crucial role in alleviating depression, stress, and anxiety among this population. These findings highlight the importance of integrating psychosocial support—including spiritual and emotion-focused approaches—into responsive, evidence-based healthcare services for adolescents with HIV/AIDS. Policymakers and healthcare providers should prioritize such integration to better support the mental health and overall wellbeing of this vulnerable group. Abstract

Keywords: college students, dental hygiene, staying up late, the concept of thaharah

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly hypertension and dyslipidemia, are a growing global health problem for workers. Port workers have specific risk factors, such as irregular physical activity patterns and high-fat consumption, which can affect blood pressure and cholesterol levels. This study aims to determine differences in cholesterol levels between hypertensive and non-hypertensive port workers in the Tanjungpinang Port work area in 2025. This study used a cross-sectional design using secondary data from NCD screening conducted by the Tanjungpinang Class I Health Quarantine Center in 2025. The dependent variable was cholesterol level, while the independent variables included hypertension status, age, gender, and body mass index (BMI). The study sample consisted of all screening participants with complete data; workers with incomplete data were excluded. Data analysis used the Mann–Whitney U test due to non-normal distribution of the data. A total of 612 workers participated in NCD screening, with a hypertension prevalence of 32.84% of the 612 workers, 32.84% had hypertension and 54.08% had high cholesterol levels. Most participants were male (63.2%) and overweight (67.8%). Mann–Whitney U test showed no significant difference in cholesterol levels between hypertensive and non-hypertensive workers (p=0.941). Significant differences in cholesterol levels were observed by sex (p<0.001) and age group (p=0.001). There was no significant difference in cholesterol levels between hypertensive and non-hypertensive port workers. Age and sex were more strongly associated with cholesterol levels and should be considered in cardiovascular risk screening programs.  Keyword: Hypertension, cholesterol levels, non-communicable disease screening, port health services

Abstract

Maternal anemia remains an important public health problem in Indonesia despite national iron-folic acidsupplementation and antenatal care programs. Updated national evidence is needed to identify groups requiring more targeted prevention. This study examined factors associated with anemia among pregnant women in Indonesia using the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey. This was a cross-sectional analysis of secondary data from SKI 2023. The analysis included pregnant women with hemoglobin measurement and complete covariate information. The weighted analytical population represented 121,339 pregnant women; the exact unweighted analytic sample should be reported from the final cleaned dataset. Anemia was defined as hemoglobin <11 g/dL. Survey weights, strata, and primary sampling units/clusters were incorporated in the analysis. Weighted descriptive statistics, design-adjusted Rao-Scott chi-square tests, and survey-weighted multivariable logistic regression were used. Adjusted odds ratios (AORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were reported. The weighted prevalence of anemia was 28.2%. In the adjusted model, anemia was associated with age at risk (<20 or >35 years) (AOR=1.69; CI: 1.63-1.74), being unemployed (AOR=2.46; CI: 2.38-2.55), irregular ANC visits (AOR=1.41; CI: 1.36-1.47), chronic energy deficiency (AOR=1.28; CI: 1.24-1.33), and non-adherence to iron folic acid supplementation (AOR=1.44; CI: 1.40-1.48). Low maternal education (AOR=0.82; CI: 0.80-0.84) and incomplete ANC quality (AOR=0.34; CI: 0.32-0.36) showed inverse associations that require cautious interpretation because they may reflect coding/reference-category issues, detection bias, gestational-age-related measurement, or residual confounding. Strengthening design-based monitoring, targeted ANC counseling, and community-supported adherence strategies may help reduce anemia among pregnant women, particularly among economically vulnerable groups. Abstract

Background: Low Birth Weight (LBW), defined as infants weighing <2,500 grams, is a major indicator of maternal and infant health. Globally, LBW prevalence remains high at 14.7% (≈19.8 million births in 2020) with a slow annual decline of 0.3%. In Indonesia, LBW accounts for 39.2% of neonatal deaths, with a prevalence of 6.1% (IHS 2023), still above the RPJMN 2020–2024 target of 4%. Objective: To identify determinants of LBW in Indonesia using the 2023 Indonesia Health Survey (IHS) data. Method: A cross-sectional study using secondary IHS 2023 data was conducted. The dependent variable was LBW, while independent variables followed the WHO (2004) framework: infant factors (sex, prematurity, multiple birth), maternal factors (age, education, occupation, smoking, ANC visits, anemia, hypertension, height), and environmental factors (residence type, socioeconomic status). Analyses included descriptive statistics, chi square, and binary logistic regression. Results: Significant determinants of LBW included maternal age at delivery (AOR=1.262; p=0.009), maternal height (AOR=1.661; p=0.000), hypertension status (AOR=2.503; p=0.000), preterm birth (AOR=7.822; p=0.000), infant sex (AOR=1.376; p=0.000), and birth type (AOR=14.805; p=0.000). Birth type was identified as the strongest predictor of LBW among all determinants. Conclusion: LBW in Indonesia is multifactorial. Preventive strategies should emphasize adolescent nutrition, quality antenatal care, and monitoring of high-risk pregnancies. Keywords: LBW, IHS, Multifactor, Nutrition, Determinants

Abstract

Background: Overweight and obesity remain major global public health challenges. Beyond energy imbalance, nutritional status is also influenced by psychological factors, particularly emotional eating and self-regulation. Religiosity has been recognized as a psychological resource that may strengthen emotion regulation and self- egulation; however, the mechanisms linking religiosity, self-regulation, emotional eating, and nutritional status have not been comprehensively synthesized. Objective: To synthesize scientific evidence on the relationships among religiosity, self-regulation, emotional eating, and nutritional status and to explain the conceptual mechanisms underlying these associations. Methods: A narrative literature review with narrative synthesis was conducted. Literature was searched in Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink. Of 186 identified articles, 17 met the inclusion criteria and were included in the final synthesis. Results: Emotional eating increases the risk of overweight and obesity by promoting the consumption of energy-dense foods in response to emotional distress. This process involves activation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis, elevated cortisol levels, stimulation of the reward pathway, and impaired appetite regulation. Self-regulation reduces the adverse effects of emotional eating by improving control over eating impulses. Religiosity further strengthens emotion regulation and self-regulation through the internalization of religious values and practices, thereby reducing the tendency toward emotional eating. Conclusion: This review proposes a conceptual model in which religiosity indirectly influences nutritional status by enhancing emotion regulation, self-regulation, and control of emotional eating. These findings contribute to a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to health promotion and obesity prevention.
