Abstract

Gastrointestinal nematodes are a type of parasitic worm that is found in the digestive tract of humans and animals and can live in all areas, including fresh water, sea and land with a supportive environment. This research was to look at the percentage of gastrointestinal nematode infestation in cattle in Bireuen Regency as a lowland area from various levels of age groups and gender. The research samples were feces from 120 cattle divided into 3 age groups (0-6 months, 7-12 months, >12 months) and 2 genders(female and male). The examination was carried out using the centrifuge method. Samples are declared positive if gastrointestinal nematode eggs are found and the percentage is calculated using the prevalence formula and looking at differences in infestation levels analyzed using the chi-square formula. The research results showed that in the age group 0-7 months it was 35%, 7-12 months it was 22.5% and >12 months it was 15%. Between age groups the presence of these worms showed significant differences (P<0.05). Meanwhile, based on gender, female cows have a higher infestation, namely 23.9% compared to 15.2% for male cattle and there is a significant difference (P<0.05).

Abstract

Reutilization of natural resources as a resource recovery effort is one aspect of sustainable development, one of which is the utilization of biomass waste. Biomass waste is waste from agricultural, plantation, livestock, and forestry processes that contain organic matter composed of carbon dioxide bonds, air, water, soil, and sunlight from plants and animals. Pollution by the accumulation or untreated biomasswaste will result in the potential formation of greenhouse gases (GHG). One of the efforts is to utilize biomass waste into activated carbon by carbonizing and activating the biomass waste. The indication of why biomass waste can be used as a material formaking activated carbon is because biomass waste contains lignocellulosic materials that have the ability to absorb metals and colors. The purpose of this paper is to see the potential of various kinds of biomass waste that can be utilized into activatedcarbon by conducting a journal review. The results of the review of various journals show that various kinds of biomass waste can be utilized into activated carbon. The lignocellulosic content of biomass waste consists of lignin in the range of 8%-53.85%,cellulose in the range of 6.92%-81%, and hemicellulose 11%-41%

Abstract

This study aims to improve the efficiency of tofu production at Haji Ripit tofu factory through the application of Lean Manufacturing principles. The analysis was conducted using the Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method to identify and overcome time waste in the production process. The results showed the main problems, namely waste waiting and waste motion. Waste waiting was identified in the process of moving the stew to the filter, while waste motion was caused by the inefficient arrangement of the filter. To overcome the waste waiting, a modification was made to the boiling furnace by adding a hole for the output of the stew. This change successfully reduced the cycle time of the pouring process from 2000 seconds to 400 seconds, with a cycle time difference of 1600 seconds. In addition, to address waste motion, a re-layout was proposed by unifying the workbenches in the molding, cutting, and packaging processes. The results of the re-layout proved the reduction of movement time from molding to cutting process from 10 seconds to none. This research makes an important contribution in the context of improving efficiency and productivity in tofu factories, and the results can serve as a reference for similar industries in improving their operational performance through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing.

Abstract

The increase in population in Cianjur Regency has begun to be significant. Inadequate urban sanitation systems make people dispose of their domestic waste carelessly into the nearest river or water body resulting in environmental pollution. One way to reduce these problems is to build an adequate domestic wastewater distribution system. The planning of a domestic wastewater distribution system in an area must be accompanied by the selection of the best location to increase the effectiveness of environmentalpollution prevention. Priority service areas are selected based on 5 available criteria, namely: Population density, Topography, Clean water distribution network, Sanitation condition, and Slum area. The method of determining priority areas used is the scoring and weighting method. The results obtained are 3 priority zones so that it can be determined which sub-district is the planning area, namely Cianjur District

Abstract

CV. Hagia Mitra Mandiriis a company that distributes black queen bee honey products. Problems faced by CV. Hagia Mitra Mandiri in the distribution of its products, namely that the company has not yet planned product delivery routes to various customers of bitter black queen beehoney in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi and Karawang areas. As a result, product delivery routes often exceed customer working hours, which can make delivery schedules less than optimal in terms of distance, travel time and delivery costs. This research aims to design the route that each vehicle must take according to the user's working hours, with the aim of optimizing the total travel distance. The method used is the sequential insertion algorithm method to solve the Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows problem model. The sequential insertion method is used to plan proposed distribution routes by considering travel distance, travel time and transportation costs. The research results show that there are differences in the proposed route from the initial route. The proposed route resulting from the calculation of the sequential insertion algorithm method produces the best distance, namely 307 km with a savings ratio of 18.13%, a comparison of total transportation cost savings of Rp. 58,758 and the difference in fuel usage is 7.55 liters. The total travel time is 667 minutes and the total travel time ratio is 9.01%.
