Journal of Social Work and Science Education
The Journal of Social Work and Science Education (JSWSE) is firmly established as an authoritative voice in the world of social work and science education with E-ISSN: 2723-6919 and P-ISSN 2746-0827. JSWSE publishes scholarly papers that focus on the social science, teaching and learning, science in school settings ranging from early childhood to university education. It bridges the gap between research and practice, providing information, ideas and opinion. As a truly international journal, JSWSE welcomes contributions from any country provided that the authors explain their local contexts and demonstrate the significance of their work for a global readership. Special emphasis is placed on applicable research relevant to social sciences, educational practice, educational realities in systems, schools, colleges and universities. JSWSE is concerned with social science and science education but also welcomes manuscripts on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or, geography, and the arts. It is published by Yayasan Sembilan Pemuda Indonesia and it will regularly be published three times a year, in April, August, and December.

<![CDATA[This study determined whether there is an effect of principal leadership and teacher competence on teacher’s performance at SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lilin, either partially or simultaneously. The population of this research is 40 teachers. The technique of collecting data using a questionnaire, with data analysis using multiple linear regression of SPSS 25. The results obtained in this study 1) there is no influence of principal leadership on teacher’s performance; 2) there is an effect of teacher’s competence on teacher’s performance; and 3) simultaneously there is an effect of principal leadership and teacher’s competence on teacher’s performance. This paper contributes to improve teacher’s performance through principal leadership and teacher’s competence.]]>

<![CDATA[This study determined the influence of the principal's leadership style and work motivation on the performance of high school teachers. Data in this study were collected through distributing the questionnaires to respondents. The results of the questionnaire were analyzed by using multiple regression analysis through t-test, F-test, and the coefficient of determination. Population in this study was all high school teachers in Air Kumbang subdistrict of Banyuasin district totaling 85 people. The sampling technique used was saturation. The research sample was 85 high school teachers. The results showed 1) there was a positive and significant effect of leadership style on teachers’ performance; 2) there was a positive and significant influence of work motivation on teachers’ performance; 3) there was a significant influence simultaneously of leadership style and work motivation on the performance of high school teachers in Air Kumbang sub-district Banyuasin.]]>

<![CDATA[This study determined 1) why the Jambi Province Early Childhood Education and Community Education have not been able to improve the quality of Early Childhood Education; 2) how is the management of the Jambi Province Early Childhood Education and Community Education Partnership in improving the quality of Early Childhood Education; 3) how is the quality improvement by Jambi Province Early Childhood Education and Community Education in Jambi Province; 4) how to manage Jambi Province Early Childhood Education and Community Education to improve the quality of Early Childhood Education. This research used descriptive qualitative method, with a phenomenological-naturalistic approach. Sampling was taken by purposive sampling. The results showed that Jambi Province Early Childhood Education and Community Education Jambi Province have implemented management to improve the quality of Early Childhood Education in Jambi by implementing quality management starting from planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring which refers to TQM in Education, but in the process and the results were not optimal and not yet able to provide consumer’s satisfaction.]]>

<![CDATA[The objectives of this study were to determine the influence of the principal's leadership style and organizational culture on teacher performance. This research used quantitative method with post-facto research type. The population of the study was 180 elementary school teachers with the status of State Civil Servants or Aparatur Sipil Negara in Sembawa Sub-district, Banyuasin Regency. The sample of research was 108 people. The sampling technique in this study used a table to determine the number of samples developed by Isaac and Michael. Data collection techniques used a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using correlation analysis and multiple regression techniques. The results of this study showed that: (1) the principal's leadership style influences teacher performance by 50.7%; (2) organizational culture influences teacher performance by 48.2%; and (3) the principal's leadership style and organizational culture simultaneously have a positive effect on teacher performance at 59.5% and others were influenced by other variables outside the study. It is recommended that elementary school teachers improve their performance through awareness in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper answered the effect of work discipline and teacher’s motivation partially and simultaneously on teacher’s performance at State Junior High Schools in Babat Toman Musi Banyuasin District. The design of this research is associative research. The number of samples of this study was 100 teachers. The statistical analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between work discipline (X1) and teacher’s motivation (X2) on teacher’s performance (Y). This paper concludes that teacher’s work discipline and teacher’s motivation have a positive and significant effect on teacher’s performance. This study recommends that teacher’s work discipline needs to be maintained and teacher’s motivation needs to be considered. It is important to be stimulated so that teacher’s motivation is within each teacher and it is necessary to improve facilities and infrastructure to support teacher’s performance.]]>

<![CDATA[This research provided the implementation of supervision and its impact on teacher’s performance in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Banyuasin. The method used was descriptive qualitative. The results obtained that class supervision was carried out well in a structured or systematic manner. Class supervision is first scheduled, then good planning is arranged in relation to the things needed to carry out supervision, then supervision is carried out in class by involving each element, until finally a report on the implementation of supervision is conducted and there are recommendations for improvement to be followed up. The implementation of classroom supervision has a positive impact on teachers. That supervision is able to provide guidance to planning, implementation and evaluation of learning.]]>

<![CDATA[This study determined the management competence of principals in improving the quality of education in SD Negeri 1 Epil, Lais District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. This research method is a qualitative descriptive. Sources of data in this study were teachers who assisted in the learning process at SD Negeri 1 Epil, Lais District, Musi Banyuasin Regency. Data collection techniques in this study include 1) interviews and 2) documentation. The data analysis used in this study were 1) data reduction, 2) display or presentation of data and 3) conclusions and data verification. The results showed that the management competence of the principal in improving the quality of education in Lais District was good. This paper contributes to upgrade the principal’s management competence in order to improve the quality of education.]]>

<![CDATA[This study determined whether there is any influence and how much influence the role of the school committee and school operational assistance programs on the quality of education. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri Rambang, Muara Enim. This type of research is quantitative research. While the method in this research uses the partial correlation method. The sample in this study were 45 educators and teaching staff at the school. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire. The results of this study showed that 1) there is a relationship between the role of the school committee and the school operational assistance program; 2) there is an influence between the role of the school committee on the quality of education; 3) there is an influence between the school operational assistance program on the implementation of education quality; and 4) there is a significant joint effect between the role of the school committee and the school operational assistance program on the quality of education.]]>
