Abstract

Objective: Rice is a staple food in Indonesia, but pests such as rats and birds often cause significant crop failures. This research developed a technological solution using solar power to deter these pests and optimize yields. Method: The study utilized a research and development approach, testing components such as solar panels, a timer, an FC-04 sound sensor, and an autonic BEN5M-MFR sensor. Results: The results indicate that the sensor can detect pests within a 7m range, triggering ultrasonic waves regulated by the timer to effectively repel rats and birds. The solar panel maintained a consistent 13V throughout the day, and the battery powered the system for 7 hours, demonstrating the viability of the solar-powered design to meet operational requirements. Novelty: This innovation contributes to enhancing food security by mitigating the impact of pests on rice cultivation through the integration of renewable energy technology.

Abstract

Objective: Consumption of electronic devices, particularly smartphones, is on the rise, leading to a significant reliance on electrical energy by humans. However, the battery of your smartphone may deplete rapidly with daily usage from morning till night. To cater to individuals with high mobility and outdoor tendencies, a charging station has been developed. Method: This station utilizes two sensors, namely PZEM-004T and DHT 22, which are then processed by the NodeMCU ESP 8266. The NodeMCU ESP 8266 generates temperature, current, and voltage readings, which are displayed on a 20x4 LCD screen and transmitted via Google Spreadsheet. Results: The sensor data accuracy is impressive, with the DHT 22 sensor achieving 98.2% and the PZEM 004T sensor reaching 94.5%. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that this tool effectively facilitates monitoring during the operation of solar panels. Novelty: To cater to individuals with high mobility and outdoor tendencies, a charging station has been developed.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the types of defects in the packaging process of creamer products and propose improvements for the company based on data processing results. Method: The analysis utilizes a sigma index calculation supported by tools such as Pareto diagrams, fishbone diagrams for cause-and-effect evaluation, and failure tree diagrams to identify the root causes. The 5Whys method is also employed to analyze the underlying issues. Results: The findings indicate that while productivity remains stable, several factors contributing to a high percentage of packaging defects require evaluation and optimization. The analysis highlights specific areas for improvement in the packaging process. Novelty: This study introduces a comprehensive approach combining statistical tools and root cause analysis to optimize the packaging process in the creamer production industry, offering valuable insights for improving operational efficiency.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to investigate the effect of variations in the number of windings on torque and power output in a 250 W DC motor applied to electric bicycle propulsion, considering the growing demand for efficient, low-cost, and environmentally friendly ground transportation. Method: An experimental approach was employed by modifying the armature windings of a DC motor through both increasing and decreasing the number of coils. Motor performance was evaluated by measuring rotational speed (RPM), torque, and output power under standard winding conditions, additional windings, and reduced windings. Results: The standard winding configuration produced a torque of 0.55 Nm and power of 5.7 W at 100.4 RPM. Increasing the number of windings resulted in a torque of 0.55 Nm and reduced power of 4 W at 77.8 RPM. Conversely, reducing the windings increased rotational speed to 131.3 RPM, yielding a torque of 5.5 Nm and power of 7.5 W. The findings indicate that increased windings reduce RPM and power, while reduced windings enhance RPM and power output. Novelty: This study provides empirical evidence on how winding modification directly influences DC motor performance in electric bicycles, offering practical insights for optimizing motor design through winding configuration adjustments.

Although common and easy to do, these methods of drying t-shirt screen printing ink are less effective and efficient because they take a long time and the drying results are uneven. This research aims to make an effective and efficient plastisol screen printing ink dryer with flash curing using the research and development method. Method: This research aims to make an effective and efficient plastisol screen printing ink dryer with flash curing using the research and development method. Results: The results showed that the drying process with the tool made took 20 seconds for each shirt, 5 seconds faster than the ink drying test with the manual method. The tool made uses a synchronous motor to move the infrared heater forward and backward so that the ink drying results can be evenly distributed. Novelty: This research aims to make an effective and efficient plastisol screen printing ink dryer with flash curing using the research and development method.

Abstract

Objective: The aim of this research is to find out the main factors that cause defects in painting parts and make appropriate suggestions/improvements to reduce and prevent defects in the painting process. Methods: The Method employed is that The method used is the Six Sigma method and the FMEA (Failure Mode Effect and Analysis) method. Six Sigma in technical methods is oriented towards a statistical approach to calculating product defects. The goal is to reduce process variance by eliminating defects that interfere with customer satisfaction. FMEA is a technical analysis which, if carried out correctly and at the right time, will provide great value in helping the decision making process. Results: The Results show that The research results show that the average DPMO value for tractor product production on weekdays from January 1 2023 to April 30 2023 is 107618.46 with an average sigma value of 2.74. Novelty: The recommendation for improvement from the FMEA method is that the cause of the defect with the highest RPN value is painting that does not comply with the SOP of 576. The proposed improvement for the cause of this defect is supervision of painting employees. The Novelty is derived from the specific application and findings of the Six Sigma and FMEA methods in addressing the painting defects at PT. XYZ.

On the casing control map, it is known that UCL with a value of 0.049, LCL with a value of 0.031, CL with a value of 0.040. On the handle defect control map, it is known that UCL with a value of 0.042, LCL with a value of 0.025, CL with a value of 0.033. In the hinge defect with the cause of failure, namely the production operator is not careful or less focused with an RPN value of 168 included in the high category. For the second on casing defects with the cause of failure, namely the provision of glue is uneven with an RPN value of 126 included in the high category. To get the best quality results, improvements can be made, namely the need to evaluate the comfort at work, because the more comfortable the workplace the concentration of workers is increasing, must choose materials that are strong, durable and have been tested for quality. need to update machines or tools with the latest technology. increase air circulation in the room and do greening around the company. before starting work activities the supervisor must brief the SOP, in the room given the SOP board. These improvements can minimize defects and can increase company productivity so that it can achieve the desired target. Novelty: The Novelty is derived from the specific application and detailed findings of the Control Chart and FMECA methods in addressing the rising defect rate at PT. Mitra Mutu Abadi.

Abstract

Objective: H. Schiff of Germany made the first attempts at preparing the Schiff bases in 1864, first showing that primary aliphatic or aromatic amines could react with ketones or aldehydes to form condensed monoalkyl or monoaryl imines with little change in the stereochemistry of the carbonyl carbon. The identification of this led to a long history of development of Schiff base research, which prompted chemists to find novel analogues that have better biological and therapeutic properties. Method: When Schiff bases are complexed with metallic ions, they often form very stable complexes that have shown promising antibacterial, antifungal, and anticancer effects. They can play an important role in coordination chemistry, largely because the azomethine (C=N) functional group has a strong binding capacity and is able to interact with a large range of metal ions, especially transition metal ions. Results: Schiff bases have the azomethine motif (C=N-R2) structurally and can be made highly reactive with the inclusion of heterocyclic compounds like pyrazole or imidazole. Novelty: A combination of these rings with the Schiff base skeleton frequently leads to the production of compounds which exhibit significant antifungal properties.
