Abstract

In recent years, Named Data Networking (NDN) has been one of the future internet network architectures by proposing it as a substitute for existing IP networks. NDN assigns addresses/names to data or content, whereas IP assigns addresses to devices. NDN router has a Content Store (CS) component to store requested packets and reducing the time for duplicate content requests. As network architecture, NDN uses several algorithms and strategies in the process. This paper will specifically discuss the forwarding and routing algorithm. Forwarding mechanisms play a significant role in packet delivery on the NDN system. Even though routing was not the main component of the NDN system, the routing mechanism and Routing Information Base remain important, considering Forwarding Information Base was generated after Routing Information Base was generated. Routing has significant control, whereas forwarding can give finer control over the delivery path. Considering the previous statement, the combination of routing and forwarding strategy must be considered to optimize the performance of the packet delivery system on NDN. In addition to getting information about the entire network, centralized routing, and adaptive networking are needed to distribute all network traffic fairly. The challenges and opportunities can also be a reference and a guideline for future Adaptive NDN research.

Abstract

The increasing development of today's technology specifically in the field of telecommunications triggers new problems associated with the increasing number of network connectivity users so that this makes the increased load of traffic on the Base Station (BS). To address traffic problems, a D2D technology is needed as a solution to enhance connectivity on 5G networks. In the use of D2D is still not optimal for dealing with the rapidly increasing load of traffic due to the large number of users. This research suggests the addition of devices in D2D communication, namely Relay Node. (RN). The results of the study showed that by using the relay aided communication scheme can improve the sumrate performance parameter is 1,970 × 107 bps and the spectral efficiency is 19,704 bpz/Hz, but less effective in the power efficiency parameter is 7,672 × 103 bps/mW due to the addition of relay devices that increase power consumption. Using iterative algorithms on relay aided communication schemes has been shown to improve performance parameters values more optimally than using full duplex and half duplex communications schemes. Therefore, the relay aided scheme is the most accurate communication scheme in dealing with transmission systems on D2D because by using the aided relay scheme, sumrate and spectral efficiency are improved by 55%.

Abstract

5G mobile communication technology has attracted much attention in the past three years. However, the development of antennas that can cover three types of 5G bands at once has not been studied. This paper proposes an antenna covering the three frequency bands of 2.3 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 26 GHz for 5G communication. The proposed antenna uses a microstrip patch design with 50-ohm inset feeding. FDTD mathematical analysis through simulation has been carried out and confirmed that the proposed antenna meets the required specifications in 5G technology. The simulation result shows that the proposed antenna has a good reflection coefficient in the target frequencies of -22.6 dB, -28.26 dB, and -22.48 dB, respectively.

Abstract

Principally, the validation of the location of the Optical Distribution Point (ODP) device is carried out to match the field data with the data at the center of the system. The current problem is that there are frequent shifts in ODP location data points in the field with the data system at PT. Telkom Witel Bandung because the existing detection system is still manual. This condition directly disrupts the performance of the communication network system so that service to customers is reduced. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a digital and automatic detection system for detecting ODP locations through the use of the Geographic Information System (GIS) method. This method is able to increase the accuracy and efficiency of the travel time to the ODP location point. This study aims to increase the accuracy of the ODP device at different locations through the development of a location point detection system using the geographic information system method approach. The testing technique carried out in this study used two methods, namely the direct method and the GPS field measure method. The test results on the developed geographic information system have been successfully integrated with Google maps and the GPS sensor has been successfully sent to the application. The results of the previous system obtained a location accuracy rate with an error percentage value of 3.6%. While the results of this development system obtained an error percentage value of 1%. Based on the results of the final test, it shows that the system developed in this study produces a better accuracy value than the previous system. In the future, this developed system can be implemented to accurately detect ODP locations for larger numbers and larger areas.

Abstract

Customer dissatisfaction is an opportunity lost for telecommunications operators in fixed broadband services in expanding its market, it is indicating that the criteria used in designing the loyalty program that being provided to customer are still less precise. This research aims to provide recommendations for telecommunications operator loyalty programs for fixed broadband services based on customer satisfaction’s criteria. This research uses DEMATEL-Based ANP (DANP) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to get assessment of loyalty program that best fits the customer satisfaction’s criteria. This research resulted in 5 dimensions and 22 criteria of customer satisfaction for telecommunications operators in fixed broadband services, where the dimension that most influences is resource and the dimension that is most influenced is relationship. The best loyalty program for telecommunications operators in fixed broadband services at PT X is High Value Customer (HVC), while the worst loyalty program is Customer Application.

Abstract

The industrial internet of things (IioT) is considered one of theIapplications in the fifth generation (5G) networks. In this application, users’ high mobility in a typical industrial scenario needs high reliability. The high mobility creates frequent handover, creating extra control signalling to a new base station (BS). The users’ congestion to the new BSs can lead to an outage. In this paper, we investigate how to manage the handover of users to improve reliability in a high-mobility scenario using deep learning. We first use an offline centralized algorithm to create labels for user association to a BS that is done without adding handover coefficient. Then, we train the neural network and use the trained parameter to make the multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (RL) learns better. This is done to avoid long iterative methods in reinforcement learning. The results show that our method can outperform the offline centralized algorithm by 40% when the handover coefficient increases.

Abstract

Frequency is a limited resource that cannot be made by humans. Therefore, its usage needs to be regulated so new technology like 5G still get frequency allocation. The 28 GHz frequency is an option that can be used in Indonesia for 5G technology, because it gets a large bandwidth allocation, namely 112 MHz. For the frequency to be used efficiently, one of the efforts is using the frequency license fee. In Indonesia, the frequency license fee is regulated in the regulation regarding BHP ISR for microwave link services. However, prices applied in Indonesia for 5G backhaul frequencies are too low compared to other countries such as India and Australia. With the same conditions, India applies Rp. 771,207,014, Australia Rp. 142,318,583, while Indonesia applies Rp. 32,949,287 for the frequency license fee. Based on the results of calculations, simulations, and changes to the components of the BHP ISR formula, it increases the frequency license fee to Rp. 81,320,400 which experienced an increase of 146%. The new price obtained is still below the price of other countries, because other countries have a larger GDP than Indonesia. This new price expected to make frequency usage more efficient and provide an increase in state income.

Abstract

The form manifestation of the omnibus law form is Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Copyright. The law on telecommunications relating to Main Licensing and Technical Licensing has undergone significant changes. Implementing the licensing process requires changes and a common perspective in understanding the articles associated with the licensing process, especially in telecommunications. The problem experienced is that several articles in the omnibus law regarding licensing for the operation of telecommunications networks still need to be clarified, which can potentially cause different perceptions among stakeholders. This study uses a normative juridical analysis method using primary law to analyze the problems that are the focus of the research. The conclusion drawn from this research is the need to clarify the articles in Law 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation and its derivative regulations regarding procedures for telecommunications operations other than those that already exist, which a Ministerial Decree can stipulate. There needs to be clarity in the rules regarding risk-based business licensing regarding how long the essential and technical licensing process takes and the need to attach a licensing SOP flowchart so that licensing stakeholders have the same perception of the licensing process.

Abstract

Telecommunication infrastructure is part of critical infrastructure because it has a vital role in the community and affects the country's economy. Therefore, telecommunications infrastructure can be classified as a vital national object, requiring a particular security mechanism in its deployment. However, telecommunication infrastructure has different characteristics than other sectors, where the operation is fixed and mobile. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, data is obtained from benchmarks and interviews with resource persons from various fields through several Forum Group Discussion activities. Each telecommunications network operator can apply for National Vital Objects in the Telecommunications Sector based on the mechanism under the guidelines for determining the national vital object in the telecommunications sector stipulated through a Ministerial Regulation. The regulation covers various aspects, including the mechanism for determining, evaluating, fostering, and responsibilities of National Vital Objects in the Telecommunications Sector. In its implementation, the National Vital Objects in the Telecommunications Sector manager coordinates with various security parties, such as the Indonesian National Police. With the policy of the National Vital Objects in the Telecommunications Sector implementation mechanism, it is hoped that the telecommunications infrastructure can be well protected so that the business climate of telecommunications operations remains conducive and telecommunications services can always support the development and strengthening of the national economy.

Abstract

The reporting of course attendance is an essential component of academic administration. This research designs and deploys a smart attendance system by leveraging proximity-based IoT. The smart attendance system is built upon the Android operating system to detect the beacon of the proximity sensor and is integrated into a database installed on a cloud server. The application supports three different features designated for administrators, lecturers, and students, respectively. The developed application accelerates data input for the campus administrator, records the course log efficiently, and concurrently reports the more secure student attendance from manipulation since it applies a single user identity. This study conducts a field test to evaluate the operational efficacy of the system by sampling students who enrolled in the course. The test involves utilizing a range of mobile devices to access the application connected to two courses. In one course, the functionality testing result is 91.67%, while in another, it is 100% successful. The limitation arises as a result of the incapability of the mobile device to perceive the beacon.
