Abstract

With a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings of the study show that the administrative system that is still manual, the limitations of technological infrastructure, the lack of officer skills, and the absence of a structured Standard Operation Procedure are the main obstacles in personnel management. As a result, the administrative process runs slowly, inefficiently, and often causes delays in the fulfillment of employee rights. To overcome this problem, it is recommended to implement a digital-based administrative system, intensive training for administrative officers, the preparation of clear Standard Operating Procedures, and the strengthening of technological infrastructure and transformational leadership. With the implementation of these measures, it is hoped that the Regional Civil Service Agency can provide more efficient, accurate, and responsive administrative services, thereby supporting the overall welfare of employees

Abstract

Public trust in Islamic banking products is a determining factor in the expansion and sustainability of the Islamic financial sector, particularly in regions with a predominantly Muslim population such as Jambi City. Although Islamic banks continue to grow institutionally, trust in their services is not uniform and is influenced by various factors including financial literacy, religious understanding, and the perceived alignment of products with Islamic values. This study aims to explore the dynamics of public trust in Islamic banking through a phenomenological approach that captures the lived experiences of individuals interacting with Islamic banks. Data were collected from selected informants including community members, Islamic bank employees, religious leaders, and micro-entrepreneurs using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results reveal that trust is formed gradually through knowledge dissemination, transparency in contracts, service quality, and the role of religious figures in validating the legitimacy of Sharia-compliant practices. These findings contribute theoretically by offering a context-based understanding of trust in Islamic finance, and practically by informing institutional strategies for enhancing public engagement and accountability in the delivery of Islamic banking products.

Abstract

Price-setting in micro-enterprises, especially in the catering sector, is a critical element that reflects the ethical integrity of business transactions. In Muslim-majority regions such as Talang Babat, pricing ideally adheres to Islamic business ethics, which emphasize justice, transparency, and the avoidance of exploitative practices. This study aims to describe and analyze the pricing practices employed by catering business actors in Talang Babat through the lens of Islamic business ethics. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving catering entrepreneurs, customers, and religious or community leaders. The findings show that while Islamic values are generally acknowledged, the practical implementation of ethical principles in pricing remains partial and inconsistent—particularly concerning transparency, fairness, and cost justification. This article contributes to the limited empirical literature on sharia-based pricing among micro-service enterprises and offers recommendations to strengthen the ethical foundations of small business practices in Muslim-majority settings.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of social media on public awareness of halal certification among residents of Kampung Laut, Kuala Jambi. As halal certification becomes increasingly important in Indonesia’s growing halal industry, understanding the role of digital platforms in shaping public knowledge and perception is crucial. The research aims to analyze the extent to which exposure to halal-related content on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube affects individuals’ awareness and attitudes toward halal certification. A quantitative approach was employed using a structured survey distributed to active social media users within the target population. The findings reveal a positive and statistically significant relationship between the frequency of social media use and the level of halal awareness. Respondents who frequently engage with halal content tend to show higher levels of understanding and trust toward certified products. These results are interpreted through the lenses of the Uses and Gratifications Theory, the Theory of Planned Behavior, and the Diffusion of Innovation Theory, which together provide a multidimensional framework for understanding the behavioral, motivational, and communicative aspects of halal awareness. This study contributes to the academic discourse by extending halal communication research into coastal, digitally underserved communities, and offers practical implications for policymakers, halal authorities, and content creators seeking to strengthen public engagement with halal principles through social media channels.

Abstract

This study explores the role of the Activity Management Unit (UPK) in optimizing the Women’s Savings and Loans Program (SPP) to improve community welfare and local economic resilience in Dendang Subdistrict. Rooted in concerns over rural poverty and income inequality, the research investigates how UPK facilitates access to financial resources for women while fostering participation and institutional trust. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and analysis of official documents to capture the contextual dynamics of the program. The findings reveal that UPK plays a multifaceted role as a financial manager, community facilitator, and institutional actor. Women participants reported improved access to capital, increased confidence in managing household and business finances, and strengthened social cohesion within loan groups. The study also identifies operational challenges, including limited digital infrastructure and generational gaps in participation. By drawing on empowerment theory and social organization frameworks, the research demonstrates that UPK’s participatory structure enhances women’s agency and reinforces collective development. The implications of this study offer valuable insights for strengthening grassroots financial initiatives and shaping gender-responsive policies in rural development contexts.
