Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of culturally responsive Project-Based Learning (CR-PjBL) integrated with Sinonggi local wisdom in improving students' scientific literacy. Based on a culturally responsive pedagogical framework, this study aims to bridge students' everyday cultural experiences with formal science learning to foster deeper understanding and engagement. A quasi-experimental design was used involving junior high school students, where the experimental group was taught using PjBL integrated with Sinonggi, while the control group received conventional teaching. Data collection techniques in this study were through observation, tests, and questionnaires. The instruments used in this study were multiple-choice questions (two levels), observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that students exposed to culturally integrated PjBL showed a significantly higher increase in scientific literacy compared to students in the control group. Furthermore, students showed increased engagement, critical thinking, and the ability to apply science concepts in real-life contexts. The results of the independent sample T-Test obtained a sig. (2 tailed) of 0.00 < 0.05, which means there is a difference in the scientific literacy scores of students who are given learning experiences using Project-Based Learning (CR-PjBL) that is culturally responsive and integrated with Sinonggi local wisdom with the scores of students taught with conventional models. The N-Gain value obtained is 0.60, categorized as moderate, indicating that the PjBL Model integrated with 'Sinonggi' local wisdom is quite effective in improving students' scientific literacy. These findings indicate that integrating local knowledge such as Sinonggi into project-based science learning not only improves cognitive outcomes but also supports culturally meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of professional ethics and teacher responsibility in the digital era toward the quality of learning interactions in senior high schools (SMA). The development of digital technology has changed learning patterns and created new challenges related to professionalism, communication ethics, and the use of technology in education. Teachers are required not only to master technology, but also to apply ethical values and professional responsibility in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach through library research by analyzing journals, books, and scientific articles related to teacher professional ethics, digital learning, and learning interaction quality. The results show that professional ethics and teacher responsibility have an important influence on the quality of digital learning interactions. Teachers who have good ethical awareness and digital literacy are able to create communicative, interactive, and meaningful learning processes. In addition, the use of technology that is balanced with ethical values can improve professionalism, student participation, and the effectiveness of learning interactions in SMA.

Abstract

This research is based on the low cognitive learning outcomes and the lack of active participation of students in the science subject, particularly in the contextual material of additives. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type of cooperative learning model while also analysing the significance of the improvement in learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMP Al-Ma’arif Panggung Sampang on the topic of additives. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method designed through a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The research sample consisted of 22 students selected using the saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through observation, objective tests (pretest and posttest), and the distribution of questionnaires. The results of the descriptive analysis show an increase in the average learning outcomes from 60.00 at the pretest stage to 71.36 at the posttest stage. Furthermore, the results of the parametric statistical test using the Paired Sample t-Test prove a significant difference with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the systematic implementation of the TGT syntax has proven effective in creating an interactive learning atmosphere, reducing boredom, and optimally improving students' cognitive learning outcomes on the topic of additives.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive infographic-based learning media on ecosystem topics and to determine its feasibility and practicality. This study employs the ADDIE model for development, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 13 third-grade students, one teacher, and three expert validators. Data collection techniques included student and teacher response questionnaires as well as expert validation of the media, content, and language. Data analysis was conducted using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods and was reinforced with Aiken’s V validity test. The results showed that the media received 100% content validation, 95% media validation, and 95% language validation, all categorized as highly feasible. Teacher responses scored 97.5% and student responses 90.57%, both categorized as “highly practical.” Thus, the developed instructional media is deemed suitable and practical for use in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate an integrated digital learning medium using Scratch, Canva, and CapCut for teaching energy transformation in IPAS to fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Seulalah. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of three digital applications into a single learning medium to provide interactive, vusual, and engaging learning experiences for elementary school students. This research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The participants were 23 fourth-grade students and three validators, comprising a media expert, a material expert, and a language expert. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and pretest-posttest assessments. The results indicated that the developed learning medium was valid, practical, and effective for IPAS learning. Student responses reached 86%, categorized as very attractive, furthermore, students’ learning outcomes improved significantly, as reflected by an N-Gain score of 0,79, which falls with in the high category. These findings demonstrate that the integration of Scratch, Canva, and CapCut can enhance student engagement, facilitate conceptual understanding, and improve learning outcomes in energy transformation topics. In conclusion, the developed digital learning medium is feasible and effective for supporting IPAS learning in elementary schools and has the potential to promote more interactive and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

The quality of learning is strongly influenced by the learning model used by the teacher. Observations revealed that seventh-grade students' understanding of environmental pollution material remained low due to the dominance of conventional teaching methods. Therefore, an innovative learning model is needed to enhance students' motivation and activeness. One promising alternative is the cooperative learning model of the Picture and Picture type. This study aims to examine the effect of the cooperative learning model of the Picture and Picture type in improving the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at MTs on the topic of environmental pollution. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the nonequivalent control group design, was employed. The experimental group was taught using the Picture and Picture model, while the control group was taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test due to non-normally distributed data. The results showed that the average score of the experimental group increased from 62.10 to 91.57 (a gain of 31.05 points), which was higher than that of the control group, which only increased by 21.57 points. The Wilcoxon test yielded a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Thus, the Picture and Picture cooperative learning model is proven to be more effective than conventional methods in improving students' learning outcomes on environmental pollution material

Abstract

Students often struggle to understand Science and Social Studies (IPAS) concepts, particularly the human respiratory system, due to uninnovative learning approaches and low participation. This study evaluates the impact of the Game Based Learning (GBL) model assisted by Memory Run media on fifth-grade students' learning outcomes. Anchored in John Dewey’s constructivism and Slavin’s motivation theory, this research argues that experiential, game-reinforced learning significantly enhances comprehension. A quantitative quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design was employed, utilizing multiple-choice objective tests as the instrument. The independent sample t-test yield a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.002 < 0.05, confirming that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This proves that the Game Based Learning (GBL) model with Memory Run media significantly improves student learning outcomes. Elementary schools are highly recommended to implement this innovative model to foster active participation. Consequently, these findings imply that integrating digital or physical educational games into complex science topics can effectively bridge conceptual gaps in primary education

Abstract

Contemporary elementary education emphasizes student-centered, culturally responsive, and engaging instructional approaches. In this context, integrating the traditional Indonesian game Curik-Curik into the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model for teaching Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in Grade 4 offers a promising pedagogical strategy. This study aims to explore the relevance, potential, and empirical foundation of this integration through a qualitative descriptive literature review. Relevant scholarly peer-reviewed studies featured in nationally recognized academic periodicals between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed. Findings indicate that the TGT model effectively enhances students’ learning motivation and conceptual understanding in IPAS, particularly at the Grade 4 level. Furthermore, traditional games like Curik-Curik demonstrate strong pedagogical value as contextual learning tools that foster cognitive development and social values such as cooperation, strategy, and sportsmanship. Importantly, empirical studies confirm that combining TGT with traditional games creates an active, meaningful, and culturally grounded learning experience. Thus, integrating Curik-Curik into the TGT framework demonstrates robust conceptual foundations alongside empirical applicability, thereby supporting the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum and fostering the Pancasila Student Profile. Profiles that honor local cultural diversity.

Abstract

The ability to develop learning tools is a fundamental pedagogical competence that prospective physics teachers must possess to ensure effective learning implementation. However, how well Physics Education students perform in developing learning tools remains an important question, particularly in the context of preparing future educators. This study positions learning outcomes in learning tool development as an indicator of students’ readiness to carry out professional teaching practices. The study aimed to describe the learning outcomes profile of Physics Education students in developing learning tools. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed involving 35 Physics Education students. Data were collected through the assessment of four components of learning tools, namely learning activity time allocation, teaching material mapping and attendance planning, syllabus/lesson plan development, and learning assessment. The findings revealed that students achieved high scores in teaching material mapping and attendance planning (89.46), learning activity time allocation (87.40), and syllabus/lesson plan development (82.83). In contrast, learning assessment obtained the lowest score (69.51), indicating challenges in designing appropriate assessment instruments. These findings suggest that students demonstrate good competence in instructional planning but require further support in assessment development. Therefore, learning activities emphasizing authentic assessment design and evaluation practices are recommended to strengthen prospective physics teachers’ pedagogical competence.

Abstract

The present study aims to explore the application of a Question Card-assisted Numbered Head Together (NHT) teaching model within elementary school settings based on evidence gathered from previous research studies. The research design adopted was a qualitative literature-based review study that involved examining numerous relevant research articles published in the time range from 2020–2025. Data was collected through article searches on the Google Scholar database, and subsequently interpreted through content analysis procedures. The findings obtained from the reviewed studies reveal that the application of the NHT approach combined with Question Card consistently produces a positive impact on learning activity, student motivation, concept understanding, and academic achievement outcomes for elementary school students. This model encourages the involvement of every student in learning through structured group work, while the Question Card acts as a medium that helps focus the discussion and clarify the learning material. Thus, the Question Card-assisted NHT approach can be considered an effective and practical alternative and relevant learning strategy to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning activities as well as educational outcomes at the elementary education level.
