Abstract

Early childhood is an individual who is experiencing development and growth. Early childhood 0-5 years old has a rapid potential in the formation of morals, therefore it is necessary to have proper care to form good character and morals. One effort that can be done is to apply parenting patterns like the Prophet Muhammad or known as prophetic parenting, such as displaying good role models, finding the right time to provide guidance, being fair and fulfilling children's rights, giving punishment and helping children to be devoted and do obedience. By applying this method, it is hoped that the development of religious and moral values of early childhood is achieved in accordance with Permendikbud No. 137 of 2014 concerning STPPA for ages 4-6 years. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of prophetic parenting in improving the development of religious and moral values of early childhood at PAUDQu Annisa Depok. Researchers conducted observations of teaching and learning activities inside and outside the classroom by observing the behavior of each child. The method used in this study is Qualitative Descriptive, namely direct observation and description. In this study, the techniques used to collect the data needed by the researcher were by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the school has a program that implements Islamic values and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad such as the habit of memorizing the Quran, practicing congregational prayer, memorizing daily prayers and hadiths and telling the story of the prophet which are practiced routinely and consistently so that they can improve the development of religious and moral values of early childhood in accordance with STPPA Permendikbud No. 137 of 2014 aged 4-6 years.

The findings highlight that picture books are potentially used in teaching humanity because able in fostering empathy; enhancing moral and ethical reasoning; make learning more interactive and engaging; and able to promote cultural awareness and Identity to children. The study also reveals six characteristic of picture books to be used in teaching humanity such as relatable and diverse character; engaging illustration; simple and clear language; moral and ethical lessons; interactive elements; and culturally sensitivity. The findings have significant implications for curriculum development, teacher training, and policy-making in early childhood education, particularly in multicultural contexts like Malaysia. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of a lack of parental attention on early childhood emotional regulation, including children’s ability to manage, express, and stabilize their emotions. Phenomena observed in the school environment indicate that children who receive insufficient attention at home tend to display explosive emotional responses when their desires are not fulfilled. Using an explanatory quantitative correlational method, this study involved 20 children aged 4–6 years and 20 parents from an early childhood education institution (ECE) in Bogor Regency. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires to measure parental attention and behavioral observation instruments to assess children’s emotional regulation. Descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average level of parental attention was 13.35, while the average score of children’s emotional regulation was 16.2. Correlation analysis yielded a coefficient of r = 0.727 (p < .001), indicating a statistically significant strong positive relationship between the two variables. These findings suggest that higher levels of parental attention are directly associated with better emotional regulation abilities in children. Conversely, minimal parental involvement causes children to lose emotional guidance, thereby hindering their social development and behavioral stability.

Abstract

This literature review aims to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Early Childhood Education (ECE), covering its conceptual foundations, philosophical underpinnings, principles, components, and the evolution of curriculum policies in Indonesia leading to its establishment. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a systematic literature review method. Data sources consist of peer-reviewed journal articles, scholarly books, government policy documents, and other relevant publications published between 2013 and 2024. The data were collected through academic database searches, including Google Scholar and national journal portals, using keywords related to the Merdeka Curriculum and Early Childhood Education. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis techniques involving data reduction, categorization, synthesis, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes flexibility and a child-centered learning approach. It provides educators with autonomy to design contextual and meaningful learning experiences through models such as Project-Based Learning and Inquiry-Based Learning. Therefore, aligning instructional models with the characteristics of the Merdeka Curriculum is essential to achieve learning objectives and to optimally support early childhood development.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a fundamental role in supporting children’s holistic development. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in ECE introduces a flexible, child-centered, and experience-based learning paradigm. This study aims to analyze the opportunities and challenges in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in ECE and to formulate a contextual conceptual framework for its implementation. The research employs a literature review method using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach through the synthesis of relevant scholarly sources, regulations, and previous research findings. The findings reveal that the Merdeka Curriculum provides opportunities to improve learning quality through interest-based learning, thematic project activities, strengthening character education aligned with the Pancasila Student Profile, and continuous professional development for teachers. However, several challenges persist, including limited facilities and infrastructure, insufficient teacher understanding of curriculum planning and authentic assessment, administrative burdens, and low parental involvement. As an analytical contribution, this article proposes a synthesized implementation framework consisting of four key dimensions: teacher readiness, institutional support, family engagement, and child-centered learning environments. This framework is expected to serve as a reference for strengthening the effective implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in ECE settings.
