This research is motivated by the importance of cultivating patient behavior from an early age because this patient behavior is useful for the future. The purpose of this study was to see the development of patient behavior in the August 17th competition activities. This study uses a Literature Review using three stages, namely data collection, data assessment, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are August 17th competition activities that can be carried out on children aged 4-5 years, namely the flag relay race, putting balls in a basket, cracker eating competition, marble carrying competition in a spoon, filling water into bottles, dribbling balloons. Although these activities are competitions that can build a healthy competitive spirit, these activities can also increase children's sense of pleasure, and can improve several aspects of child development, namely, cognitive, language, motoric, and social emotional, especially patient behavior, such as training children to be patient waiting for their turn to play then children will learn calmly and not rush in taking, dribbling, or putting in objects. Abstract

Social media has a bad impact on young children if it is not supervised by parents. Viewings on social media such as TikTok, YouTube shorts and Instagram reels are not intended for children, so young children should not be allowed to access them. If young children access social media without being accompanied by parents or adults, it will have an impact on the development of the child's soul, character and habit of children continuing to watch shows on social media. The development of a child's soul is a good example for children because it is in the golden age stage where stimulation is good. In social media the regulations are not yet strict because many are not suitable for viewing by children, videos circulating on social media are simply uploaded without thinking about the negative impacts if accessed by children. The role of father and mother is very important for children who access the internet and social media, so they need to be supervised, limited to viewing appropriate to the child's age, and provided understanding and explanation when children watch social media by parents because at an early age, the critical stage for children is always asking about anything. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of the group learning model in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) through a literature study approach. The group learning model is known to have various benefits, especially in supporting the cognitive, social and emotional development of early childhood. This study uses qualitative methods by examining various literature sources such as scientific journals, books and related articles. The results of the analysis show that the group learning model is effective in improving children's cooperation, communication and self-confidence. Apart from that, this approach also creates an interactive and fun learning environment, which can motivate children to actively participate. However, the group learning model also has disadvantages, such as passive students who will be left behind, if collaboration is not effective, conflict will occur, and teacher supervision is more intensive. The successful implementation of this model depends on the competence of educators in designing appropriate activities and collaboration with parents. This study recommends strengthening training for educators to optimize the implementation of group learning models in PAUD.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of using flashcards on early reading skills of young children, while considering the potential drawbacks of overuse. The background acknowledges that although flashcards are effective for letter recognition and pronunciation, repetitive usage may cause learners’ boredom—flashcards may serve as a solution to learning fatigue, yet variation remains essential (digilib.uinkhas.ac.id). This Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted over two cycles—planning, implementation, observation, and reflection—with 15 group B children in early childhood education. Results showed improvement in reading abilities—letter recognition, sound pronunciation, and simple syllable formation. However, the findings also emphasize the importance of integrating other media, such as Augmented Reality, to maintain engagement and prevent monotony (edukatif.org). Therefore, while flashcards are an effective and engaging learning tool, their usage should be accompanied by creative variation to sustain effectiveness and learner interest.

Abstract

Household inorganic waste remains environmental issue that has not been optimally addressed in Depok City. This study aims to describe the strategies employed by Posyandu Lily to encourage parental involvement in inorganic waste management programs. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, routine activity observations, and documentation. The study was conducted over two months and involved five main informants: the head of the Posyandu, the head of the local waste bank, two parents, and one active community member. The findings indicate that Posyandu Lily plays a dual role—as a provider of health services and as a community-based environmental mobilizer. The waste bank operates biweekly, engaging both parents and children in weighing and depositing inorganic waste. Additionally, used cooking oil is collected and processed into soap, integrating environmental education with household economic value. Key supporting factors include proximity, environmental awareness, and direct benefits for families. The main obstacle is the lack of habit in sorting waste at home. The study concludes that Posyandu has the potential to serve as a center for family-based environmental empowerment if waste management activities are structured and inclusive.

Abstract

This study aims to describe parental participation in parenting activities at PAUD Al-Hikmah, Jakarta, and identify the obstacles faced in building school–family synergy. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that parental participation is still limited due to parents’ work commitments, children being cared for by other guardians, inflexible activity schedules, and uneven levels of involvement. These constraints hinder effective collaboration between school and family. The study recommends adaptive communication strategies, such as flexible scheduling, the use of online platforms, and personal approaches to parents, so that parenting activities can become sustainable collaborative spaces supporting early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of families in developing children's moral aspects through the habit of saying sorry, please, and thank you at Sayang Bunda Early Childhood Education Center. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. The subjects of this study were 17 children and their parents/guardians as well as 4 teachers at Sayang Bunda Early Childhood Education Center with ages ranging from 4 to 6 years old. Data were collected through observation and interviews. The validity of the data obtained was then checked using the triangulation technique involving parents, students, and teachers. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive qualitative methods, consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that families play an important role in teaching children to say sorry, please, and thank you through role modeling, practice in daily life, and praise or positive reinforcement when children do so. The obstacle faced by parents is the lack of time together due to work commitments, so that practice is mostly done at school. This study provides new insights that synergy between families and schools to optimize the development of children's moral aspects from an early age can be achieved through the habit of saying sorry, please, and thank you.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze early childhood teachers’ strategies in managing classrooms to foster school readiness during the transition to primary school. The participants consisted of four early childhood education (ECE) teachers in Purwakarta Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation, and analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis model. The findings reveal that teachers employed various strategies, including routine habituation, play-based learning, and the reinforcement of socio-emotional skills. Challenges encountered include limited facilities, diverse levels of children’s readiness, and insufficient collaboration with parents and primary schools. A critical analysis using Paulo Freire’s framework highlights the importance of participatory and transformative approaches in supporting children’s transitions. The study emphasizes that school readiness encompasses not only academic aspects but also socio-emotional development and the support of a holistic educational ecosystem. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on teachers’ classroom practices in building school readiness, offering valuable insights for the development of early childhood education practices and policies in Indonesia.
