Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology encourages government institutions to provide effective and easily accessible information media for the public, including in the tourism sector. The Palembang City Tourism Office has carried out various promotional activities through multiple digital platforms; however, information regarding destinations, events, and tourism activities remains dispersed and is not centralized in an official portal. This condition makes it difficult for tourists to obtain complete and accurate information. Through this internship program, a prototype of a tourism website for the Palembang City Tourism Office was designed as an integrated, modern, and user-focused information and promotional medium. The study applied the Prototyping method, consisting of requirement gathering, mockup development, and prototype evaluation. The results include user interface designs for tourists—such as destination listings, detailed destination pages, events, and organizational profiles—along with an admin interface to manage website content independently. The resulting prototype is expected to serve as a reference for developing a fully functional official website that improves the effectiveness of tourism promotion in Palembang City.

Abstract

The internship attendance system at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of South Sumatra Province still faces several issues, such as the potential for time manipulation, long queues due to a single QR code point, and inefficient attendance data recap procedures. The current process, which uses Google Spreadsheet, also cannot ensure alignment between the recorded attendance time and the participants’ actual physical arrival. To address these problems, this study designs a web-based attendance system that is more accurate, structured, and accessible without QR code scanning. This research applies a qualitative approach through field observation, interviews with responsible staff, and literature review. The system development adopts the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, enabling quick iterations and active user involvement during the design phase. The results include a system design featuring account registration, check-in and check-out attendance, admin verification, attendance time settings, and automated real-time attendance reporting. This system is expected to enhance the effectiveness, accuracy, and efficiency of internship attendance management at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of South Sumatra Province.

Abstract

The management of hall borrowing at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of South Sumatra Province is still carried out manually through written requests and manual records, which often causes problems such as schedule conflicts, delayed information, and inefficient administrative processes. This study aims to design a hall borrowing information system that can manage the submission, scheduling, and approval processes in a structured and transparent manner. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and literature study. The system development method applied is Rapid Application Development (RAD), focused only on the design stage. The results of this study are system design models including use case diagrams, activity diagrams, class diagrams, and user interface designs. This design is expected to become the basis for future system development to improve efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in the hall borrowing process.

Abstract

The increasing number of internship participants at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of South Sumatra (Kanwil Kemenag Sumsel) requires a more structured decision-making system to ensure appropriate placement. The current manual placement process often causes division overload, uneven distribution, and mismatches between interns’ skills and division needs. This research proposes the design of a web-based decision support system (DSS) for internship placement using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method and the Decision Tree algorithm (C4.5) as the main classification model. The data considered include intern profiles, division capacity, academic background, skill set, and interests. Using the Decision Tree algorithm, placement recommendations are generated by mapping the relationships between intern attributes and suitable divisions in a hierarchical decision model. RAD supports rapid system development through iterative prototyping and continuous  user feedback. The result of this study includes system workflow, BPMN diagram, use case diagram, activity diagram, class diagram, and user interface mockups. Based on the literature and simulated data, the Decision Tree-based system provides interpretable, rule-based recommendations that can support more objective and balanced placement decisions. This conceptual design is expected to optimize intern distribution across divisions and improve the efficiency of managing the internship program at Kanwil Kemenag Sumsel.

Abstract

This study designs a PostgreSQL-based data warehouse using the Olist public dataset to address fragmented and unstructured e-commerce transactional data. The research process includes ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), data cleaning and standardization, table consolidation, and the development of a star schema consisting of a sales fact table and multiple dimension tables. OLAP analysis reveals key patterns such as annual sales trends, top product categories, seller performance, preferred payment methods, and customer geographic distribution. The results demonstrate that the data warehouse improves analytical efficiency and provides strategic insights to support business intelligence in the e-commerce environment

Abstract

This study aims to design and develop a web-based sales and inventory information system for Batik Jumputan MSMEs in Tuan Kentang Village, Palembang. The main problem is that transaction and inventory records are still managed manually, causing data errors and report delays. The system was developed using the Waterfall method and implemented with PHP and MySQL, and tested using Black-Box Testing. The results show that the system improves transaction recording efficiency, simplifies inventory management, and provides accurate real-time sales and inventory reports.

Abstract

This project aims to develop the Information System for the Digitalization of South Sumatra Traditional Houses at Dekranasda Palembang as an educational and cultural preservation platform based on modern technology. The research is motivated by the limited use of conventional information media in the traditional house complex, which restricts visitors from obtaining an interactive and comprehensive learning experience. The study applies a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach with a prototyping model, consisting of the stages of requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, and evaluation. Data were collected through field observations, interviews with Dekranasda officers, literature review, and cultural documentation. The results show that the developed web-based information system effectively presents data on traditional houses from 17 regencies and cities across South Sumatra through interactive features such as a cultural gallery, digital map, QR Code integration, and 360° Virtual Tour. The system has proven effective in enhancing cultural education, improving information accessibility, and supporting digital transformation in the regional tourism and cultural sectors. Thus, this system serves not only as a technological innovation but also as a strategic medium for the sustainable preservation of South Sumatra’s cultural heritage

Abstract

Historical tourism in Palembang City, particularly in the Benteng Kuto Besak (BKB) area and the Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Museum (SMB II), has significant educational potential. However, information related to historical narratives, museum collections, practical details such as ticket prices, as well as the locations of nearby micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and culinary destinations remains fragmented. This condition results in a suboptimal tourist experience and limits the promotion of the local economy. Therefore, this study aims to develop a web-based historical tourism guide information system using the PHP framework Laravel, integrated with MSME and culinary promotion, and to evaluate its functionality and feasibility through Black Box Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The development method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using an Iterative Prototype model, enabling rapid refinement of geospatial functionalities and UI/UX design. The results indicate that the system was successfully implemented using an optimal Model–View–Controller (MVC) architecture, separating stable historical content modules from dynamic MSME and culinary directories. Geospatial functionality was implemented through integration with the Google Maps API, providing automatic geocoding for MSMEs and culinary locations as well as Haversine distance calculations, effectively transforming static address data into actionable navigation guidance. With this integration, the system functions not only as a structured historical education tool but also as a driver of the local economy, achieving a target System Usability Scale (SUS) score above 80 in UAT, indicating a very high level of usability.

Abstract

This study presents a systematic literature review of 100 publications published between 2019 and 2025 to examine the development of chatbot research in e-government, focusing on research trends, methodologies, chatbot types, and application domains. The findings reveal a significant increase in the adoption of chatbots in public services, with task-oriented chatbots dominating applications such as information services, civil administration, taxation, and licensing. Experimental studies, surveys, and interviews are the most commonly employed research methods, indicating a strong emphasis on evaluating system effectiveness and user acceptance. Despite their potential to enhance service efficiency and accessibility, chatbot implementations face persistent challenges related to response accuracy, citizen trust, organizational readiness, and ethical as well as data governance issues. The review also identifies an emerging shift toward the use of generative AI to support more natural and adaptive interactions in public services. This study contributes by providing a comprehensive and up-to-date synthesis of chatbot research in e-government, highlighting key challenges and research gaps that can inform future policy development, system design, and empirical studies in digital government.

Abstract

The integration of chatbots and gamification has increasingly been adopted as a strategy to create more interactive digital experiences. Chatbots and gamification function as motivational tools that enhance user engagement, and their application has expanded across various sectors of daily life. However, further understanding and research are still required to examine how the combination of these two approaches can produce optimal outcomes. This study aims to address two main research questions: how chatbots and gamification can complement each other in creating engaging user experiences, and in which contexts this integration produces the most significant impact. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review approach using the Grounded Theory Literature Review method. Articles were collected from Google Scholar and Garuda, with search criteria focusing on the use of chatbots integrated with gamification elements in the fields of education, business, and entertainment. The selection process involved screening titles, abstracts, publication years, and contextual relevance to ensure that only pertinent studies were analyzed further.The findings indicate that the integration of chatbots and gamification can strengthen interaction, increase motivation, and create more adaptive experiences across various contexts. In education, this combination provides more personalized learning support. In business settings, it enhances emotional connections with users, while in the entertainment sector, it creates more immersive experiences. Overall, this study confirms that the integration of these two technologies holds significant potential to enhance user engagement, although challenges remain in terms of design and the sustainability of their implementation.
