Abstract

This scientific article discusses the role of teachers in creating the profile of Pancasila students at SMAN 1 Limboto. In order to realize its vision in the field of education, the government has established an independent curriculum policy in the hope that students will be born who can apply Pancasila values in the school environment by maximizing the important role of the government, society/parents, and the school in this case the teacher. The figure of the teacher becomes very crucial to create the profile of pancasila students with various roles that can be applied in school. As a result, the students of SMAN 1 Limboto have been able to apply some of the values of the Pancasila student profile on several dimensions, namely the dimension of faith and piety, the dimension of cooperation, and the creative dimension. The application of the dimension in question, for example, faith and piety can be seen with the activities of morning zikr, noon prayer together, cultivating salam and almsgiving. The mutual cooperation dimension is seen in the activity of cleaning the classroom and school environment together. As for the creative dimension, it can be seen in the students' creativity exhibition activities on their own initiative.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is disrupting traditional education and forcing educators to turn to distance and online learning. This research examines the effectiveness of Wordwall, an interactive platform, in increasing student engagement in Social Studies Education courses at the University of West Sulawesi. The research method used is qualitative with observation and interview techniques. Data were collected from eight students of the Elementary School Teacher Education study program who were selected based on their engagement in class, previous experience with online learning, and willingness to participate. The results showed that the use of Wordwall significantly increased students' engagement and motivation. Interactive features such as Quiz, Match Up, and Random Wheel help to create more interesting and varied learning activities. It is recommended that educators use Wordwall features more frequently, conduct training to improve skills in using this platform, and utilize the analysis feature to provide more specific and timely feedback. The integration of Wordwall in learning can create a more dynamic and engaging learning experience, thus helping students achieve better learning outcomes. This research provides important insights into how interactive technologies can be effectively used in higher education to improve student participation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Human communities have always been marked by conflicts, which came to be controlled by ethical and legal standards that developed along with human civilization. These widely accepted standards were eventually established as contemporary International Humanitarian Law (IHL). Additionally, it is commonly believed that this legislation has developed largely as a result of modern European activities, diminishing any potential contributions from other cultures and ethical traditions to its development and codification. However, it is noteworthy that the principles of jus ad bellum (law governing the use of force) and jus in Bello (content of the law of war) were evident in Islamic literature centuries before modern IHL was codified, with little attention paid to them. Jihad, or Islamic conflict, has been the subject of some existing literature, but the notion of Islamic humanitarian law within the context of IHL has not been thoroughly explored. Therefore, this study aims to fill a gap in the existing literature by reviewing Islamic humanitarian law within the ambit of IHL. This essay argues that Islamic humanitarian law, which regulates the treatment of prisoners of war, is extensive and comparable to the 1949 Geneva Convention's provisions. Additionally, the concepts of Siyar Islamic literature are strikingly similar to those of the Geneva Convention. This research adds to international relations by examining the degree of conformity between the requirements of Islamic Humanitarian Law and Modern IHL with regard to a matter of immediate practical relevance in an era when some regions of the world are suffering armed conflict

Abstract

World climate change is a real phenomenon that occurs today. The impact of climate change is certainly significant enough to affect all human life so the purpose of this article is to describe fishermen's adaptation to climate change and the strategies needed as conceptual solutions to current problems, especially in traditional fishermen. This article uses a literature study method where the data obtained are compiled, analyzed, then draw conclusions. Data type, is secondary data. Data collection techniques through stages are data from libraries. Then it is read, recorded, then processed.  The results of the study show that fishermen's adaptation strategies in facing famine due to climate change can be done through several strategies, such as adaptive behavior, adaptive Stretegies, and adaptive processes. For this reason, the ability of all family members is needed to manage the various assets they have for their survival, by managing labor assets and human capital assets, such as involving wives and children and utilizing the status or capacity of other family members according to their skills and education. However, for traditional fishing families with low socioeconomic level conditions, in order to sustain to meet the needs of their families, a coping strategy is needed, namely, by increasing income through the use of other resources or reducing expenditure through reducing the quantity and quality of goods or services. In addition, it can also use a family livelihood strategy by applying a dual income pattern which is part of the economic strategy.

The transition program is a program designed based on the results of an analysis of the needs, barriers, talents, interests and expectations of the GDPK to prepare as optimally as possible by involving the most comprehensive changes that PDBK may face in order to lead a better post-school life. The research design used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected by interview, observation and documentation techniques. Meanwhile, when the research was carried out until the data were collected completely and in depth, starting from the preparation to reporting the research results. The results of the study show the success of optimizing the transition program, as seen from the large number of PDBK absorbed in the world of work, and entrepreneurship based on tracking data for 2017-2020 graduates who have successfully passed 30 PDBK with the result that 11 children/36.6% have worked, 6 children/ 20% are entrepreneurs, 9 children/30% children continue to college and the remaining 4 children/13.3% are looking for work. Constraints faced are limited budgets, lack of support from the industrial world (DUDI) in the field practice process and labor recruitment. The solutions implemented by schools include conducting internal studies on the transition program, inviting the active role of committees, parents and seeking to continue to promote the achievements and potential of PDBK.

Abstract

The Constitutional Court (MK) Decision No. 90/PUU-XXI/2023 has attracted widespread attention regarding the dissenting opinion arguments put forward by a number of judges regarding the application of the Open Legal Policy (OLP) principle and the Code of Ethics of MK Judges. In this juridical review, we explore the various arguments contained in the dissenting opinion of Decision No. 90/PUU-XXI/2023, particularly those related to legal considerations related to OLP and the moral obligations of judges in interpreting and applying the law. This abstract aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the dynamics of legal interpretation and conflicting arguments in the context of this controversial Constitutional Court decision. By analyzing the arguments put forward in the dissenting opinion, we highlight the complexity of the legal and ethical issues involved, as well as the implications for the legitimacy and authority of the constitutional court. Through this review, it is hoped that a deeper insight into how the Constitutional Court dealt with the conflict between OLP and judges' code of ethics in the context of its decision-making can be found, as well as the implications of this decision for the future of constitutional justice in our country.
