This study used a cross sectional approach. Collecting data using a questionnaire sheet, where the population in this study were patients who were being treated in the Marta and Maria room of the Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan within the last 2 months and used purposive sampling technique, with a total sample of 64 people. The results showed that 50% caring behavior was very high, 28.1% high, and 21.9% low. Based on the chi square test, the p-value = 0.003 (p <0.05), which means that there is a relationship between Nurse Caring Behavior and Patient Satisfaction in the Santa Marta and Maria rooms at Santa Elisabeth Hospital, Medan. It is hoped that nurses will be able to apply better caring attitudes, show empathy and compassion, so that patients can feel satisfied and to improve the quality of service in the hospital.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of body mass index and workload on fatigue and musculoskeletal disorders and their impact on nurse performance. The type of this research was quantitative research with cross sectional method. The research sample used proportional random sampling method as many as 103 respondents to describe the effect of body mass index and workload on fatigue and musculoskeletal disorders and their impact on performance, data were analyzed by using Pearson correlation and path analysis. The results showed that BMI variables had no effect on work fatigue (p = 0.886), BMI variables had no effect on performance (p = 0.789), workload variables had an effect on musculoskeletal disorders complaints (p = 0.019), workload variables had an effect on performance ( p = 0.004), work exhaustion variables had an effect on performance (p = 0.016), variable musculoskeletal disorders complaints had an effect on performance (p = 0.023). The results of path analysis showed the effect of workload on musculoskeletal disorders complaints on the performance of nurses hospitalization was -0,314 and the effect of body mass index on work fatigue and its impact on the performance of nurses hospitalized was 0.027.

Abstract

Aid for emergency patients has a standard time of service known as response time, which is the time span of service required by nurses starting from determining triage until the completion of the process of handling emergency patients (fractures). Bleeding in small or large amounts can cause hypovolemic shock and even death. Cuts to large blood vessels in the neck, hands, and thighs can cause death in 1 – 3 minutes. While bleeding from the aorta or vena cava can cause death within 30 seconds. Emergency aid involves two main components, namely the pre-hospital phase and the hospital phase. Both components are equally important in emergency relief efforts. Emergency aid has a standard time of service known as response time, which is the time span of service required by nurses starting from determining triage to completion of the emergency handling process. This study used a quantitative research method with a descriptive correlation design. The sampling method used a total sampling method with a total sample of 26 nurses. There was a significant relationship between nurse response time in handling open fracture patients and the risk of hypovolemic shock.

Abstract

Changes in the musculoskeletal system often cause pregnant women to feel pain in the lower back area. Back pain is one of the discomforts that often occurs in third trimester pregnant women, which is an adaptation process in the body of pregnant women. About 80% of women experience back pain at some point during pregnancy. This occurs 70% due to changes in the spinal muscles, while 30% may be due to problems with previous spinal conditions. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of pregnancy massage on back pain in pregnant women and to find out the difference in pain between the treatment and control groups. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a non-randomized pretest and posttest with a control group design. Sampling was carried out by non-random sampling with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that there was a significant effect of giving pregnancy massage on the back on back pain in third trimester pregnant and there was a difference in pain in third trimester pregnant women in the treatment and control groups as evidenced.
