Abstract

This paper discusses the influence of Islamic cultural civilization on the Arab-Malay community in Jambi, Sebrang City. This study aims to identify the influence of Islamic culture on society in Arab Malay. The method used in this paper contains four stages, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The types of sources used in writing this research are sources from literature studies with historical analysis techniques using interpreters in historical facts which include books, documents and journals related to the influence of Islam in Jambi. The results of this study indicate that Islamic civilization entered Jambi from traders via the Batanghari river route and the arrival of ships from the Turkish sultanate led by Ahmad Barus who was stranded in Polo Behalo and destroyed idols so that Ahmad Barus was nicknamed Datuk Paduko Berhalo. The development of Islam in Jambi has had influences in various fields, especially on the Malay Arab community in Jambi, Sebrang City. Some of the influences that can be seen from Islamic civilization on the culture of the Jambi Malay Arab community, Sebrang City, namely the zapin dance, the dan syarah dance, gambus music, burdah, Assyura day, batik, eating together, hadrah or kompangan, visiting the graves of cooking, nisfu sya'ban, nginau, nuak and shaving babies' hair.

Abstract

P Economic growth is one of the goals to be achieved by the State in improving welfare (welfare state), so that the acceleration of economic growth becomes important and strategic for a country in the context of the development process, even an indicator of the successful performance of an economy.  The purpose of this article is to follow the progress of the Indonesian economy from the pioneering period to the globalisation period. By understanding this journey, we can gain further knowledge of how arrangements, fundamental changes, and relationships with business sectors around the world have shaped the Indonesian economy today. The research method used is a heuristic strategy where this is an exploratory approach that emphasises gathering information through various important sources and investigating information to create important goals. The results of the research found that the magnitude of the influence of the heritage of the ancestors on economic growth can provide progress in the future. History records where the strong impact of the Dutch limited development policy to the progress towards an open and universally connected economy, these traces reflect massive changes in monetary aspects, strategies, and global relations. From old demands, new demands, financial emergencies, to times of change. It shows that Indonesia has experienced various phases of ups and downs in economic growth.

Abstract

Artikel ini berisi uraian tentang penemuan kekayaan sumber daya alam Indonesia yang menunjang perekonomiannya. Pertanyaan penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah dampak ASEAN terhadap perekonomian Indonesia tahun 2010-2018. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi atau menjelaskan peran ASEAN terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia selama tahun 2010-2018. Penelitian ini memiliki perspektif kualitatif dan historis serta metode yang berbeda-beda, antara lain heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi, dan sejarah. Temuan artikel ini berasal dari tahun 2010. Artikel ini membahas tentang status perkembangan perekonomian Indonesia sebelum dan sesudah penerapan Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN. Selain fokus pada perkembangan perekonomian Indonesia sebelum dan sesudah penerapan ASEAN, penelitian ini juga akan membahas beberapa permasalahan terkait perkembangan perekonomian Indonesia sebelum dan sesudah penerapan ASEAN. Perekonomian Indonesia mempunyai daya saing yang rendah dibandingkan dengan Singapura, Malaysia dan Singapura. Thailand sebelum dan sesudah penerapan Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN. Artikel ini menunjukkan ternyata perkembangan perekonomian Indonesia sebelum dan sesudah penerapan Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN mengalami fluktuasi dan stabil dalam periode yang berbeda.

Abstract

This research examines the causes of the United States' defeat in the Vietnam War which took place from 1957 to 1975. The Vietnam War was a result of the Cold War which involved two main ideologies, namely communist ideology and SEATO. The United States, as one of the powers supporting the French colonial government in Indochina, joined the war with the aim of fighting for democratic values and human rights in Vietnam. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive design and found that several factors that caused the United States to lose the war were the invasion of Vietnam with its large troops and combat equipment, a kind of concern about the domino effect. as well as the existence of ineffective strategies regarding the opposition. The results of this research show that North Vietnam succeeded in achieving victory in the battle and there were several reasons that caused the defeat of the United States and also its influence on the Vietnam War.

Abstract

Bersyair is a traditional literary form of Malay tribal society that is rich in heritage and culture. Through the Bersyair tradition, the younger generation can better understand the importance of the role and contribution of Jambi Malay culture in shaping historical developments in their region. This research aims to describe the Character Values of the Bersyair Tradition in the Marriage Ceremony of the Teluk Dawan Malay Community of East Tanjung Jabung and its Relevance in History Learning. The method used in this research is qualitative research method with descriptive approach. Data collection techniques in this study include observation, interviews and documentation. From the results of this study it can be seen that the Bersyair tradition in the marriage ceremony of the Malay community of Teluk Dawan is a hereditary tradition from ancestors that has existed since the 17th century to the 19th century.The Bersyair tradition contains several character education values, including religious values, tolerance values, creative values, national spirit values and love for the country. The relevance of character education values contained in the Bersyair tradition can be integrated into history learning where these values can be implemented into class X Phase E subject matter which discusses historical research material and is included in the secondary historical sources sub chapter, namely oral tradition.

Abstract

The research objectives include describing the symbolic meaning of the Mendem Ari-Ari tradition in the Javanese community in Rantau Indah Village, East Tanjung Jabung Regency, and the implementation of the Mendem Ari-Ari tradition in the Javanese community in Rantau Indah Village, East Tanjung Jabung Regency. This research uses historical research methods consisting of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The results of this research are that the history of the Mendem Ari-Ari tradition is further strengthened by the Javanese people in Rantau Indah Village so that their Javaneseness does not disappear (a Javanese proverb says). Then it was socialized through more massive contact and communication from 2008 to 2018. The existence of the Mendem Ari-Ari tradition in Rantau Indah Village from 2008 to 2018 did not experience any change or fading of the tradition. Both in the way it is implemented and the knowledge of the people of Rantau Indah Village about the Mendem Ari-Ari tradition which is still carried out today. The Mendem Ari-Ari tradition is believed by the people of Rantau Indah Village to be an element of local tradition because it is a tradition that has been carried out and passed down from generation to generation.

Abstract

Gold thread embroidery is a typical Jambi Malay handicraft, which can be done by women in Jambi Kota Seberang. The existence of gold thread embroidery crafts as a hereditary activity and meet the needs of life. This study aims to convey that gold thread embroidery as a cultural heritage from Jambi, the development of gold thread embroidery crafts in Jambi Kota Seberang and the impact of handicrafts on craftsmen and communities in Jambi Kota Seberang. In research using historical research methods consisting of four stages: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results of this study stated that the craft of gold thread embroidery in the 1980s developed both in terms of human resources, production and marketing. In general, gold thread embroidery crafts are in the form of home industry or businesses in homes. The gold thread embroidery business did not receive support from the Jambi Province Dekranasda, Jambi City Dekranasda and Jambi City Disperindag. In addition, there is an embroidered wage system. Then in 2016, gold thread embroidery crafts began to regress, it can be seen from the level of human resources, production and marketing. In addition, the existence of gold thread embroidery crafts has a social, cultural and economic impact on craftsmen and the people of Jambi Kota Seberang.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had quite a bad impact on all sectors, especially the economic sector. Where many entrepreneurs are experiencing the impact of Covid-19, such as losses and going out of business, this is due to economic instability. One of the supports for the Indonesian economy is the existence of MSMEs which create jobs and provide opportunities for Batik MSMEs, especially in Jambi Seberang, to develop among the community. This research method uses qualitative research methods with the Batik Jambi Seberang MSME research location. The aim of this research is to find out how the journey or dynamics of Jambi Seberang Batik MSMEs were during the COVID-19 period in 2020. The results of the research show that Batik MSMEs in Jambi Seberang continued to run their businesses even though they were hindered by COVID-19, they continued to sell even though the results obtained were small. decrease. However, they can solve this problem by attracting customers' attention again by carrying out marketing promotions via social media to attract customers.

Abstract

In general, this research aims to describe and find out how the Mandi Safar tradition began in the community of Air Hitam Laut Sadu Village, Tanjung Jabung Timur 2003-2023, the procession of the Mandi Safar tradition of the community of Air Hitam Laut Sadu Village, Tanjung Jabung Timur 2003-2023, and the existence of the Mandi Safar tradition. community of Air Hitam Laut Sadu Village, East Tanjung Jabung 2003-2023. This research uses historical methods consisting of: 1. Heuristics, 2. Source Criticism, 3. Interpretation, and 4. Historiography. The results of the research state that the history of the Safar Bathing tradition began to be carried out by the people of Air Hitam Laut village since 1965, then in 2003 this tradition was officially designated as a regional event by the government. The Safar Bathing process has three essences, first, writing or memorizing seven verses of the Koran starting with the pronunciation of salamun. second, the intention to bathe and third, the bath itself. The existence of the Mandi Safar tradition increases every year and is able to attract thousands of tourists from outside the region and even from outside the province

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out understand Muhammad Natsir's thoughts on political developments in Indonesia, the implementation or role of Muhammad Natsir's thoughts in the development of political history in Indonesia and the impact of Muhammad Natsir's political thoughts on the development of Indonesian political history. This condition made Natsir try to fight for the ideals of the Indonesian state, namely breaking free from the shackles of colonialism through his thoughts and struggle. Muhammad Natsir, who is familiarly called Pak Natsir, is a politician, cleric and intellectual who has simplicity in all his leadership. He first entered politics in 1930. The research method used in the research is the historical research method which consists of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation and historiography. The data used is through library research obtained from library and internet sources. The results of this research are Natsir's activities and thoughts which encourage Indonesian political activities to come back to life, such as the concepts of democracy, secularism and his struggle in the parliamentary assembly of the Republic of the United States of Indonesia (RIS). Thus, the impact of the thinking carried out is that the notion of secularism in Indonesian politics is eroded and replaced with the democratic values of Pancasila, the existence of political party activities, and the return of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) from the United Republic of Indonesia (RIS).
