The word “International” refers to our mission to provide readers with relevant fields of study and to involve authors in giving their contributions on an international scale. ”Research Journal” refers to our aim to function as a medium to disseminate research findings regardless of methodological differences. ”Business Studies” refers to the boundary of the fields of studies that we serve i.e. encompassing all disciplines and paradigms related to the studies of any facet of the business. Aim The primary objective of IRJBS is to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the area of business studies by presenting the results of an empirical study, including rigorous research methods, and providing managerial implications to the readers. Scope The IRJBS welcomes manuscripts in business management, which include the areas of strategic management, marketing management, finance management, organization, human resources management, and operations management. Starting Volume 13, Number 2 (2020), IRJBS publishes high-quality articles/papers using rigorous research with questions, evidence, and conclusions that are related to corporate management studies and recent trends that are relevant to business management scholars and business practitioners. More specifically, the IRJBS seeks to publish papers that ask and help to answer important and interesting questions in managing the corporation, develop and/or test theory, replicate prior studies, explore interesting phenomena, review and synthesize existing research, and evaluate the many methodologies used in the corporate management field. We welcome manuscripts in corporations within one geographic and/or across the geographic and business spectrum which include but are not limited to corporate strategy, corporate governance, corporate organization, and human capital, corporate finance, corporate marketing, and the operations aspect of the corporation. We appreciate a diverse range of research methods and are open to papers that rely on statistical inference, qualitative data, verbal theory, computational models, and mathematical models

It has often been argued that customer satisfaction can contribute significantly to a company’s success in a variety of ways. This research aims to investigate the effect of customer satisfaction on behavioural intentions. Two determinants of behavioral intentions examined in this study namely repurchase intentions and positive word-of-mouth communication. The model has been tested using surveyed data from 546 car insurance consumers in Melbourne, Australia. The empirical results of this study show that the higher the level of satisfaction, the higher the consumer’s intentions to repurchase and inform positive information about the purchased product and company to other people. This means that the more satisfied the consumers the more likely they are to repurchase car insurance from the same company and more likely to do positive word-of-mouth communication. Thus, behavioral intentions expressed by consumers depend on their levels of satisfaction. Hence, the company might maintain their existing customers and attract new consumers to achieve better financial performance. Discussion and managerial implications are provided based on research results.

The design of store atmosphere shall function as kind of stimuli that will attract the visitor to decide which store to choose. Further, it is aimed to evoke the desire of customers to purchase and create transaction. Thus, it can directly affect the shopping behaviour of both men and women. This study will learn about how the atmospheric stimuli can affect the behaviour of visitor, both men and women. The study is divided into two stages: the first stage, exploratory research design; the second stage, path analysis. The exploration or identification attributes is done through interview according to the attributes of atmospheric stimuli (Turley and Milliman). While the endogenous variable in this case are the organism (visitor) and respond (of visitor). Atmospheric stimuli factors, in the other hand shall function as exogenous variables. While the result of the study conducted to 107 respondents of men and women shows that store exterior, interior lay out and human variables are siginificant to the variable of consumber respons. Store exterior, store interior have such a siginificant effect on the organism (the emotional intensity of male visitor). Organism variable has an effect on the responds of male visitors, while store interior variable only affect siginificantly on the organism of female visitor (the emotional intensity of female visitors).

The aim of the study is to assess the positive relation between expected return of asset or portofolio with its consumption beta, using consumption-based capital asset pricing model (CCAPM) (Breden,1979) in Indonesia Stock Exchange market. Hypothesis testing in this research utilizing two-step econometric models: first pass regression and second pass regression. Based on the test, there is no linear and positive relation between expected return and consumption beta. The results suggest the limited correlation between the aggregate of consumption level and historical return movement. The research does not support CCAPM theory. The results indicate another factor aside from consumption in determining stock exchange return. It shows the fact that the small proportion of investor compared to the population of the country affects how the consumption data should be interpreted carefully since the data reflect more on non-investor consumer consumption.

The aim of this research is to know the prediction of some explanatory factors that impact on probability of public company to divide earnings to investor and find the accuracy rate to classify public company become two group based on some explanatory factor. First group is dividend payer’s company, and second group is non-dividend payer’s company. Some explanatory factors that we used are free cash flow, debt policy, and profitability. We employ logistic regression model as data analysis method. Our sample is taken from the Kompas 100 Index constituent public company in 2007. The results point out both debt policy and profitability are positively relationship with dividend policy and free cash flow has no significant relationship with dividend policy. In addition, the accuracy of all factors that used to classify both dividend payer’s company group and dividend non-payer’s company group are 69%.

The research aimed to study the busway users’ understanding, attitude, and behavior toward the quality of TransJakarta service, in order to provide alternative solution over the complexity of massive transportation problems in DKI Jakarta, as the capital city of Indonesia. In addition, the research presented some inputs to overcome the transportation problems in Jakarta that can be used as points of evaluation for other cities in Indonesia which have prepared or are preparing to make use of bus rapid transit system. The research was focused on the quality of TransJakarta service, and identified the necessary atributes to produce an optimum public service quality–as a part of social engineering study on massive transport system. The analysis used Service Quality (SERVQUAL) dan Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) concepts, done through surveys on 450 respondents on eight busway corridors. The result showed that the users of TransJakarta value most the dimension of empathy and quite the reverse value worst the dimension of tangible. The data showed that empathy is the dimension in which service quality “is considered” most likely improved. While other dimensions, especially the dimensions of tangible, responsiveness and assurance ‘are considered’ already given, since the TransJakarta users regard them as being outside the management limit of Public Service Board of TransJakarta.

Mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L.) is the highly demanded fruit for export commodity from Indonesia. The biggest mangosteen production center in Indonesia is West Java Province that includes Purwakarta, Subang, Bogor, and Tasikmalaya contributing 90% of mangosteen production in West Java Province and 29% of national mangosteen production. The activities of mangosteen production in West Java Province have not been efficient yet, so the potential source of the fruit in West Java Province is not efficient enough to compete internationally. In order to have competitive advantages, supply chain management in mangosteen business was initiated in Bogor district in 2007 which integrated processes from receiving raw material to selling finished products. Needs identification and institutional structure in emerging supply chain of mangosteen in Bogor District were necessary to be carried out to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the chain to achieve its objectives. In running its business processes, the member of the chain will be linked between each other. Supply chain needs will also be linked with each other. In this study, Intepretative Structural Modeling was used to describe the relationship between needs of the chain and relationships among the institutions in the chain.

This study is based on an exploratory empirical study (carried out in 2004-2005) investigating the impact of Chinese social institutions (guanxi and wulun) to managerial values and business practices for achieving success in organizational settings. The study tries to find answer behind the enduring history of the economic success of Chinese people in Indonesia. It follows Redding’s suggestion that Confucianism is a key root cause of the economic success of overseas Chinese, including those in Indonesia. The study explores managerial values and business practices in Chinese-managed organizations as compared to Javanese-managed organizations. The study is also intended to construct factors representing managerial values and business practices that prevail in Indonesia. Research findings show there is only one variable that significantly differentiate Chinese and Javanese managerial values in Indonesia. This single variable may be helpful for enhancing our understanding of managerial values and business practices in the socio-cultural perspectives that prevail in Indonesia, and that it may be used for future research to build dimensionality of business cultures and management practices in different contexts.

While, team work, initiative and reporting activities have greatest contribution to the performance of managerial employee variable. The research shows that organizational commitment variable as intervening variable that bridging the relationship between job characteristics variable and managerial employee performance variable. Path coefficient for organizational commitment variable is greater than job satisfaction variable in influencing managerial employee performance. Therefore, in order to enhance performance of managerial employees, it is necessary to build stronger organizational commitment, especially affective commitment.

Fundamental analysis and technical analysis has been used independently to predict the stock price movement. Both type of analysis usually used without interacting each other. This study was intended to test the complementary nature of fundamental and technical analysis as to whether it will increase the explanatory power to explain the stock price movement in Indonesia LQ45 market. The result shows that fundamental or technical analysis alone in isolation have the ability to predict future prices. But, by integrating both factors together in a single model will give the superior explanatory power to the prediction. However, in Indonesia stock market, technical analysis plays the biggest role in determining future price movements, while technical data was widely available in the market rather than the fundamental data such as analyst’s forecasted EPS. These findings prove that fundamental analysis can be used in determining which stocks or portfolio is prosperous in the future, and technical analysis can be used in determining the right time to buy or sell the stocks. By integrating both type of analysis, investors could have superior profit than the buy and hold strategy. The result should also enrich the knowledge of stock traders in gaining more profit.

The enormous number of micro enterprises contributes relatively low to the aggregate economy. This is due to the fact that many small businesses do not grow although it has been run for years. Reluctance to grow may be due to, for instance, the desire to retain ownership or avoidance of loss of satisfaction. This study aims to examine the influence of several individual factors that may affect growth intention. Those factors are the start-up motivation, self-efficacy and risk taking propensity of the business owners. The sample of this study were 50 pedagang kreatif lapangan in Salatiga who are the founder of his/her business. Multiple-regression analyses reveal that start-up motivation and self-efficacy significantly affect growth intention. This means that entrepreneurs who start their business because of some positive reasons and faith have greater intention to grow. The result also indicates that although a micro-entrepreneur has a high degree of risk taking propensity, his/her intention to grow may be low when he/she lacks of neither positive start-up motivation nor a high degree of self-efficacy.
