Abstract

The WO (Weaknesses-Opportunities) strategy focuses on overcoming weaknesses such as limited supporting facilities and lack of promotion by taking advantage of external opportunities such as high interest in religious tourism and promotion through print and digital media. This involves increasing promotion and marketing and developing attractive religious tourism programs. The WT (Weaknesses-Threats) strategy focuses on overcoming internal weaknesses, such as limited supporting facilities and competition from other tourist destinations, by facing external threats, such as cultural values and economic uncertainty changes. This involves investment in developing tourism infrastructure and improving the quality of services at Nyai Brintik Tomb. By implementing these strategies, it is hoped that the potential for religious tourism at the Nyai Brintik Tomb can be optimized effectively, increasing the number of tourist visits, increasing tourism income, and strengthening local cultural identity. Apart from that, the development of religious tourism at the Nyai Brintik Tomb can also contribute to the sustainable development of the Mount Brintik area as a whole by paying attention to aspects of environmental preservation, local economic development and community empowerment. Thus, the Nyai Brintik Tomb has the potential to become one of the leading religious tourism destinations in the city of Semarang, attracting visitors from various groups and providing a memorable and meaningful tourist experience.

Abstract

Indonesia and Thailand, both Southeast Asian countries with high levels of cigarette consumption, have implemented health warning images on cigarette packs as a strategy to reduce smoking prevalence. This study aims to analyze and compare the effectiveness of these warning images in creating a deterrent and fear effect on smokers in both countries. Using Roland Barthes' semiotic method, this study focuses on visual elements such as image, size, and text message. The findings show that in Indonesia, images of lung cancer victims with scary textual warnings are pasted on the packaging, whereas in Thailand, the images used are more varied and larger in size, creating a stronger visual impact. Data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Thailand's Global Action to End Smoking revealed that there will be 70 million smokers in Indonesia by 2024 and 11.5 million in Thailand by 2022. The comparative results suggest that the larger and more varied health warnings in Thailand may be more effective in attracting attention and triggering emotional responses compared to the more homogenous approach in Indonesia. In conclusion, the results of this study suggest that effective visual warnings can influence smokers' awareness and behavior, providing important insights for the development of more dynamic public health policies tailored to each country's cultural context in tobacco control efforts.

Abstract

This research conducts a comprehensive juridical analysis of interfaith marriage within the framework of Indonesian positive law, examining the legal complexities and regulatory challenges in the current legal system. The study critically analyzes the existing legal instruments, including Marriage Law No. 1 of 1974, compilation of Islamic Law, and relevant Supreme Court decisions that govern interfaith marriages in Indonesia. Through doctrinal legal research methodology, this study investigates the legal vacuum surrounding interfaith marriages and its implications on citizens' constitutional rights. The research examines how different legal interpretations by civil registry offices, religious courts, and other legal institutions affect the implementation of interfaith marriage regulations. Findings indicate substantial inconsistencies in legal interpretation and application, leading to legal uncertainty for couples seeking interfaith marriages. The study reveals that while Indonesian positive law does not explicitly prohibit interfaith marriages, the absence of clear regulatory frameworks often results in practical obstacles and varying administrative practices across different regions. The research also explores how judicial decisions have shaped the legal landscape of interfaith marriages, analyzing landmark cases that have influenced current legal practices. This study concludes that there is an urgent need for legal reform to provide clear guidelines for interfaith marriages that align with constitutional principles while respecting religious values and human rights in Indonesia's pluralistic society.

Abstract

This quantitative study uses SmartPLS3 to analyze the main issues related to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) business actors, as well as the role of the hybrid model in maintaining the sustainability of MICE activities in Indonesia. This study focuses on five representative cities that are the main targets of MICE activities according to the government's strategic plan, namely Jakarta, Bogor, Bali, Yogyakarta, and Malang. The COVID-19 pandemic that has hit various countries, including Indonesia, for more than a year, has brought major challenges. The tourism and MICE sectors are among the most affected, with many business actors forced to stop their operations and switch to alternative sectors such as culinary, agriculture, and plantations as a means of survival. However, the emergence of the hybrid model has become an important solution for the MICE sector. Some alternative solutions adopted during the pandemic include organizing virtual MICE events, virtual tourism, webinars, and meetings through platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom. Teleconferencing has also become an important tool to maintain engagement. These adaptations highlight the increasing reliance on advanced technology to ensure the sustainability of the MICE industry. The implementation of these activities requires high creativity and quality in order to run well. This change emphasizes the importance of continuous innovation and utilization of technology by MICE industry players to navigate the ever-evolving landscape.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the innovation of public relations (PR) content publication strategies in shaping the image of regional leaders in East Java Province, focusing on the utilization of digital technology. The main issue addressed is the lack of effectiveness of content strategies in changing public perception and building a positive image. Using the theories of relations, reputation, and relevance (Onggo, 2004), the study explores and analyzes how PR content strategies can be innovatively applied. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews and document analysis. The findings indicate that the use of social media and digital platforms enhances two-way communication, strengthens relationships, and builds a positive reputation. Relevant and timely content increases public engagement, ensuring government messages remain significant. The study suggests optimizing digital technology and enhancing PR staff training to master the latest digital tools. Recommendations for future research include comparative studies across regions on the effectiveness of digital communication strategies. Thus, this study provides practical and theoretical insights to improve the effectiveness of public communication in the digital era, supporting the success of programs and policies in East Java Province.

Abstract

The study looks at fiscal federalism, which is the distribution of resources between federating entities so that they can carry out their constitutional duties. The goal of this study was to identify the fundamental imperatives of fiscal federalism for the advancement of the country. In Nigeria's new democratic environment, the relative roles of the federal government, state governments, and local government authority (LGAs) in providing public services have become one of the most crucial subjects of candid and heated discussion. Federalism, fiscal federalism, and development were conceptually explained from the outset, and it became clear that the principles of fiscal autonomy and integrity are critical to the survival and ongoing existence of a properly federating form of government. In order to ascertain how the federal arrangements affect the provision of basic services in four crucial areas, the analysis will make use of fieldwork conducted in six states and twelve LGAs. primary health care, primary education, clean water and sanitation, and local roads that connect communities to marketplaces, schools, and medical facilities. The paper, which was based on Buchan Fiscal Residuum Theory, attempted to accomplish the study's goal by balancing the value of the public services returned to individuals with the payments paid. According to the article, the conflicting problems and difficulties of fiscal federalism may manifest as a misalignment between the functions of the different levels of government and the sources of money. According to the paper's conclusion and recommendations, it is important to make sure that revenue allocation encourages state and local governments to increase internal revenue generation rather than relying only on funding from In order to clearly define the duties to be carried out by each level of government, the federation account and intergovernmental relations issues should be examined and respected.
