Abstract

COVID-19 affected all parts of the world and infected millions of people. In 2020, more than half of the world’s population experienced a lockdown with strong containment measures which have changed lifestyles and human behaviour. This study aimed to explore the changes in consumers’ purchasing patterns from offline to online in Malaysia during the COVID-19 pandemic and propose a comprehensive framework to be scientifically tested in the future. The existing available literature was reviewed to discover the main reasons that would influence the changes in purchasing patterns from offline to online during the pandemic outbreak. Variables taken into the analyses are awareness of government law, social distancing, method of payment, and the relevance of price and quality. This paper proposed the sample of Malaysian consumers who should be randomly selected for the data collection considering the benefit of this technique whereby each individual in the large population has the same probability of being selected and with the assumption that all consumers with eligible purchasing power are affected by the outbreaks of the pandemic. This research predicted that the behaviour of Malaysian citizens particularly their purchasing patterns has changed due to the crisis COVID-19 pandemic with the existence of the above variables. The migration from offline to online purchasing patterns has reinforced the growing trend of online shopping. It has encouraged experimentation, coaxing consumers to explore different ways to access products and services. This paper opens doors for more opportunities for future research to discover a wider area in different regions, countries or ASEAN in the same setting to gain more consistent insights. Future researchers who are in the same interest might add other relevant external influence factors, such as the type of platform citizens use to buy online, and the influence of demographical elements on the purchasing behavioural changes. The deeper studies on consumer behaviours and feedback after sales, the target sample could be based on different ranges of age, educational backgrounds, and average income. As the different criteria, factors and different environments could generate different perspectives and research results which will enrich the literature and knowledge on consumerism.

Abstract

One of the objectives of establishing the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia as stated in the preamble to the 1945 Constitution is to realize the welfare of the community. To realize this goal in the village community, efforts are made both through the making of laws and regulations and social programs. The efforts made are the opening of opportunities for villages to have business entities whose capital can be taken from village funds, namely Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in the period 2005 to 2020, there are 51,134 villages that already have BUMDes with village funds disbursed around Rp. 4.2 trillion. This study aims to analyze and find matters related to the government's legal politics and formulate strategies in order to improve community welfare through Village-Owned Enterprises ( BUMDes. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of writing. The selected data is the generalpublic as informants and managers of selected BUMDes as samples, data analysis using data production steps, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the establishment of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) has not been able to significantly realize the welfare of rural communities. This is due in addition to the low resources of the village community, especially the village elites in interpreting the government's legal political objectives regarding Village Miilik Business Entities, as well as the lack of assistance in the formation and empowerment of Village-Owned Enterprises. Itcan be said that there are still weaknesses in the legal system as well asthe lack of thinking ability and lack of legal awareness of stakeholders. BUMDes contribute to economic independence and one BUMDes in relation to aspects of compliance with laws and regulations have implications for the ability to manage village potential.

Abstract

The study examines determinants of the loan loss provision (LLP) of 259 commercial banks of the South Asian Association in the Regional Cooperation (SAARC) from 2010 to 2018. Pool ordinary least square (POLS), fixed effect (FE), panel corrected standard error (PCSE), and two stages least square (2SLS) panel data estimation measures the risk-taking behavior of banks. The results of inflation (INF) as an instrument variable (IV) are highly dependable with a negative impact on loan loss provision (LLP). Credit risk and lending interest rate (LIR) are positively and significantly correlated, an unnecessary quantity of real interest rate (RIR) was not valuable to make profitable returns, particularly throughout the global financial crisis (GFC). LLP is significantly moderated by return on equity (ROE) with a negative interface and facilitated the bank with commercial processes avoiding void bankruptcy. With the allocation of capitalization (CAP), capital adequacy ratio (CAR), and earnings before tax (EBT) to pre-fund credit losses by LLP. Banks increase corporate loans (CORP) for further lending growth and decrease LLP. Liquidity (LIQ) is high so fewer funds allocation is needed for LLP. Endogeneity is measured to check for robustness and showcase the importance of profitability to clarify risk-taking behavior. Government security (GOV) in the local banks does not provide a safety net after the r financial crisis. The profitable business deals, different structure, and inter-operation of losses by investors also cause high LLP, a reason for large impaired loan (IMP). The (SIZE) need to be stabilized with natural logarithm of total assets. Collectively, study relates to the current trickle-down effects due to GFC with policy implications in emerging countries of the economic bloc.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the supply chain for food needs based on the natural resources of the Tanimbar Islands in the face of Masela Block development The availability of components for distributors, cooperatives / Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES), farmer producers, home industries, inter-island traders, supermarkets/markets / retail and the Regional Investment Coordinating Board (BKPMD) has not yet become the main component of the supply chain system for meeting food needs principal The study was conducted with a qualitative approach, using a sample area of sub-districts and villages by "purposive sampling". The data were analyzed descriptively, and to determine the model and strategy of sustainable supply chain development, a SWOT analysis was used This paper provides a theoretical contribution to the concept of developing and utilizing distributor components through a potential study of each element. The results showed that for food needs in facing the Masela Block, it is predicted that by 2035 there will be a surplus or deficit in certain food commodities. The production facilities, transportation, and post-harvest processing services group can support businesses in agriculture, livestock and fisheries. Meanwhile, those who can supply staple food are transportation, warehousing, sales services, and labour services. The distributors, cooperatives / Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDES), farmer producers, home industries, inter-island traders, supermarkets/markets / retail and the Regional Investment Coordinating Board (BKPMD) are the main components of the ideal supply chain system for basic food needs. Local governments must further improve their ability to build distributor networks and have a sustainable and public accountability system or public accountability by prioritizing public service standards Researchers can then develop research studies to find operational mechanisms for the relationship between components and a formal accountability model in realizing component governance that benefits local actors and local governments. This research has had an impact on innovation in structuring the supply chain for sustainable staple food needs. The government must be able to encourage changes in chain management and the dominant control over supply chains in the regions Future research should focus on managing the ideal supply chain for sustainable staple food to face the Masela Block project by developing mutually beneficial business partnerships, from upstream to downstream.

Abstract

The study observed goals to degree the effective capability of logistics companies in Indonesia. Capacity is measured by the average load factor served per period with the queuing theory approach. The data used in this study were obtained from observations covering weekdays and weekends where the logistics company operates. The records compiled to seize versions in demand on the primary, middle, and quit of the working day with the item of studies divided into three regions, particularly western, crucial, and eastern Indonesia. The common load element information and the common ready time inside the queue are then used to degree the not unusual shipping of logistics merchandise served. The results showed that an effective logistics hub in the central part of Indonesia and other regions was less efficient due to the lack of routing development as well as demographic and geographical problems. The study concludes that logistics routes in Indonesia are categorized by region and hubs. Currently, not all operators implement e-routing due to the backbone of the technology infrastructure as well as financial reasons. There are significant differences regarding the area or scope of work logistics and distribution channels, the number of arrival units, the time spent in the waiting room when unloading goods, as well as the level of effective capacity in distribution infrastructure in Indonesia.

Abstract

Potential risks and work accidents are things that all sectors of the company must strive to prevent. Construction and production of paving blocks, tiles, and bricks are activities carried out by CV. Pakis Indah, which involves potential production risks. Risk management is needed to control risks in the workplace. The HIRARC approach is used for hazard risk control. This study intends to examine workers' knowledge of occupational health & safety, as well as controlling/reducing the risks. This study uses qualitative and quantitative techniques to calculate risk. Field observations and interviews with six informants were used to obtain data. The findings indicate that there are potential occupational hazards, namely 6 low risks, 9 moderate risks, and 18 high risks. Lack of understanding in the field of K3 results in a lack of awareness of the use of PPE and awareness of work accidents, so that the possibility of danger is not controlled properly. Risk control is carried out by substitution, elimination, administration, mechanical engineering, and the last is personal protective equipment

Abstract

Abstract Investment is the procedure of allocating funds in order to produce earnings. In the process of investment, risk and return forms the two sides of a same currency. The term “investment return” is commonly used to compute the effectiveness of an investment. Alternatively, known as “Return on Investment” also helps to appraise the competency of diverse investments at a particular point of time. The focal goal of the cram is to appraise the brunt of investment income at aggregate level that are generated by the service sector in Indian CPSEs from 2010-11 to 2019-20. For this purpose, seven industries are considered on aggregative basis. To analyze the resultant data, both accounting and statistical tools are applied in the study. The results of the study reveal significant positive impact with respect to return on equity in the service sector. This implies that service sector has played an imperative role in the financial growth process of the economy. To earn more returns on investment, the Government should adopt necessary measures like minimization of preset interest cost obligation, efficient use of inner resources and optimization of outfitted efficiency. Key Words: Disinvestment, Impact, Indian CPSEs, Investment Returns, Service Sector.

Abstract

This study investigates the long-run and short-run relationship between the annual CO2 emission and energy use per person in Sri Lanka. The study applied the Residual Based Test using data from 1985 to 2020. According to the Augmented Dickey-Fuller Test, all the series appear stationary in the first difference for the logarithm form at a 1 per cent significance level. The residual was significant at its level. The results strongly support the conclusion that co-integration between the two variables exists in the long term. The study found a positive relationship between CO2 emission and energy use in Sri Lanka. The fitted model was confirmed through the Normality Test, Serial Correlation Test, Heteroskedasticity Test and Recursive estimates. Error Correction Model (ECM) results found a positive relationship among the variable in the short term. Hence, energy usage is the most critical factor on CO2 emissions. While Sri Lanka has been facing a severe energy crisis in 2022, this study suggests using renewable and alternative energy resources like solar to sustain the environment.
